: Ive heard its because the client and in game arent connected. Well, they should connect them then. Ive seen this feature requested too many times and theres no good reason I've seen not to implement it, other than the work required to implement it, which imo, isnt a good reason for a company as successful as Riot. And I am talking solely about the mute carrying over, not blacklisting players to prevent being matched with them in the future.
Well that's one thing, the clients aren't connected, but it's also because there's no mute function outside the game. There's only block, and that works very differently. Say they just hotwire the clients together and make the mute carry over into a block. If you accidentally (or not) muted a friend, once you entered the post-game lobby your friend would be removed from your friends list and they wouldn't be able to message you at all because they're now on your block list. This actually used to be a feature back in the day, but Riot removed it because people kept accidentally removing and blocking their friends because of the mute. And there's no such thing as "just implement it" in business. People gotta approve the features, people gotta allocate budget, people gotta set priorities, etc. This might very well already be on their To-Do list, but there's 100 things that are more important they gotta do first.
: Maybe they are taking notes on what is happening at Blizz? Blizz reps kept on saying "you wont like classic" bla bla bla....they release it and it hits more players than retail...lol.... So if Riot will take notes and learn that the CUSTOMER is always right, they would do alot better.

The customer is very rarely right, and always doing what the customers say is probably the easiest way to quickly kill your business. Customers come second, the main priority is and should always be the employees. Happy employees who like working for you create a better product/service and by extension create happier customers. If you act like the customer is always right you're only giving power to the abrasive loudmouths who complain the most and loudest, AKA the ones you DON'T want as customers because they'll complain about something no matter what. People figured out this in 1914, so it shouldn't be anything revolutionary.
: Riot fucked up (again), and big time
I'd say a good majority of those threads are people confusing the account name with your in-game name. If you have auto-login enabled you don't even see it yourself, so I don't really understand what people are crying about. Even before the auto login stuff, you didn't even need to write your username in since the launcher kept it.
: Just make elder dragon just an auto win the game objective.
You guys complain to hell and back for months about how the game is decided at 5 minutes, so why do you care at all about an objective that at the extreme earliest can spawn 26 minutes into the game provided the same team kill all 4 dragons the instant they spawn? You're realistically only gonna see it 40+ minutes in, and at that point someone has already won 20 minutes ago since you guys say that games end at 20 minutes.

Some people wanted Aatrox to keep his banner wings, so they added that as an option since it didn't take too much effort.
: when is riot going to let people play this game? the card art is gorgeous and the lore in the cards is interesting.
Early 2020 if you've pre-registered for the closed beta, or later on in 2020 for the release version. Or you can watch LoR streams and get lucky (gotta link your accounts first), although that access is usually only for a couple of days. You might also get it by email if you're lucky and have pre-registered. In short, don't expect anything before early 2020 (it says Q1 so I'd expect March/early April).

: The modes didn't pull in players **because** they never dedicated any goddamn resources to them. If Summoners Rift had received the whopping **two patches of changes** that Treeline did in its lifetime, it would have failed too. I don't give a shit about business, I just want to play a fuckin' video game.
Doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks or wants, this is 100% a business question. Riot stopped putting resources into the modes because no one was playing them in the first place. From a business perspective, what is best? Potentially waste millions of dollars by redirecting resources into something only 5% of your customers want, or just cutting your losses then and there and put those resources towards something the remaining 95% already likes? For example, Riot put in a lot of money and effort to make the ARAM map because they saw that a ton of people already liked playing custom ARAMs. That's more or less a guaranteed return. Riot spent money and effort to completely rework Twisted Treeline, but it didn't give any results whatsoever aside from a temporary spike in players before it going back to normal. That was a straight up waste of time and money.

Not to mention this could actually give incentive to buy more champions cause you would be getting champions you don't have/play. Also screw Veigar. Litterally every 1/5 games I play in ARAM I swear.
How does random = every champion? If I roll a die the result is still random even if the die doesn't have every single number in the universe on it. Random just means it picks something random out of the available pool. Even if you somehow only had 2 champions available it would still be random, a figurative coin flip. I own ~120 champions so it doesn't really affect me either way (on the record I'm for Riot making all champions available), but saying "It's RANDOM" doesn't mean everything has to be available.
: 500. Every other champion that gains range stacking on either an ability or passive (Kindred, Kog, Twitch) have 500 base Range to compensate. No clue why Senna was treated with 600.
Because she has the slowest auto attacks in the game, taking twice as long to go off as everyone else. When she clicks you you've got enough time to walk the extra 50 units and auto attack her before her auto attack even lands.

