[Hello there!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEq1Z0bjdwc) this is just a reminder for all the people who doesn't check his mails or have doubts about this case:
_***~~IMPORTANT: Due to the new projects Riot Games has been working on, as players we went from having League of Legends accounts to a Riot Games account, for that reason, it's important that each and every existing account has a different username, which is why everyone is getting the message of forced change.~~***_
_*~~UPDATE: It will not be possible to use the same LoL account in different regions, it will only apply to Riot "games".~~*_

Here is the [Riot Article](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037264394-Riot-Accounts):
> I share this with you more than anything because any email that asks you at first hand to change your username or password sounds super suspicious and generates a lot of doubts about it.
We’ve known for a while that Riot Games would shift from being the League of Legends developer to being the “bunch of games” developer, and that time is finally here! But what does that mean for you, the player? Exciting changes are coming your way, and one of those is the evolution of a League of Legends account into a Riot Account. Let’s dive into it.
##**_~~WHAT EVEN IS A RIOT ACCOUNT?~~_**
Great question. Your Riot Account is the way you'll log into any of Riot's games. It’s the name you type into the sign-in screen for League of Legends, for example, and the one you'll use for Legends of Runeterra, as well. Usernames are now required to be globally unique across all League of Legends regions, including PBE. Since it’s your account across all Riot regions, you can log out in France and back in when you visit Brazil and still be able to play with all your friends back in Paris.
##**_~~WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?~~_**
Switching from a League account to a Riot Account represents a streamlined approach to multiple game titles. Rather than opening up several windows or having to remember an increasing number of passwords (or, you know, the same one with different numbers slapped on the end), you can manage a singular account.
##**_~~WHAT WILL I NEED TO DO?~~_**
If you have a name that is not already globally unique, you’ll receive an email from us asking you to go through and make sure that your name, regardless of server, is the only one of its kind. The tl;dr is that you are special and unique, and so are your usernames. We understand that changing your name can be a bit of a bummer, but this will ensure that you are you, no matter which Riot Game you’re playing. If you feel you need to ensure your name is globally unique, you can always check here.
##**_~~WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM Y’ALL, IF MY NAME ISN’T GLOBALLY UNIQUE?~~_**
If you do need to change your name, we’ll be sending our first email your way in early November. This will give you until November 19th, 2019 to make any necessary changes. On November 19th, you won’t be able to play any games (though you’ll still be able to log in). Be sure to change your name as soon as you can, because on January 22nd, 2020, you’ll no longer be able to sign-in with your old name until you’ve changed. Just remember, you won’t have to change anything if your name is already unique!
You'll get an e-mail from Riot Games ([firstname.lastname@example.org](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/es-419/articles/201751784) )) like this one in here:
I hope this has been helpful to anyone who was having doubts about this, cheers!
