I'm not sure why you're acting like he was. Um no. The superbowl numbers are counting the television audience only. The viewership of lol worlds is multiple games over a stream. Not the same thing at all. Further, there is far more guess work in identifying unique viewership on streaming. Moreover, the Chinese audience was huge because a Chinese team was in the finals. I really don't care how many Chinese are watching. Here in the states, more people care about their local high school football game than give a crap about pro lol. Heck. Even on these boards, many of them are far more active than this one.

: I pray for TL, NA.
I wouldn't exactly call being the second seed without problem. G2 was about the only one that got out easily. And even they had that little uh "problem" where they choked away first place. And all 3 of our teams would have gotten out of Splyce's group. That was the easiest group since sliced bread.

EU coming over to our board in a toxic manner and complaining about toxicity. That's Irony.

: Cluth right now (or any team in similar situations)
Doesn't feel horrible to them at all. They were glad to make it and glad to be there and glad to be playing in that group. They need seat time more than anything else. They didn't grouch about it. Unlike Fnatic and their fans who were toxic about it, Clutch embraced it. To their credit SKT embraced it too. They said of course it's the group of death..... Because we're in it.
Dameshi (NA)
: I think people are sleeping a bit on Liquid. Even in some interviews of players within NA, they made it clear that TL is the best team in our region and it's not close. They beat IG at MSI, they took down Damwon who a lot of analysts had sitting easily at the top of the group. We may have a little ways to go as a region still, but I have full faith TL will make NA proud. Let's give them our support, GO TL!

We may have a little ways to go as a region still, but I have full faith TL will make NA proud. Let's give them our support, GO TL! Liquid is right there. They just have to bring it in now. Difficult given the competition but not impossible. They are capable of beating IG. They are capable of beating Damwan. They just have to go out and do it. And really when you think about C9, today was terrible yes. They weren't in either the Griffin game or the G2 game. But if you really look at what cost them their worlds, it was abandoning their split push against Griffin the first time they played. They had em on the ropes. That was their chance. And that's the one that would stick in my craw if I were a c9 player. And they were ahead of G2 the first time they played too. Though it certainly wasn't the golden opportunity that the first Griffin game was, they had a chance in that one too. That is what happens when you're the underdog. When you have a chance, you have to capitalize because otherwise, you might get steamrolled. And that is what happened to c9 today.
XRTC (EUNE)
: G2 losing 2 games to Griffin is the end of my interest to Worlds 2019
G2 has room to play a lot better I think. They are like a team of Dardochs. They never see a bad fight they shouldn't take until after they're all in the fountain. They win hard. They go down hard. It's fun to watch whether they win or lose.

EUNE is about the same size as the NA. EUW is about half again bigger. So EU has 2.5 times the player base we do. Korea is slightly smaller than EU but their player base is ga ga. China has a huge player base. Further, we don't have anything the equivalent of EU masters. And the Turkey and Russia leagues are pretty much EU farm leagues too. So pretty much the only mechanism we have to find and develop talent is the academy teams plus college lol which is mostly recreational but for a small top tier league. Which leaves us having to bring in talent. But we sure showed the LMS who their daddy is :) NA is full of fair weather fans. Just look at some of the soccer teams that never win the premier league. They still have rabid fans. NA lol.... Not even cluse.

Uh 2016 olympics Track and field USA 32 medals Kenya 13 Jamaica 11 Ethiopia 8. Great Britain 7 Canada 6. So NA had 3 of the top 6 countries in track medals. And you can't say there are no tracks anywhere else. Further down the list the Bahamas chipped in 2 and Mexico chipped in 1. How bout we go to Swimming. USA 33 Austrailia 10 Hungary 7 Japan 7 HAHA 33 medals for the USA and Europe's best country has 7. Canada chipped in 6 more for NA. And don't even try to tell me Europe never heard of a swimming pool. Overall the USA took 121 medals home from Rio. Canada chipped in 22 Jamaica chipped in 11 Cuba 11 Mexico 5 Bahamas 2 Puerto Rico 1 Dominical Republic 1 Not too shabby actually. We compete and win in nearly everything we give a crap about. Looking at the medals we also won in some sports we don't give a crap about.

: I guess i will get some hate for it but... Last year, NA won their first B05 in worlds hisotry. Thats nice; especially since it was a gainst a korean team. But winning a single bo5 in several years doesnt suddenly make NA great - especially not as a region. Acting like any of their teams are favorites based on that single win? I think thats a bit over the top. In this regard, i think the years of complete korean domination say more about the regions strength then this single success.. which might've simply been a fluke. The other two NA teams didn't perform well at all. As usual, i might add... And C9 got absolutly stomped in semis. That wasn't a competitive game at all. The same goes for TL's success at MSI. NA had two standout moments, and they got hardstomped immidiatly after. Thats far below the track reckord of korea/china/EU. I have news for you. When it comes to worlds championship, you may have champagne taste like Korea. But you're on a beer budget like us NA rif raf. Korea has 5 titles and 4 runners up at worlds. EU has one title and two runners up. But the title and one of the runners up were in year 1. That year, worlds wasn't even called worlds, regions weren't really formalized and they didn't even have a summoner's cup. Beyond that EU has one runner up. Fnatic again. So in effect, EU has a bunch of knockout stage participation ribbons. So leave the Dom Perignon on the shelf and pick up the Budweiser because when it comes to worlds, you're not in Korea's league. And you'll need to win some more worlds titles and have more runners up before you are.

