: The new Star Guardian story
I'm pretty sure it's getting longer, i think it ended on "Them? The team you lost? Is this a bad thing? Who were they?" when I first read it. Which is really annoying since there is no way to tell when it will be updated. Seriously, why split a short story up into pieces to upload, it's already short enough. On the plus side though, pumped that they're continuing the SG story. I sort of dropped out of following the main lore, but I love the continuation of AU stuff.
: last time i made a post about this, Wuks (i think) made a bot to lock every single one of my posts from more than a few months ago. It was kinda funny.
Well just in case the same person sees this post, I’m just asking to see if it is a common complaint. Locking one persons old posts, whilst funny, doesn’t really solve anything and I think it’s worth having a discussion to see if more would be in favour of locking old posts. Not that I would be opposed to my old posts being locked, it’s just that they aren’t the only posts being necro’d (if they ever get necro’d) and the amount of old threads popping up wouldn’t decrease in the slightest.
: > The new story confirms that Minotaurs in Runeterra and are not just more Vastaya (or at least are distinct enough to have their own subrace). They are also still indigenous to Noxian Territory (the Barrier Mountains like in the old lore) and some even fight for Noxus! This isn't really news, nor a surprise though. Devs assured they are a distinct race of their own by not including them in the Vastaya LU and as such, they kept the Great Barrier canon with a depiction of a minotaur related to it. Idk I wouldn't really call this a shocking revelation- but to each their own.
I wouldn’t call it shocking, I just like that it is confirmed. I must have missed any statements assuring us they were not Vastaya, but if they said nothing then there was still the possibility that they changed their minds later. Also minotaurs in Noxus is badass imo, so I guess I’m a little excited.

I know, but they responded to the thread instead of the people who actually necro’ed it, so I responded as I did.
: There were more than 2 champions in development fyi.
Not all of them are confirmed for release though, and some of them might undergo drastic changes still, right?

Ok. > But while many toiled to rebuild the world, others sought to conquer it. The brutal warlord Mordekaiser and his armies swept across the lands, crushing and enslaving any who would oppose his rule, and the mages of the order—unskilled in war—were of little value to this tyrant. Looming over them in his accursed battleplate, his keen eye fell upon Veigar, and Mordekaiser recognized the yordle for what he truly was. He snatched him up in one iron gauntlet, and dragged his prize away as the other mages were put to the sword. > When the revenant warlord’s own followers conspired against him, the nightmare of his reign was ended, but by this point Veigar was nigh unrecognizable. > At the height of Mordekaiser’s dark reign, it was said that a mythic and bloodthirsty fiend haunted the coastal cliffs of eastern Valoran, demanding young lives and savage worship from the local tribes. You saw it you can be happy now. Maybe Ledros is important in Morde's lore but he is definetly not Morde.
I think Stars Shaper is more scared of the fact that Vlad and Veiger might be retconned again along with Mordekaiser, along with any established history on Mordekaiser in the new lore. I think there is definitely reason to be skeptical or hesistant about this. I prefer to believe that they wouldn’t retcon such a large and integral portion of the new lore and this is just a bait and switch by MM/ Riot, but Stars is technically right in that we have no way to no if they will retcon everything.

Like Gragas' fat belly. This line of logic would imply that if they released a Gragas skin with him looking like Varus or Kayn, then that'd be ok, because it's an alternate fantasy.
I think that a thin Gragas wouldn’t be the worst skin in the world. Sort of like reverse Annie in a way. I don’t know how they would portray the body slam animation, but it might be a kinda funny skin anyway.

: I like this Ledros fellow
Now, there are several hints in the story that Ledros is quite similar to Mordekaiser, black gauntlets, spiked helm and the ability to leave the bist. He uses a sword, not a mace though, so I assumed they were different. Now MM makes a post alluding to a possible connection between Ledros and Mordekaiser? I’ve gotta say, I’m not keen the amount of timeline rework they would have to do to make this a thing. Currently the Ruination takes place after the Immortal Bastion falls and is claimed by the first Noxians, so that would need to change. The Rune Wars would need to have occured before Mordekaiser, since he encounters Ryze (unless all rune mages are blue?). This is not even taking into account how Veigar fits into this. The (first true) fall of Mordekaiser is important, it allows for Noxus to flourish and Veigar to escape. I’m gonna call BS, I don’t buy it. If Ledros is Mordekaiser, the amount of retconning already retconned material will be insane. It would give more credence to those who say “why get invested when everything can get changed at any time” and I am never a fan of that. Unless I’m missing something obvious here that makes everything work.

