Nothing is more frustrating than playing against champions like Illaoi or Quinn, or seeing the enemy Jhin go 7/0 at 6 minutes. But i'm forced to do that, because if i leave Pyke or Kayn open they'll be 9/0 at 10:00 and the game will be over. And don't even get me started on Nidalee and Evelynn chain ganking one lane over and over and over because they're unpunishable.

It seems unfair to you, that you got fed laning against a champion with a weak early game, and now he might situationally be able to execute you in the late game. (I assume; I can't find a recent match for you vs Garen at all...)

I was playing Jax. Supposedly scales even better than Garen does. He couldn't even damage me and i was practically 3-shotting him - problem is his Zac flash-ulted me which applied a 0.5 second knockup, which was enough time for Garen to run at me, spin for half a second and ult me. "Is if somebody else on your team gets more kills." Yeah. In low diamond solo queue. Depending on teammates to be able to carry me. Right. See, here's the thing. There's still no counterplay of my own here. All of these strategies depend entirely on my teammates playing around me and Garen. Random strangers that i have never met before and likely will never meet again. That's the biggest problem for top laners. If i don't carry, nobody does. If the enemy team manages to kill me, my team loses the fight. There is an exception to this perhaps once every 20 or 30 matches, and that's it. I've been forced to begin playing hypercarries like Jax, Kayle, Pantheon and Fiora rather than my preferred tanky front liners Darius, Urgot and Sion because of this. People take the game too seriously in ranked. Ironically, i am a lot more likely to get carried playing normal games because my teammates aren't so terrified of losing that they forget how to fight. Guardian angel seems the only viable option, and even then that's not counterplay. It still means i not only have to devote an item slot to an inefficient item for my champion and the enemy team comp, it also means i will effectively be forced to play the teamfight at 30% health. Once. Then i have to survive four minutes before i can teamfight again. Oh, and not going alone against Garen? As a Garen main you should know perfectly well how Garen can literally walk past the entire enemy team to get to his target, especially if his target is a front liner. Garen wasn't capable of damaging me, but he could 3-shot any one of my squishier teammates with his spin alone. Black cleaver and Sterak's gage will do that. His ultimate would be fine if it dealt magic damage - then at least i can itemize it. But % max HP / missing HP true damage? If you do not have invulnerability or a spell shield, you will die no matter what. It's not a skillshot and it doesn't require stacking up like Darius's ult - Garen clicks R while hovering the mouse over you and you're dead. This was fine when Garen was initially reworked as a lot of champions were actually tanky at the time, but in today's meta everyone's getting bursted down in a second or less - defense items and health is a lot less impactful before and it essentially turns Garen into a full tank assassin. You know, the kind of full tank assassin that Ekko and Fizz were playing in top lane a couple years ago, and got essentially gutted with reworked AP ratios to counteract. I understand that you feel loyal to your main champion but his true damage execute is just way too much. There's 0 counterplay from the individual. You can't build around it, you can't play around it, you can't do anything against it. If you are your team's primary front line, then you have lost the game the instant you are marked villain by Garen. Your team depends on you to be able to compete with the opposing players. Garen's villain mark means you can't even join in fights anymore because he can just tunnel vision on you from the get-go. At least similar champions like Pyke can actually miss their ults. Garen can't. For the record i had around 2500 health (with a sterak's gage) and around 220 armor and magic resist. Garen's ult did 1400 true damage, bypassing the Sterak's gage shield entirely, without even activating it. I was also mid-counterstrike so none of his right clicking teammates could actually damage me at the time.

Cassiopeia is an absolute hyperscaling pain in the ass like Ryze, true, but she DOES have counterplay. However, the skill you need to beat her is far, far higher than the skill she needs to beat you. {{champion:80}} enjoys laning against champions like Cassiopeia and Ryze. {{champion:85}} {{champion:84}} {{champion:122}} {{champion:114}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:150}} {{champion:126}} {{champion:240}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:92}} {{champion:91}} {{champion:23}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:254}} {{champion:62}} {{champion:157}} do reasonably well against her as well. She and Ryze both struggle with champions that have reliable, low cooldown all-in abilities or high frequency poke spells.

Riot is saving the art budget for use on skins, event passes and eternals. They can't afford to invest in login screens, because people aren't paying for those so they're not worth spending resources on.

This always happens around this time of the year. Has to do with LCS and Worlds. It'll get better for a little while after all the big tournaments are over and they have no more big streams to cash in on.

At least Draven actively helps you line up skillshots by always showing you where he's going to move, and he loses all his damage if you have a single root or knockback. Most of the other marksmen aren't that inconsistent.

Pantheon is playable now without spending weeks studying how to force him to function in the current meta, and he actually has counterplay in lane. It might not be fun for the former Pantheon mains but if Aatrox mains can adapt Pantheon mains can too. The game as a whole became more fun for the majority of players.

Personally as someone that's been picking up Edge of night on new Pantheon, i think turning it into a passive effect would cause more harm than good - banshee's veil works because its primary wielders are long range casters that do not put themselves in harms way at all, and is primarily used to negate all-ins and surprise ganks. Melee champions do not have the luxury to stay outside the attack range of their opponents. Once the shield is popped, it'll only regenerate once they leave their lanes entirely, rather while carefully farming from safety. I see you're looking at Shaco after worlds. Perhaps you could take another pass at Pyke while you're at it?

Except that it can push an enemy from one side of a lane to the other, which will both activate and land it's stun and damage nuke. All you have to do is aim in the general direction of your opponent and they die. It's less interactive than, say, a Zed or Talon ult, so i felt it was worth bringing up. Imagine if Fizz's shark was an instant knockup instead of a slow-moving projectile followed by a timed knockup / nuke combo? That's kind of what Qiyana feels like.

I don't want her to not be able to perform oneshots at all - that's what all the assassins do. But she shouldn't be able to perform that oneshot ALL the time (even multiple times in single fights) or ACCIDENTALLY pick up a kill when she just intended to use her ult as a disengage (which i see happening a lot in diamond, where her ult does so much damage she didn't expect that she returns to the fight to pick up the kill on her pursuer.) As long as champions like Khazix and Akali are allowed to exist i think we can never truly call Qiyana overpowered. She's just slightly overtuned, is all. Probably to compensate for most league players being very slow learners.

But in reality it just ignores everything if the enemy is on the shield side, it doesn't seem right that draven R2, ornn R1 deals no damage. _Also facing karthus when he's casting his global R and blocking it is weired but draven R2 style attacks that hit from behind do no damage._ Still overall fair ability, actually has speed debuff if running away and a considerable cooldown. Mortal will bonus for it seems pathetic though, maybe give a mortal will stack at the end for the slam as well.

I agree there, there's practically never a reason to use his enhanced shield unless you're at the very start of the game as a jungler. It could use some kind of rework, or perhaps even move the slow from his Q to his E. I like how hard he falls off and how he generally loses auto attack duels - he plays like something in between gangplank and renekton and that leaves him with very clear windows of weakness, along with a considerable mana hunger and a lack of synergy with traditionally "broken" items. I'm hoping that he doesn't get nerfs OR buffs at the moment - just a quality of life change to his E. He doesn't need anything else.

Season 6 was the worst season in league of legends history. But season 7 had the lethality meta and afterwards the ardent censer meta. Season 6 was the actual train wreck, season 7 just caught fire.

Well, i won't argue that you can't find competent players in Diamond 2. But still. Look at the patch notes for 9.16. Nocturne gets... That's right. Damage buff and innate durability. More base armor. Because you know, assassins should be tanky so that they can build damage instead of defensive items.
