: Being a shen 1trick on my main account..... They just reworked shen a couple years ago.... They're not going to change him or his lore anytime soon. The best you'll see are stat changes to his current form ingame
This is less of a call to action and more of a place for people who are fans of the champion to discuss what they would like to see done with him. Shen is a champion with heaps of potential and I'm sure Riot is not 100% done with working on him yet. They will probably revisit him one day. At the moment though, pooling our opinions in a singular thread will allow riot employees to see what players value about the champion.

: Thank you for making this topic! Shen is probably my favourite champion in this game (second being Akali, I just have a thing for ninja I guess). I think Shen is in a good spot lorewise, but I do have some questions : __What does the Eye of Twilight do exactly ? __ Yes he maintains the balance between the spirit realm and Runeterra, but I want more. What was Kusho/is Shen position in Ionia ? Are they important ? __Will we get one day some Shen content that doesnt involve Zed in some ways ?__ I just want Shen to exist without Zed. Zed has conflicts, many conflicts where Shen isnt always involved (the Vastayas, Noxus, his battle with the shadows, etc.). Meanwhile, Shen's story is all about how Zed destroyed his life and Jhin, with one (1) story that shows how he works alone. I want developpment. I dont want my favourite champion to be dependant of another champion forever.
Thank you for your response! I really want Shen to play a bigger part in the overall story of League. He is maintaining balance for all of Runeterra, we should get to see some of the amazing struggles he has to go through in order to accomplish that. We did have that story about him saving Noxus in his previous lore but getting to see more of that would be great. It would be nice to see him pop up in stories all over the place anytime the spirit world is getting out of control.

Obviously that would hypothetically be up to whoever did a full rework but this post isn't about gameplay at all really. What exactly makes Shen iconic for you in particular? I would be glad to hear your point of view on this. He already doesn't play like shen. The champion named shen ingame rn is not shen, it's a failed experiment riot still hasn't reverted. MAking him a samurai instead of a ninja would just make it so visually he ain't shen either anymore. What made him iconic to me? the fact that he threw swords at people, that he was a tank duelist, his satisfying as hell passive and then his ult/taunt. Shen doesn't need a rework gameplay wise, he needs a revert. Thematically he's just fine, well aside from the degenerate ghost sword.
I too miss the days of being able to build attack speed to proc Ki Strike, or farming from ranged with Vorpal Blade. As for his theme though; I feel it fit the old Shen much better but that if Riot won't do a revert then it is better overall to push even further forward. His lore state is much different than it once was and the role of the Eye of Twilight has become big enough/fleshed out enough that I think his current theme is mostly just holding him back.
: yeah let's turn him in a samurai so he not only doesn't play like shen but also doesn't look like shen.
I don't see why he couldn't retain a Tank playstyle while having a Shogun theme? : Honestly. I not sure the title of "Eye of Twilight" nor the Kinkou Order means so much to the rest of Ionia like we think it does. Just my speculation, but considering that Zed defiled and essentially banished the Kinkou from their own monastary/sacred grounds. That on the whole, most people of Ionia havent seemed to cared and are pretty complacent with the Order of Shadow's hostile take over. Like it's not that the Kinkou Order is under Zed's new management, it's an entirely different Order and all the Kinkou were straight up exiled. If Kinkou actually had any significant sway in Ionian society or even culture how is that Zed has maintained a foothold in such a 'inportant' monastery, like wheres the resistance? Or at least the story of how Zed pulled off the takeover needs elaborating upon as that should have a very interesting explanation.
I thought about that too. This mostly goes into speculation territory since we don't really know how much the average Ionian knows about what happened. It's possible that the average Ionian doesn't know all that much about what happened at the Kinkou Monastery. We don't really know how open Shen would be with such information or how open the Kinkou is to anyone in general. For instance, when they asked Kusho to investigate the Golden Demon he publicly said no but investigated in secret. All we really know is that Kusho himself was at least decently famous and well known, such as this part from Jhin's lore. > Depicted in a variety of plays and epic poems, the capture of the 'Golden Demon' would be the seventh and final great feat in the illustrious career of Lord Kusho.
