That line of argumentation is really bad for the game as a whole. Aphelios has a banrate that can be basicly translated as, every game he is not banned gets dodged or remaked. When this happens in silver it is not big a deal even though most players are in this elo, because a champion doing that in this elo can simply have a weakness that can not be abused by bad players, or needs good fundamentels to be dealt with accordingly. The skill of the people playing the character is what decides the outcome. Now if this happens in Challenger korea, which i think we can all agree is the highest level of SoloQ play we have, then that means that their exists a champion that is so overloaded/overtuned/overstat, that the best in the world can not find an answer to it. So as far as we know, their does not exists an answer to beating this champion in the game, just by picking Aphelios u present ur opponent with a problem that has no answer. Ur actual skill as a player get dimished as a deciding gamefactor. This means that when he gets picked in lower elos, u get a problem. U will find players spamming Aphelios, getting into elos they simply are not good enough to be in, just because their champion can shut down better players. Then Aphelios gets banned and they become an absolute deadweight, basicly destroying every game they can not pick their insanly overpowered character. A Champion like that is not just a problem for the best of the best, it screwes over lower elo games too, just because these players arent good enough to recognize why they lose, doent mean the reasons dissapears into thin air. That is the same problem every overloaded champion has. They screw the ladder an create massiv frustration within the playersbase because suddenly people in the same bracket have insanly different levels of fundamental gameplay. Its fine if silverplayers just play their game and dont care if something is too strong or not, in fact playing like that will bring u much more happiness inside the game. But at the end of the day this game lives through his proscene and when we have a game that is simply not fair then we can not call it competetiv. Just imagin a rule in football/soccer that says: "Yeah team A starts with 3 goals more" Would anyone come to u and say "If u are good enough u win anyway?" Hell no! Would anyone watch? Why would they? The winner most of the times is decided at the start so why bother watching. This blantent imbalance allows people insanly high end of draft prediction rates without even a basic understanding of competetiv games. When u see one team with Aphelios, u already know that botlane will decide how this goes. Jungle cant permasit u for the whole game? U cant end before he finishes 1 item? Rock-Papper-Scissor is in fact a way more difficult version of toplane, as both sides choose at the same time. Every Toplane that gets second pick either counterpicks u in one of the impossible matchups any champion seems to have, or is straight up trolling his team by throwing away such an easy advantage. Or just Morde and win everything because why not.

Katarina starts boots because other early itemoptions straight up arent good on her. She really needs {{item:3146}} to become a champion, ofc after buying this item she becomes a terror for anyone since her daggers can no longer be avoided given she plays it right, but that is really no excuse. Give out an offensive item that gives no Mana, manaregen or some other stat she has no use for and she will instantly start it.

Fid gets the R into Fear, Ram chains a Taunt, And Fid has his fear back for another 3-4 seconds. Good times, taking a full channel of the Fid R is never a fun experience.
Its true that champions with dashes existed more and more by the end of season 2. However the amount of cooldown reduction, the high resources it took and the chmapionstypes possessing this mobility are very different. {{champion:103}} {{champion:38}} {{champion:19}} Foir example had only their ultimates as mobility. They needed very specific situations to be able to 100 to 0 you in an even gamestate, since the mobility on their ultimates soaked up a lot of their kits strenght. {{champion:18}} Was not the same as she is today. She could not get a reset of her e back then and was stuck with an over 20 second cd on that escape. Frankly her rework made her a nightmare, that crowded out charakters like {{champion:222}} from proplay, but that is a whole other topic of discussion. {{champion:39}} {{champion:92}} These two really show how important resources and longer cooldowns are. Irelia used to unable to reset her mobilitsypell unless she killed aunit with it, meaning she couldnt just double or tripple dash in a 1 v 1 making her kiteable. Riven on the hand was always bustet. A resourcless champion with all in potencial and high mobility, while also having a spammable shield is just not fair, not back then and not now. However the easy accessible cooldownreduction nowadaysmade it so she can just go {{item:3133}} {{item:3067}} as her first buys every game and has lots of options, while in earlier season she was stuck buying whatever item gave the most cdr. She is the best example of a champion broken through not having resources since her most broken itembuilds each year are just the ones that give her 40% cdr the fastest. Maybe i open up a riven discussion some day with some numberchrunching behind, because this champion is just not fair and never will be.

I would really ask u to watch just some standard vods of older league days [not the yt highlights were highelo players go stomp silvers]. Their u will find a massiv difference to what is seen today. What u describe as oneshots here are usually kills happening after there have already been multiple trades, combined with some cheesy, random high values which existed without a doubt. Thing is, those random ratios were outliers, not the norm, a normal midlane matchup was not defined by who can shove and onehit u at the same time. For example in early years {{champion:7}} was terrifying to face since she was one of the handful of champions u had to rush mr against to survivie. Today rushing whatever resistance is needed is the norm for inmobile champions. Their only choice is to get enough stats fast to live through the damage, which even then forces them on the sustain options in the hope of getting to full hp in time for their opponents cooldowns to be back up, or being forced to based after singular trades. This state of the lane I described is an even one for many matchups nowadays, which i personally dislike, because of how much i feel like it limits playerskill.

Starting with boots was not an option based on everyone having enough damage, but actually the effect of people not constantly onecomboing each other. How do u start boots when ur opponent can just kill u in one combo? Not really a chance. Combine that with the low amount of mobility available and suddenly movementspeed is way more important than right now.