The old client regularly crashed for me, and it also bluescreened my PC every 10 games or so. The store didn't load 8/10 times. Rune- and mastery pages wouldn't save half the time. The post-game window would never load so I couldn't report or honour people. It regularly didn't start when I clicked it, so I would have to task-manager it and open it again. I personally have 0 issues or bugs at all with the new client, but I'm not going around and praising it because I know some people are not as fortunate.
: Back in the day, supports could work on expensive tank/AP items lategame after finishing their 2nd or 3rd to leave room for pink wards all game. Now it's super hard to justify buying anything but cheap support items unless you are a mage or Senna/Pyke. Not a big deal but ultimately still a problem; it makes classic supports even flimsier than they should be.
Back in the days supports only got a gp10 item, wards, wards, wards, wards, wards, and maybe basic boots if they were lucky. Oh and wards.
: dont forget the yellow trinket guts the reason vision is being removed from the game is an attempt to make brawls happen and more rubber bandings. Look at games like starcraft, where decisions are based on the scouts you send throughout the game. Some people send an early harvester just to make sure they aren't being rushed. Now imagine if you couldn't scout at all in starcraft, it was all blind. it would lead to less skill and more random/brawly games, where anyone can win. League has turned into this and is a big reason why I think SKT is having a hard time winning. As time has went on, they just look more and more disorganized. This is due to the lack of vision throughout the game. It's a shame really. I think they shouldn't have gutted vision as much as they have. It's a big reason why games are so one sided now a days. It's even harder to make an accurate calculation on where the enemy is and what to do.
Nah, it's more like if the winning person could just permanently scout the entire map while the losing player can't even get an Overlord out of their base. The winning team in League just wards the entire map so the losing team can't even farm their own jungle without being ganked and dying. Of course for 95% of all players this literally doesn't matter at all because they can't even place the free wards they get, but it was a big problem in higher ranks and pro play.

A matchmaking incapable of handling edge cases? (And by edge cases I also mean matching players who are literally a few leagues apart). This isn't edge case in any way. The MM alg drops new ranked players into low gold matches to see if they 'sink or swim' to 'place them in the correct place' rapidly. It's pretty ridiculous that a player in a ranked ladder would start anywhere but at the bottom but there it is. System is designed to cater to players making alt accounts one after the other, does not cater to players who stay on the same account *or new players, just smurf accounts. The failings of this system are pretty obvious to us 'average' players in the high silver low gold elo. This is exactly that coin flip stuff people talking about. Having one inexperienced player on your team can be even worse than 4v5, because of the feed. Playing with less than 80% of the potential power of the opposing team takes most of the skill expression out of the game. When people say one bad player decides game, these are the games we're talking about, and it's pretty clear it happens all the time. I can play LoL for ten or so matches today, and provide at least two matches where we get a total new player to ranked that throws game.
MMR/Elo systems always drop you at the average. If you start everyone in Iron 4 you're gonna drag the average down to Iron 4, but since that's the lowest rating possible all those below average players will still get matched with people who are average or slightly above average. That also means that all the average players in silver will fall down to Iron 4 since that's where the average is now. Riot could artificially set the average to Grandmaster if they wanted to by putting all new players there.
: I found something worse than Riot's client
I've had this layout for months if not for over a year by now. It just keeps getting worse and worse with less features and larger icons.

Item changes must be made drastically to reduce damage power across the game. this too. warmogs used to give like 1300 or something health in the past. health items in the past gave far more health then now. defensive runes were better in the past. they had their own issues and were not perfect. but compared to todays defensive runes they were infinetly better.
It gave 1000 HP at most, but it only gave health and 1,5% maximum health regen per second. The current Warmogs give a lot more stuff. For 350 more gold you got the following: -200 HP +3,5% health regen/second +200% base health regen +10% CDR Which in terms of raw gold means you get 458,7 gold more stats for only 350 gold. Now if the extra health regen and CDR is better than just 200 HP I don't know, I'm not good with builds. But you can't deny you get more for your money nowadays than before.
TrulyBland (EUNE)
: At the end of the day that reduces the problem to a technical issue, though. It shouldn't be necessary to block people in order to not see their post-game chat, when you have muted them in that particular game. More than that, though, it is to some degree the same kind of technical difficulty that, for years, has made it impossible to have pre/post game chat logs in reform cards. If they've been able to fix that, I figure they could fix the mute-issue as well. Whether it's worth the required effort is, of course, an entirely different question.
There is no mute in the client, only block. They'd have to add a mute/unmute function to the client that only blocks messages first. But the only place you'd realistically use that feature would be in the post-game chat, so is it worth it to spend time and money adding that feature over other features or fixing bugs?
KingVagus (EUW)
: I want my mutes to persist post-game chat.
This used to be a thing, but Riot had to remove it because people were unintentionally blocking their friends all the time. If you muted a friend in-game it would block them, which removes them from your friends list and they can't message you or send any friend requests anymore. All it takes is a slight miss-click in the scoreboard and you'll have a really fun time trying to figure out where your friend went and why nothing works anymore.