: If you could meet your favourite champions once...
{{champion:136}} I probably wouldn’t say anything, I would be in too much awe and fear to do anything, although learning how to get to celestial targon would nice if I could ask. Hopefully he would just ignore me like humans ignore ants than just kill me.
: Ashe: Warmother. Issue 4 Available now! (in special addition or free!)
I really liked the comic series as a whole, hoping to to get a physical copy once it’s available. I have a question about how you pick “main characters”. How do you decide who gets to have the spotlight on them whilst moving a plot forward and who gets to be the supporting cast? You have over 140 champions to pick from, developing them all would be a gargantuan task. Do you have a criteria for the champions you choose to focus on, or is it just a case by case basis? I don’t expect all of them to have the same level of development (R.I.P. Rammus), but even if you cut out the obvious supporting cast, there’s still a lot of champions left.

: Aatrox, Aurelion Sol, and random thoughts...
While I don’t think A Sol would ever work with Aatrox, if Aarrox were to release the bond on Aurelion Sol, I’m sure he would destroy Runeterra and accomplish Aatrox’s goal because it happened to allign with his own (not as a favour, just coincidence). So Aatrox releasing A Sol seems like a decent plan for destruction.
: Loving the new Xin Zhao lore
Xin’s interactions with his guards were fantastic, I love his composure in the face of death. SkiptoMyLuo has done Xin’s character justice, fantastic story. Also, Alistar lore teaser! Minotaurs exist, I’m so excited.

: One could argue that Veigar, the artillery expert, is not exactly the best example for guerrilla warfare as well.
True, but I reason that as he just calls in artillery from afar. He doesn’t carry it around with him, so he can move around freely, paint a target and disappear. Rumble has a tank, so not very sneaky, Heimer has to carry around turret kits/ tools, so not too mobile. Still, the argument is kind of flimsy. I just think it qould be cool to have another faction.
: Rito Pls, Give us Omega Squad Rumble and Heimerdinger
What if Rumble and Heimerdinger were the bad guys? They don’t really fit in too much with the guerilla style of the other squad members imo. Heimer and Rumble seem more like the bad guys who set up some facility defenses to be sabotaged.

: Why is Nagakaborous concerned with humans?
I think one of the big differences between Nagakaborous and Aurelion Sol is the effective range/ scope of their power. Nagakaborous can affect many things at once, sort of existing everywhere at the same time. In that sense, it wouldn’t matter if she helped out humans, she’s literally everywhere and isn’t losing any time because she can help them out in parallel to whatever else she does. This is just my interpretation. There’s also a good chance that she doesn’t even consciously help, she just let’s humans channel her power (if they can/ if they are worthy).

: Some thoughts on how Talon got his name and his connection birds, owls to be exact
I feel like the connection to owls in particular is a little forced/ grasping at straws. The silent flight is probably the strongest part of it, and I can see it riding off that entirely, but the rain argument isn’t very convincing for me. In general though, he definitely shares some traits with birds of prey. I look forward to he day he gets some lore updates (hopefully before 2020).

