: >there's no way that they could This statement doesn't really hold true in a world like Runeterra. Mordekaiser managed to come back from death by pure willpower alone, not to mention that we have tons of other examples of people defeating death. The black mist of the shadow isles is one force able to do that, but not the only one. {{champion:111}} {{champion:555}} {{champion:32}} {{champion:14}} {{champion:9}} (I know, he gets updated soon, but in his current lore that is considered canon to the point of his update he is a ghost that possessed a scarecrow) In the world of Runeterra, I don't think that it is too farfetched that a combination of hextech and chemtech could potentially bring someone back from the dead. __________________ And I would argue that Ajuna coming back could actually add quite some to Ekko's lore. He regrets that he wasn't able to save Ajuna back then. Now imagine what would happen to Ekko emotionally if Ajuna returns as a perverted monster. And if the new Ajuna would stand for everything Ekko tries to fight in the depths of Zaun. But opinions can differ about this topic. _______________ That being said, do you have any own ideas what this masked champion who refuses to die could be?
This is, there is a difference between an undead/resurrected champion and making a champion out of a lore-wise dead character.

: As I mentioned in the other thread, the idea that ALL Vastayan have shapeshifting kind mocks the idea of them. Xayah doesn't like humans, makes herself look like them? That's not how it's suppose to go. Sett get's thrown out because he's not Vastayan's enough, doesn't use his apparently natural ability to shapeshift to make yourself more Vastayan. Does Rengar choose to be like that or is it just who he is? Neeko is of an older tribe of Vastayashai’rei so should shapeshift but all the other should be locked into their forms. Honestly, just as silly as when a Rioter said in a Twitter post that Ascendeds could choose their own junk during Ascension.
I don't think it's problematic to assume that different tribes, and in those tribes different people, would have variable levels of anthropomorphism and ability to change. Maybe all Kiilash are naturally more cat-like than Lhotlan are bird-like. Those are ancient races, they could have evolved differently after the initial vastaya/human breeding.
: My problem with Vastayas
I think Rakan and Xayah have gone through magical process to make themselves look "more human", with limited success. Ahri we can assume is kind of the same concept. I think it's confirmed that Vastayas have mild shapeshifting abilities in general, and adopt different level of anthropomorphism. As for Sett, he's only half-vastaya, so 3/4 human, in a sense. Edit: [source on shape-shifting](https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/gXQ2ndit-vastaya-humans-vs-vastaya-inhumans?comment=0000)

: The problem is Riot has decided that there can only be 2 subclasses per class, and this has led them to their ridiculous counter-sense sorting. If Juggernauts were in with the Tanks, I'd have no issue with them, and frankly I see separating the Enchanters out from the other Mages as another example of Riot's pathetic attempts to be different and stand out. Riot can stick their fingers in their ears and go 'Well, aktchually...' whenever someone calls a Juggernaut a tank, but that won't change the fact that by every definition except their own, champs like Mundo ARE tanks. They walk like tanks, talk like tanks, build and play like tanks; **they are tanks** and that's all there is to it.
The thing is that Juggernauts are not defined by a very high level of tankiness, just that they are *overall* the third most tanky subclass, after Vanguards and Wardens. The thing is that what defines a Juggernaut compared to a Tank is that Tank are not based on their damage, while Fighters (Juggers/Divers) are.