People don't leave because URF is removed again, they leave while the mode is still available. They play 2-3 games of URF and then completely stop playing League altogether. And it's not just people who show up to play URF, it's regulars who play all the time who get burned out and leave.
: Then maybe stop with the low cooldown combo mage if it is such an issue?
But then you'll get all the people who suddenly are Ryze mains (despite having like 3 Ryze games vs AI in total) complain for months on the boards how Riot removes champions and destroy their identity. Happens every single time Riot reworks things that have no place in the game anymore.
: garen actually had the execution threshold on an indicator, more exactly, the villain-y thing became shinier when ur ult could execute someone. but yeah, I guess its meant to add more skill to the champ
That's because his ult would deal true damage at that point, so you knew how much damage his ability would do no matter what. Indicators are pretty much only good for ults that deal true damage, as resists will mess it up otherwise.
ZaFishbone (EUNE)
: Seriously, who tf thought it was appropriate to put level 30 accounts in upper silver. **Upper silver!** On my server, EUNE, at least, It's not actually a walk in the park to get to that point. You need to actually understand a few things about the game, and have at least ok mechanics on the champs you are playing.
It's because that's the average. Elo systems always start you at around the average, unless you do super well or super bad which gives you a slight boost in either direction.
: It also shouldnt be blocking attacks that go over and under it but here we are.
There is no "over" or "under" in League. Everything works from a flat plane on the ground, it's essentially a 2D top-down game but with an isometric camera to make it appear 3D. Riot would have to hard-code exceptions for specific abilities, and that's rarely a good thing to do cause that's what causes spaghetti.
: Aram champ selection hyper focused?
That's random for you. A couple of years ago I got Jax 5 games in a row and I owned at least 100 champions then. In a true random system you can get the same result a billion times in a row, although that's very unlikely. Humans are very good at seeing patterns where there are none however.
: Impossible to Start/Play League. [ Alot of people are having this problem ]
I fixed it by opening Legends of Runeterra. Since both games use the same launcher and LoR isn't available currently it logs me out of League, thus taking me away from the black screen.
: Doom bots is just splitpushing cheese because the AI tech isn’t there to respond yet. Also, gets boring fast, since they’re designed to beat you by being waaaay overpowered. PvE gamemodes drop off severely in popularity once people “beat” them. Usually mission artificially inflate their initial popularity and I can almost be certain peak PvE modes don’t even reach the lowest rate of people playing URF.
And you'd be correct. Look at the graph 7thHeaven posted, it shows that even if you added up the playtime of the other rotating modes it wouldn't even come close to the playtime of ARURF. Only TFT can challenge it in terms of playtime.
: But Yasuo skins sell. Tell riot to nerf Yasuo so the fan boys stop spamming him so much and then other champs can rise.
Yasuo could be the worst champion in the game and he'd still be one of the most popular ones. It's his kit and theme people like, not his numbers.

: Yasuo, Jinx, Akali, and popular champs get like 3 skins a year each
The simple answer is that Yasuo is more popular than those 4 champions put together and thus sells way better. Even a mediocre Yasuo skin sells more than an amazing Vel'Koz, Cho'Gath or Kog'Maw skin. Kha'Zix might come close though, he's played a lot but I don't know how popular he is as a character.

Making EVERYONE ON HER TEAM untargetable is insane, fun fact Lux was supposed to have an ability that gave everyone on her team Camo, that was taken out because not every champion in the game is balanced around being able to be camouflaged.
It's not that OP. They can't attack during, they're still vulnerable to AoE, and if you get close it just goes away. If the entire enemy team mists you could have anyone with an untargeted engage, such as Malphite, Amumu, Fiddlesticks or Leona just jump in and instantly negate it while getting a free pass to land their AoE CC on the entire enemy team.