: I mean that could be a possibility. But I don't think that's the case. [Scathelocke's comment]( makes it sounds like it's not magic theft (actually he does say she doesn't steal magic), hence why I think it's more like toxic wastes rather than just her taking the magic.
Fair enough. That's a really weird way to phrase it imo, but hey, Scathe knows what is canon and what isn't. Except Shyvanna lmao, not hating it's just funny. So when they say leach, they mean sort of the opposite, where instead of removing things through a "liquid", it leaves it behind? Well I'd be more inclined to believe that she indeed has some form of magic that interacts with emotions/ the soul in that case.
Falrein (EUW)
: You pretty much got it, yeah. As for your second paragraph, no. It has been said that Syndra doesn't drain the magic around her, putting the emphasis on the verb "to leach" which is different than "to leech". Basically her own magic saturates the ambient magic (that's what "leach" does. It's like tea, basically. The tea doesn't drain the water, it "saturates" it with flavour (okay busted example but it illustrates it pretty well)). It wouldn't be "anti-magic" but more like toxic wastes. And it would be the "price to pay" for such power. 'Cause while it doesn't seem to be a big deal, it actually is if it kills everything around (by taking away the magic they feed on). I would say she combines different types of magic (what I call Reality Warping, and some Spirit Magic (which, as I said, is the part that interacts with souls)). And while it does seem strong at first... Bear in mind that we have Spirit Gods, Ascended, and Aspects. And one of Syndra's themes has always been that she's been gifted with incredible power. I think that it would be fitting for a character that is supposed to be an incredibly powerful mage with powers that apparently have never been seen before.
Leaching is the chemical process by which a liquid is used to separate solids by dissolving the ones that will dissolve and removing the liquid, leaving the ones that don't dissolve. This can also happen when it rains, dissolving minerals in the soil and carrying them away, leaving the soil less mineral rich and less fertile. So, what I believe is being implied is that Syndra's magic saturates the area, absorbing the wild magic around her, which she then harnesses, separating it from the environment, leaving it less magically rich, thus depriving the living beings of the magic they need to survive.
: Is this the video you were looking for? :) Ornn's theme is absolutely so resonating. And Nunu and Willump's!!
Falrein (EUW)
: Small theory on Syndra's powers
Let me just put it in my own words so I can better grasp it, let me know if I got something wrong. She just has such a strong grasp of spirit magic that she can shape it into whatever she wants. She can coalesce it into material like cloth and crystal, concentrate it into dark balls of energy, or even manipulate it into invisible strings for telekinesis. Instead of converting it into elemental power of some form, she just brute forces whatever with pure spirit magic. If this were the case, I strongly believe the energy constraints on shaping magic to material would be need to be quite heavy. Turning energy into matter should be kind of costly in my eyes. Keep in mind, the fallout effect is likely due to the fact that specifically Ionian flora and fauna have some physical dependence on the wild magic around them (assuming similar to vastaya). Ryze talking to Keagan (or however Brand’s name was spelled) describes magic as something that wants to be used, I think he implies it’s all around us. I don’t think that her magic is being turned into anti spirit magic, probably she just uses the spirit magic as fuel, turning one form of energy into another. This leaves the living things with nothing to live off. It could also be possible she has multiple powers, idk what they would be but we can’t rule out the possibility.

: Thank you Riot Music Producers and Composers
Don't forget Ornn's theme, he even hums it. Really cool theme, if anyone has a link to the version with singing, please let me know, I couldn't find it when I looked. Also Warwick, Urgot, Swain and Irelia rework themes are very good and worth mentioning.

What? Can you explain a little further? Why is this place cool? Does it contain secrets forgotten to time? His enemies greatest weaknesses? Or do you just really like libraries?
: Who is Kahina, and will we see more of her in Lux's new comic series?
I suspect that it won't be too different to how it was. Even with the context shift, Kahina and Lux know each other already and so she probably trusts her not to join Sylas. I'm really excited for the Lux comic. I know some people dislike the fact that Demacia isn't a stereotypical good nation, but I don't mind that. I'm so excited to see Lux do some secret magic to help the kingdom out. Also > I'm actually kinda excited for Kahina to show up because MORE KNIGHT LADIES YEAH YES MORE KNIGHT LADIES PLEASE
: Thanks, for the summary, well umm... I main, shyvana, she was the very first champ I bought back when she was like 6300 INFLUENCE POINT (the OG currency, miss it tho...) and I remember reading her lore in that moment because I really liked the idea of being half dragon half human like Elder Scrolls V but yeah... I find this update completely unnecessary and it doesn't destroy the champion but it clearly weakens the lore of demacia overall, since as you say, it doesn't say that much about J4 and tbh, the old bio made much more sense than the new one, because why would a random dude steal a dragon egg and impregnate it with his shit, like you have to be a mentally ill person to do that, if you say, ohh a random dude fell in love with a drake that could talk and feel, well, that would be much better but no.. it had to be a random dude who stole a goddam egg and put his cum inside, like, WHAT?{{sticker:zombie-brand-mindblown}} {{sticker:zombie-brand-facepalm}}
You misunderstood/ I didn’t explain properly. Nobody had intercourse with any eggs, it was just magical contamination. I guess you could say the mage’s essence or aura enchanted the egg. He was planning to sell it in this new iteration. In the prvious iteration the same thing happened but he didn’t manage to steal it and dragon dad accepted Shyv anyway.