: I'm not sure what Riot is up to these days. The PBE is nothing more than a means to make sure the game doesn't crash after patch rather than wow, this is broken. Game just sort of went downhill some day and it lost what it used to be. It's still fun at times, but when it's not, extremely noticeable now :/
> The PBE is nothing more than a means to make sure the game doesn't crash after patch rather than wow, this is broken. This has always been its purpose… PBE was *never* meant to be used for balance. Never.
IainG10 (EUW)
: My favourite example of this completely braindead and just plain wrong classing system is that Mundo, the tankiest character is the game, is not a tank... I get that Riot want to be different, but the fact that both their classing system goes against EVERY other game AND the fact that they don't even obey their own class guidelines show that in this case they are just talking out of their asses....
The level of tankiness of a character doesn't define a tank by Riot's terminology. You might argue that it's dumb, but that's really just arguing semantics. A "Tank" in Riot's classification is a tanky disruptor, one that either engages or protects through CC and defensive abilities. Juggernauts are beefy damage dealers that lack strong CC or peeling tools. Mundo being tankier than Tanks doesn't make it more a Tank by that definition. He does lack CC and peeling abilities. Also, Juggernauts tend to be tanky through HP while Tanks are tanky through resistance, and you'll see that it matches. Mundo is just a big meat bag that uses regeneration to stay alive, like Darius, Illaoi or Mordekaiser. Tank tend to survive through %damage reduction, resistance buffs and shields, like Galio, Braum or Malphite. For all intents and purposes, Mundo is indeed not a Tank by Riot's definition, he's just an extremely tanky Juggernaut.
: Are We Really Going To Start Another Season Without Addressing Damage Creep?
Season 9: "Can we please address damage creep? Tanks aren't even useful now because damage is too high!" Riot: *nerfs multiple damage sources* Season 10: *tanks are relevant again* "Can we please address damage creep??"
: This is going to end pretty badly, much worse than Kalista (RIP), unless his numbers are perfectly balanced, he'll be absolutely busted. From what I can see, Aphelios will be an extremely safe champ in the right hands due to his Jack-of-all-trades kit (Self-Peel, In-built sustain, poke+ seemingly powerful follow ups to it, Waveclear and sustained damage. The only thing that seems to be missing is burst damage, unless his ultimate's numbers are overturned. Until we see how his kit will work on PBE, there isn't any 100% certainty on whether his kit will have to be nerfed or, in an unlikely situation, buffed. He seems like an adc that requires you to know how to play every type of adc Poke (Ezreal, Cait), All in (Lucian, Kalista), Hardcarry (Kai'sa, Kog'maw) Self-Peeling (Ashe, Xayah). Needless to say, this new champion's release and lifespan is going to be one hell of a show. BTW, he's probably going to be primarily built as an on-hit/hybrid champion, cause that ALWAYS ends well. Good day everyone!
> From what I can see, Aphelios will be an extremely safe champ Ah yes, your typical extremely safe ADC with no mobility, no untargetability, no invisibility, no defensive tool, and barely one hard CC he can't always access.

> I mean what is the "Identity of the Support"? As a support main, I'd say the identity of the support is enabling your teammates, and giving them the tools to carry. The way it is done can greatly vary. Sometimes, oppressing laning is the way of enabling your carry.
Kazekiba (NA)
: That's because prior attempts at making support feel impactful and active failed on a solo queue level. Autofillers were still going Lux/Brand or dodging/trolling even with Taric, Zeke's Herald, Redemption, Shurelya's resurrection, and Sightstones removal. Riots done a lot to rebrand Support but it won't change the players perception of it, so they're tackling it in a newer unique way. And if Senna proves too strong, they can always slow down her dps in favor of her support playstyle. Hopefully they can make more supportive AD items for her+pyke and other future AD support champions season 10 enables
> Riots done a lot to rebrand Support but it won't change the players perception of it I remember the revolution that was Thresh for the support role, back in the day. This was a badass, edgy character with lots of skill expression that showed was supports could be.
koshkyra (NA)
: Riot is sacrificing the identity of the support role to make it more “fun” and appealing.
Riot has made two supports that are more damage-oriented because the traditional support style already exists in the game. Besides, they made Yuumi recently, which is your most typical Enchanter. You have {{champion:12}} {{champion:432}} {{champion:53}} {{champion:201}} {{champion:40}} {{champion:43}} {{champion:89}} {{champion:117}} {{champion:25}} {{champion:267}} {{champion:111}} {{champion:497}} {{champion:37}} {{champion:16}} {{champion:223}} {{champion:44}} {{champion:412}} {{champion:350}} {{champion:26}} {{champion:143}} that fulfill the more traditional supporting style, with either frontlining, engaging, protecting or buffing, and some poke damage. Then you have {{champion:555}} and {{champion:235}} and suddenly Riot "is sacrificing the identity of the support role"? They're just finding fantasies that don't exist yet. I love enchanters and frontliners, but I'm also glad to have alternative, unusual styles available. Yes, there are some mages in the botlane, but that is a more complex matter, and frankly it's often a problem in soloQ more than in proplay, so maybe we're just not good enough to deal with them.