One of the big reasons games lasted up to an hour was because some mages would instantly clear minion waves before they got even close to tower so the other team couldn't push at all. Then it was decided by a team fight in Baron pit because death timers were like 60+ seconds.
: I just wanted to play with Bronze Players, why Riot gotta put me with Plat players
It's because those Plat players have Bronze MMR in normals. The different queues don't influence each other so it's entirely possible to have a huge MMR gap if you only play 1 mode. To illustrate, say I'm a fresh player who just hit level 30 so I can play ranked. I start playing ranked and place in Iron. Over a couple of years I play only ranked and eventually reach Challenger. If I now go back to play normals it will still have my Iron MMR because it hasn't been updated since I stopped playing normals, even though I'm Challenger in ranked. I have to play a couple of normals for my MMR to skyrocket to where it's supposed to be.
: So can we get back scaling / late game / slower paced meta?
I'd rather not go back to games that last for 45 minutes and the first 30 minutes don't matter at all because everyone is full build (aside from the support who still only has boots and HoG) and it's gonna be decided by a single team fight in Baron pit. At that point Riot could just give everyone infinite gold and start at level 18 to save everyone 30 minutes, you'll get the same result anyway. 30-35 minutes is a good average, with the occasional 45-50 minute game to shake it up.
: Why tho? Do you dislike playing against her? And if yes, what's the most troubling part about her? The RQ burst? The shieldspam? The selfheal?
Personally, all of the above. She runs in at mach 5, hits you with a Q that takes out a good third of your HP while you're rooted and if you try to attack back she just heals and runs away again. I have no opinion on a revert though because old Karma is literally the only champion I never saw in game and I started played during early S2. She was incredibly unpopular, at least on EUNE.

Nah, Riot has said several times people don't leave because URF goes away, they leave while the mode is still available. They play a couple of games and then just stop playing League altogether.
: Improving matchmaking will probably improve player behaviour as well
I feel like 99% of all the "matchmaking sux" complaints are just people who have no idea what MMR is. It was hidden back in the day to remove ladder anxiety, but since people don't seem to understand how matchmaking actually works maybe Riot should show your MMR again. At least people will have to find something different to blame when they can see that everyone has more or less the same MMR even if their visual rank hasn't caught up to them yet.

Oh right, being able to talk is the only qualifier for being a human. I guess that implies that mute people aren't human since they can't talk, but parrots are humans since they can replicate the way we talk (even if they don't understand it, like a toddler). On a related note, regular house cats in the real world invented their own language (meowing) to communicate with humans because they realized we can't understand their normal ways of communicating. So regular cats do talk to us and we do understand them, even if they don't have distinct words.
: i haven't heard anyone complain about Panth at all, he's as good as the Sion, WW, Urgot, or Poppy reworks
I've seen a lot of people complain about Sion, Urgot and especially Poppy over the years. People were upset Sion didn't have his stun or his shield bomb and that he's a juggernaut now instead of a mage or a whatever his lifesteal build was. People were upset that Urgot isn't an ugly monster anymore and that his kit plays differently. People were upset that Poppy wasn't ugly and moody anymore and how they made her into a tank instead of a diver/assassin. Personally I've loved all those reworks (even though I was a big fan of pre-rework Urgot), but a LOT of people complained that Riot "deleted the old version" when they made the new ones. I think the only rework I've seen that was overwhelmingly positively received was Warwick, and even then I've seen a handful people complain on the boards that he's not connected to Soraka anymore.

: I don't really want to see the return of - 1 hour games with Anivia waveclearing for 40 mins until both teams have full build even though you were 10K gold down at 20 mins - The days of tanks out damaging the ADC for the first 30 mins of the game - The wet noodle fight tank top lanes where neither player has any ability to kill the other - The days of Ezreal being the only real ADC that had decent mobility (Tristana had rocket jump but it was interrupted by literally everything) - The Wombo-combo press R to win teamfight meta comps with Amumu + Morgana + Kennen nonsense - Bankplank with his three GP10 items hugging his tower for 30 mins. - Supports having basically zero gold - Supports breaking their backs trying to buy all the wards for the entire team (no warding trinkets). - Irelia just right clicking on you to death with true damage and self healing and a point and click stun with basically no counterplay. - The days of the jungler giving their mid the blue buff and raptors and giving the ADC red and basically being a 2nd support after lane phase Now season 9 and soon season 10 are not perfect by any means but there's been a LOT of things that have improved and I have no desire to go back to those days.