You’re just tring to find a reason to hype up Icathia aren’t you? : P Jokes aside, probably the Immortal Bastion. It has a long history, once belonging to the fearsome Mordekaiser, it’s where Swain got his demon, the symbol of might for Noxus. Plus the architecture is really cool.

It was Urtistan, my memory was hazy sorry. His new lore hasn't really changed, it's just a placeholder for whatever is to come in the future. He has been moved to Icathia though.
: Sorry for being late to the party but what happened to her lore? Can someone just give me an explanation? I haven't touched the Universe in about 2 years, not because I don't care, just because I forget to check it 😅
Back during the Demacia world building update with the Galio rework, Shyvanna received an updated bio. Her story involved her egg being tampered with, resulting in a half human half dragon baby. Her mother wanted to destroy her, but her dad protected her and absconded with Shyvanna, raising her to be a dragon regardless of her mixed race. Eventually he dies to Shyvanna's mother, Shyvanna meets Jarvan and they team up and kill her together. Recently Shyvanna's lore received what was supposed to be a light update, but was actually a different bio altogether. It turns out Riot's internal database had a different bio to what we have had for the past 2 years. Her new bio replaces dragon dad with a human dad who stole her egg, doesn't really focus on (or even mention really) that Shyvanna's mother holds disgust for her mixed race, and doesn't put as much emphasis on Jarvan's contribution to the fight with her mother. Many perceive the new bio as a downgrade and are quite unhappy with it. I personally don't think it is that bad, but I don't think it adds anything and it weakens the integrity of the universe as a retcon. People need a sense of permanence to get invested in lore, and if it is anything but a clear upgrade/ updating super old lore that doesn't work anymore, it should almost never be retconned.
: There's no guarantee to be a 'Shadow Isles lore event' but there will likely be biography updates for all if not for a few of the SI champions. I look forward to one for Karthus, he would benefit from a few new expansions into his bio.
I thought their bios were updated a long time ago though? I hope any update doesn't change too much about their core story lines. I really like their creepy fairy tale vibes.

B r u v do you even read the full lore or do you only read things relating to Aurelion Sol???? Veigar was enslaved by morde an extremely long time ago compared to current events. He was just a normal-ish yordle. Morde blocked out his spiritual magic so he couldn't escape and tortured him. Veigar felt dark and evil magic building up inside of him and instead of supressing it he embraced it. Mordekaiser MADE him who he is today. Morde is the REASON why. You're under the impression Aurelion sol made all stars, he didn't. Also the stars and the cosmic forces in general are all under Veigar's control. He creates black holes out of nothing, not out of stars. Veigar can probably make his own dark stars. Like read some more lore Aurelion Stan. You clearly missed the entire part where veigar broke out of Morde jail after developing these powers. You also don't understand that he can control his magic. Why tf would he make a black hole to swallow runeterra? You clearly again, didn't read all his lore. He acts evil, he isn't actually evil. He was tortured and is twisted af now, but the slight good inside of him prevents him from being malicious. He's just an insane good person that acts evil, why would he destroy runeterra? Also you really think the celestials who control runeterra would let him destroy it? Bard is still on a whole different level from veigar. Sol is one of my favorite characters in lore which is why I know so much about him. If anything you have the bias because you can't accept whats given to us on paper. He isn't close to as strong as you or other people speculate. Just because he's stronger than the majority of characters doesn't mean he's someone who can beat everyone on runeterra with no effort like you people suggest. He loses in a 1v1 to multiple characters and not to mention the characters on Runeterra have strength in numbers. Like y'all take something riot says and bend it and twist it to make Aurelion seem op when he's really not. I would be maining Aurelion if riot didn't push him out of meta 24/7. He's easily one of the coolest things riot has ever made, I can just accept the truth.
Ok, so I'm pretty sure you're just trolling. Most Aspects don't seem to take full control of their body ( {{champion:89}} , {{champion:131}} ,{{champion:44}} and {{champion:142}} ), unless their is urgent matters to up hold. Zoe isn't the the Aspect. Myisha and Zoe were some of the hosts to the Aspect of Twilight ( Messenger of the Aspects ). The only different Aspect is Pantheon, who overtook his host Atreus. > > Zoe calling AS her ˝space doggo˝comes more from her childish personality. Zoe is quite literally merged with aspect, confirmed by the rioter that wrote her lore. Someone asked if it was "permanent" and that triggered him to tell us she is infact fullly merged with Zoe, but then he went on a rant about how he never uses words like permanent. Aurelion would be slightly larger than the summoners rift. Someone took the measurement of his splashart and figured out how big he would be with math. Also yes, he can create stars with the flick of his finger, but based from his splash, they aren't that big. Someone posted an interesting idea on my thread earlier about the strength of Aurelion and said most likely it takes centuries to fully form a star... otherwise why would he be so heartbroken when his stars die? He spends a lot of time to craft an actual full sized star. If he could create literal full sized stars out of nothing, he probably wouldn't care when his stars died. Not to mention if stars are the only thing that he can do... Then congratulations Aurelion is about as strong as Veigar except Veigar is omnipotent. Veigar literally uses dark cosmic magic... except he can create black holes. In theory Aurelion can create black holes if he creates a sun big enough and then leave it to decay over time. but yeah veigar wins so like that space doggo weak.
If Veigar is omnipotent, how was he enslaved by Mordekaiser? If he could make true black holes, they would destroy Runeterra. He draws some of his power from the stars, which Aurelion made. You seem incredibly bias against A Sol, do you just hate the character?