U kinda said it urself, we both know runes reforged didn't deliever, we just see the level of failure/success differently, which is normal since we do not have concrete data to back anything their. Something is always gonna be the best indeed. I just think removing a whole dimension of balancing in runes will make it easier on the live design team. If a champion can only be strong based of their items and kits, everything can be balanced waaaaay easier.

No i do not care much for what is done in proplay, since it has no aplication in my games at all. My problem with the runes reforged system is quite simple, if runes are strong enough to be considered relevant u get an extra source of power for urself, that is not based on ur champions kit or items in the game. Certain champions have been adjusted for years to not be nightmares, while runes where just not that important. Balancing just champions and items itself is hard. Now runes come around. Champion A has a good kit, decent items, but has very bad rune synergy. Champion B comes along, pretty similar in strenght before runes reforged, but champion B can abuse a certain keystone better than Champion A. CHampion A will never again see the light of day unless, Champion B is gutted out of existence, Champion A is overbuffed to stupid levels so he just needs 2 sources of power to compete, or the rune Champion B can abuse is guttet. Either case u delete a champion out of the game. Takling the champion with the best keystone is only META because it gives u a third source of power, which by riots wish has to be a relevant source, and thus will always put u above anyone who can not excess that third source. Champions that can not do that will never be relevant as long as runes reforged exists or they are overbuffed into oblivion.

You are right in the sense that spear of Shojin is one of their big mistakes. Challenging existing boundaries by questioning them is ok, just throwing them out the window isn't. The game is currently not balanced, you either abuse what is ungodly strong or put your team behind from the get go. We are at a point where u need more games on mages to make them work then u need on Riven, which is supposed to take super long to take up properly. They want their lcs bigplays and that is it, what the playerbase thinks doesn't matter and if they get to loud just pull random Data out of thin air [as far as we can tell] and tell them that makes it ok. Also skins, they forget it with a shiney new luxskin coming.

The only way to get these bad players out of ur game? Win. Win a lot. Ur reward are higher elo players u will still call bad because they are not faker. Reasons i dislike the game right now? - Insane amounts of CDR, which basicly kills smart trading and baiting off skills to win unfavorable matchups - New champions not having mobility seen as a reason to have their damage/cc/tankiness cut down - Having a bunch of champions with blantly overpowered kits [Warning: Kitpower means the strenght of their kits is to high, any champ can have good winrate by just upping their numbers to infinity] - The ignored fact that agency for one person means no agency for the other, being just that, ignored. - Straight up defending obviously op champions because of their "skill" invovled. Idc if u played this champion 50 games or not, if a champion has a 53% winrate u nerf it, it is that simple. - Runes reforged deciding who is viable and who isn't.

It really has nothing to do with the matchmaking. Don't get me wrong it is unbalanced, just not more than in any other season. The real problem is that the META promotes champions that escalate out of control if they even get one good trait of. After 1 back most champs can kill u in one combo which most of the time has like 8 - 12 seconds cd on the most important spell. Dodging it 18 times does not matter, number 19 hits u and u die and fall slightly behind. If u fall behind once u get farmed like a cannonminion, so people just get stronger and stronger til the point is reached where their goldleed is so massiv that a real skilldifference doesn't help anymore. U want to see a real skilled player? FInd me one who can still be good when farmed 8 times and i show u a player that is actually better then his current elo, snowballing on someone these days is to easy to call actual skill based of that. So either do not play ranked till the META changes or become a God lvl 1 - 3 and stomp'em all. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}

No. If ur plan is to beat blitzcrank all you have to do is have good positioning, your champion is not as important as how you play. Pyke on the other hand runs around with insane damage [executing champions from halflife] with a kit that at the same time is insane when ahead while being garantueed to be ahead and one of the hardest counters to his assissn archtype, shields, just gets ignored so bad players can feels better about themselves. That is a shitty design and should not exist in League of Legends in 2019.

I am so sick of this bullshit "get good" crying. You know why people complain about the current state of damage? Well without his ult he's easy to deal with so pick something that counters his ult. Not to mention zilean can slow him so his movement speed is gone. Always nerfing champs instead of learning to counterpick them is gonna leave us with a game of inept champions, incapable of doing what they were made for. If you pick any tank into pyke with good CC he's a goner. Alistar is also a decent counter as you just headbutt him away from your carry. Zilean and kayle for obvious reasons. Even karma with a root. But picking something like lulu, lux, sona, soraka, well yeh you chose to die there buddy. You don't pick exhaust in a soraka lane.. you pick ignite to counter the healing.
"He is not op, if u just pick...", at that moment your argument is already invalid. League is not a game where you see your enemie first all the time, if their are only specific champions that make pyke not op, then in a game with a 140 roster he is most of the time op. That is a concistency for which endless champs have been gutted already.

Sure, I wish that most threads would be more constructive in their nature and yes it often feels like we are ignored, but if we just stop giving them feedback things will definitely not change for the best. Just look at the new champions. Ofc counterplay is dying when every god damn champions gets a "Ps this doesn't work on her/him" somewhere in their kit. It is just a bad design which the developers think is to easy countered and so they remove the counter, ginoring that there are no other counters available. {{sticker:zombie-brand-mindblown}}