Don't forget these all-stars: - 4.20 Weedwick killing literally anyone with just red smite and a point-and-click ult. - League of Cleavers where it was a legit build to have 6 Black Cleavers on whatever champion you wanted. - Yorick walks into a bar, there is no counter. - AP Sion instakilling you with his stun. - Nidalee's literally invisible spears that hit like a nuke. - Literally anything about old Poppy. - Release Vlad/Sejuani/Xin Zhao/LeBlanc/etc - Evelynn stacking Sunfire Capes and killing you from stealth by just walking around - AP Yi - AP Tryndamere

They dont refuse? Are you serious about that? Because currently 19 champs havent gotten a skin in at least 1000 days. And its not like its difficult to produce a skin for them. Its just favouratism because yasuo's skins are going to sell more than skarner's. I dont mind the fact that yasuo has more skins. Its only natural. He is easy to make skins and he is profitable. However leaving a champ without a skin for 1000+ is NOT acceptable (unless he is up for a rework or something). Especially when said champs are not that difficult to make a skin off.

Difficulty isn't the issue here, it's money. Why spend time and money making a skin that will be a pure monetary loss when they could instead make a skin that's a monetary gain? That's basic business 101. And if we're talking favouritism it's the community's favouritism that's the issue. Once players stop buying Lux skins in the hundreds of thousands Riot will stop making Lux skins as often.

: ARAM is really SCEG: Same Champions Every Game thanks to ARAM accounts
ARAM accounts have little to nothing to do with that, there's not as many as you want to believe. The reason you keep seeing the same champions is because of rerolls and the bench. You never see Udyr because no one will keep him unless no one on their team has any rerolls or they're an Udyr main, but you'll see Lux every time she's rolled because she's great in ARAM. The only way to make it "actually RANDOM" is to remove rerolls, remove the bench, no bans, and make it so you can't just dodge to get a new champion. If you get Udyr you have to play Udyr, no ifs or buts. And people will absolutely hate that, because they're all for "diversity" until they're forced to play something they don't like.
: Its harder to display a legitimate outplay these days
To be fair, people said all of that stuff before too just as often. It's never their fault and the opponent never outplayed them, they just picked an OP champion that automatically makes the player good at everything. It's the same in every other multiplayer game, not just League. I've never once encountered someone who says "wow he sure outplayed me there" without being sarcastic after they've died.

I'll never understand this "people should all be quiet" kind of corporate worship.
Except that's not what the OP meant? They're saying that the boards shouldn't misrepresent or berate Riot if we want Rioters to post here. You shouldn't act like companies are your friends, but you can at least treat the people working for that company like people.
: I would like to see in the skin concept lead position rather than whoever is in there. Favouritism is in its peak in riot's skin team. Lazy af, giving 30+ skins to a popular champ where champion like orn, reksai, kindred etc are fogotten projects.
It's not Riot playing favourites, they're making skins that are actually profitable. The rift between popular and unpopular is incomprehensibly gigantic. Skins for unpopular champions barely sell at all, so they're more or less straight up monetary losses. For example, Stellari revealed that one really high quality skin for an unpopular champion didn't even sell enough to cover her annual wage and she didn't even make 6 figures at that time. Someone did the maths and calculated that it sold at most 9000 copies worldwide across all servers, but most likely it was lower than that. Meanwhile Riot could've spent that time, money and effort to make an average Ahri skin and sell tens if not hundreds of thousands of copies. Any time Riot makes skins for champions like Ivern, Ornn, Maokai or Aurelion Sol they're basically just doing it to be nice since they sure as hell won't make their money back in 99% of the cases.
: Yea, Braums cost Mana, is smaller, and only ignores the first projectile, and the rest are at MAX 40% reduced......
It's almost as if a skirmisher and a melee tank support isn't the same thing, imagine that? Braum also gets to move his shield, he gets movement speed, he's ghosted, it has almost half the cooldown, and it lasts longer.
: Will League EVER return to slower gameplay?
I'd rather not go back to "the first 30 minutes don't matter at all because it's all decided by a singular team fight at 40-50 minutes, but not before the mages stall the game out for another 10-20 minutes due to instantly clearing the minions".