: thanks for the Q&A roundup and to all for reading!! the ama was a bunch of fun! <3 will try and answer questions over here when I can as well.
Only tangentially related to Kayle, but is there anything you can share about Celestial Targon?
: Yeah but that's too vague and I think we are making too much out of them. I think that the Celestials started designing a world with features they found useful for their ideals of ordering the cosmos and they did it via the World Runes which is why the entirety of Runeterra is flowing with magic, they might even have designed some of the races that we have here (much like the Titan and the Keepers did in Warcraft). Aurelion Sol is one of the major celestials because lets be honest, tricked by targonians or not he is feared by all of the Aspects and has already battled and won against other celestials. The fact that he has been tricked is no sign of weakness but rather of ingenuity. Basically every Mythology has mortals being able to trick one or mor of their gods and this doens't make said gods any less powerful.
I assumed they were tools used by beings greater than celestials, what might be the actual gods, but maybe they were just used by the first celestials born. After all, Aurelion is responsible for a large number of stars, so in a way he created part of the universe. I don’t think he used the world runes, but perhaps he did. Also yeah, I’m on the same page as you with the fact that being enslaved doesn’t make him any less powerful. Celestial civilisations almost definitely have the potential to know how to trap one of the first celestial beings. The parallels with mythology are pretty clear.

I also have no problem with her KDA skin remaining hot either. IDK, to me sex appeal isn’t as important as being a freakin sick void hunter inside a living weapon. I don’t think she needs to look inhuman in stature, but her suit looks seriously lacking in terms of of weapons and void growths.
: About the world runes. They are like pencils for the celestials, saying that a man is weaker than a pencil would be more befitting to your example.
The runes are the tools of creation, I suspect they actually could be used to kill Aurelion Sol. The point of the car vs bodybuilder example was that anyone can be killed by a car, regardless of strength, which is similar to how I suspect anyone can be destroyed by the tools of creation, regardless of strength.
: if you ever give malzahar a full visual update make him hot again
New Malzahar looks awesome to me. Floating homunculus champions are underrated. Narratively I don’t see the problem, he has been warped by the void so his appearance makes sense.

It's literally just space. Zoe is not a celestial, she has been granted powers by one, but "merging" does not mean she became a celestial or an aspect. Celestial beings are just things born in the stars, like Bard and Soraka. Unless you have a source to prove me wrong? Bruv literally read the lore idk what to tell you.
From Aurelion Sol's bio > As his past glories slowly vanished from the celestial realm for lack of maintenance, Aurelion Sol resigned himself to never again bask in the warmth of a freshly ignited star. Literally says he was in the celestial realm, heavily implying that it is just space (his past glories were the stars he made). I have read 95% of the content on the universe site, I like to imagine I have a pretty good grip on the lore. I don't know what you read to make you think the celestial realm is anything other than space, but if you can provide the source and it's legit, I'll admit I'm wrong.