I think getting out of groups depends upon Griffin. They have a history of choking. If they keep it up, a spot opens up for C9. G2 have been known to throw a time or two also. : TSM :( !Worlds!
TSM won in the days of sign the most mechanically skilled players, win lane, find one team fight, win game. They never had much in the way of macro. But now that everyone has caught up to them in talent, that style isn't winning any more. They made a huge mistake letting doublelift go as it turns out. Of course hindsight is 20/20. Doublelift was getting older in a young mans game and he was having motivation issues. So I can see why they did it. But it turned out wrong. They made a change to do better at worlds but in so doing, they haven't even made it to worlds.

: General opinions after watching the 1st 2 days of play-ins
My thoughts. Isurus and DFM didn't disappoint me. I really didn't have much faith in either to begin with. Renekton is strong. but drafting him early will require a couple of bans for him. Ranged vs Melee worked out in favor of the ranged for the most part. Mega should be 2-0 and Hong Kong Attitude should be 0-2. If Mega doesn't make it, that's the one they will probably want back. In any case, I wasn't impressed with Hong Kong Attitude today nor any other team in that group. If they want to advance further than this stage, They're going to need some improvement and/or adjustments. Royal Youth was seen by many as one of the best of the wild card teams. They certainly didn't show it today. Hopefully Clutch had their hiccup and will go 2-0 tomorrow. They don't want to be #2 out of their group. There was quite a bit of indecisiveness imo. It usually cost the indecisive team. I'm not sure what to make of Damwon. They weren't all that impressive. But is that because they aren't all that impressive or because they knew they didn't need to be to win and didn't want to reveal anything. Probably the latter. The Brazil fans were loud and proud.

Dyrus and Balls (Quas is an amazing top laner but he's basically an import) are the most noteable toplaners of the "old guard" of top laners in NA, and they are 100% like the new guard of NA top laners (hauntzer, BB) . too resource intensive and a real need of counter picking to win lane. Broken blade is no help for NA too cause he's basically tfblade 2.0 (memes intended) with all the meta spamming (akali, jax, irelia, vlad} . the only actually good top laners are imports (Huni, Impact) and the only note worthy homegrown top laner is probably Licorice. His pick up on Hec last season was an amazing pocket pick. this region has no hope in achieving glory with having such a focus in counter picking and spamming ranged champions in top lane. 2/3 "na teams" have import toplaners claim them as NA but everyone in the world knows that top lane in NA is joke Broken Blade isn't home grown. He's originally from Germany and has residence in Turkey.
: This game is absolute trash for the last 3 years
If the game were truly trash for three years, you wouldn't be playing it, and you wouldn't bother posting.

: I am going to say I think the team management is extremely poor. They completely throw out results based analysis in favor of, this feels better. Example... undefeated with Grig... let's put Akadian in.... over an over. They need to get away from feels and on to... hey that works... let's do that more.

: Doublelift goes to the team that can carry him. Back when he was on CLG, he couldn't do anything because he didn't have someone who could carry him. Jensen carried him these last 2 splits and Xmithie carried him during his first tenure on Liquid. Bjerg/Hauntzer carried him in the previous splits. He's a smart guy. Go to the team that can get you the ship is a good strategy and there is nothing wrong with that... but there is a reason he can't compete internationally. That's because he is bottom tier talent once he gets over there and the people who carried him in NA can't really carry him at Worlds. He's a regional player and if you want to be successful regionally, then DL is your guy as long as you have strong laners who can carry him... but he's a paperwieght in international play. TL better off trying to trade him before Worlds even starts. One of my favorite moments in LOL history is when DL tweeted last year before their game to make it out of groups saying, "I will not lose!" and his very next tweet was, "Sorry to all my fans" XD He's just toxic and loves the attention. Don't give him the satisfaction and call a spade a spade. And I don't have any trophies... because I'm not on a professional team... but if I played on TL with Impact, Xmithie, Jensen, and CoreJJ... yeah... i'd win every split too XD

: I give it to the Cloud9 Twitter. I mean cmon...it's screwed how many teams including themselves? It is by far the most dangerous entity coming into Worlds!

: The title of MVP for Clutch Gaming goes to.....
That's a good choice. But I'm going to give it to Broken Blade for hovering Lucian and pissing Huni off. Huni was a monster.
: Not bad but this would have been an acceptable choice as well: https://youtu.be/IoyvvEWHodk
Very acceptable. Of course there is always this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE Oh wait. That's TSM's new theme song.
