not really, no more than he usually is anyway, it makes him more viable overall the way i see it. a bit of range doesn't make much difference to melees since they still have to get in to the turrets whether they have more range or not. i mean, i was playing vs a brand last night and the only reason i won lane was because he couldn't dodge my W or E. but he auto'd all of my turrets right after using 2 abilities to AOE them down to like 1hp. i played vs a garen and a darius some time before and they had no trouble whatsoever coming into my turrets lvl 1 and destroying them. so range makes no difference to melees at that point if they now what they're doing.
: Isn't Heimer supposed to be less effective against lane opponents with excellent range? So like, you wouldn't want to pick him into someone who outranges him (Lux, Vel, Xerath, etc) but he excels against close or mid range laners who need to get in his range to do anything. Granted I'm not a Heimer expert by any means, but giving a champion that already has a strong niche against close range a compensation for their weakness to other matchups sounds like an odd idea.
there's less effective and then there's bricked out vs them, i'm fine with the ability thing, it's just the AA's that make it annoying. The abilities have a massive range, sometimes going beyond where his turrets actually are (based on skill shots like vel'koz) so they'd still be stronger vs heimer. but with the AA's being able to outrange the turrets which were overall nerfed in his update (till you hit a skill shot) but how can you have a chance to hit a skill shot to use the turrets properly if they're already gone because someone auto attacked them without being able to be punished for it?

The turrets only do half damage from when it was updated. and in my experience, they're only hard to deal with if you've managed to get stuck in the middle of all 3 of them. outside of that they're easily destroyed by single abilities. and a couple of AA's again, look at luck, she has that massive AOE ability which one shots all3 at once and her aa then does extra damage from outside their range if for some reason it doesn't.

I'm loving the heimer changes, they make him able to turn so aggressive at level 2 & 3, what I think he needs though is a new skin xD 2 reasons, It forces Trinimmortal to make another skin video on him and make him tilt just cause it's hilarious. 2. i see all these champs getting skins willy nilly and it's been a pretty long time since heimer got one. {{champion:74}} {{champion:74}} {{champion:74}}

as a heimer player, I feel that the charge duration on turrets makes him less viable as a champ in the early-mid game, i personally rely on that charge when baiting and 50 second charge just slows him down and makes him too weak. everything else i like though. the new passive makes him more mobile (assuming his turrets aren't killed before minions appear) so overall I like, but that charge is just painful (and half damage to boot :( ) also, there was no mention of the "leave turrets alone and they deactivate" thing, is there any changes to that? longer delay on deactivation to make up for the general nerf or something like that?

: he is probably but he definately brings cancer to anyone facing him and especially melee top laners :P That's why riot doesn't touch him (he's too annoying so buffs would make ppl flame riot and nerfs gut him)
I guess, but I play him midlane. While he is cancerous, if he gets put down once he becomes pretty much useless, whereas there're loads of champs that can get put down once and come back even stronger.

honestly, when is heimerdinger getting an update of some kind? i feel horrible when i get told off for playing him cause he's "trash" when he's not really. Just a range update or passive change to make him more viable?
