: If you're here because of the Blizzard China thing, do realize that Riot Games is owned by Tencent meaning China has a lot of influence on the game.

: Here's some great advice I think would help you. Try maining 1 character and get really good with them. While mastering that character you will start to understand how other characters play. Once you feel comfortable with your main you can slowely branch out to try new stuff.

For the most part, that's what i've been doing. I been trying to pick Varus every time I get. but sometimes I have to pick other things like Ashe

: If turrets can be damaged by abilities...
Go play Heroes of the Storm! Thats how it works over there :P
: Find a Champ you like. It takes some time but once you find that one champion that you really like, You'll have fun. Then just keep expanding your pool of champs that you can rotate around, and wins will just come flying towards you.

It isnt as hard as you think it is to find someone i like, There's a decent bit of overlap between HotS heroes and League of legends' :D

There really is no one like rag in lol, For ranged, ashe is like if jaina and valla had a love child. She is also very strong right now and is pretty much always useful even if you are behind.

Varian stances depends on the game, you go Prot if you need a tank, you go smash if you need damage and you go Twin blades if you need to lose. I've tried out ashe in a couple games (with decent success), i feel like shes a bit more like Hanzo/jaina, but shes quite fun, I just seem to prefer Varus over her though. His spells are pretty cool (also Hanzo-ish with the Q) and he seems to do more damage too, atleast, the way I've played both of them.
: Well, Worlds is going on right now. Once you get a basic handle on the game, you can watch that and see what *can* be done. Don't assume you're going to be able to replicate literally any of it, but you can take ideas from it and kinda learn how to understand the game better, as well as understand the meta more (although meta at that tier is not the same as meta at this tier) Specifically for the AFKs and flamers, you just have to keep playing. Once you get past a point they tend to become far less common, because Riot permabans them but doesn't have restrictions from creating a new account (Unless you happen to get an ID ban, but that can only really apply to streamers). The reason there's no bot to take over once you AFK is because League's somewhat complex, and even a good AI would struggle to play at an even semi-competent level. It's better to be fighting a 4v5 than a 4v6, because you can actually win a 4v5.

I dont believe watching professional players is a viable way to learn, its more of a hobby thing than an educational thing. I think im better off just watching Youtubers, streamers and mostly looking at websites that show statistics on who is good now and who is not. Im aware of the (OMG _____ IS SO OP YOU GOTTA TRY IS 100% WINRATE PEEPEE IN MY BUMBUM PLEASE) youtubers that i shouldnt follow. my rule is, generally the more entertaining/excited they are, the less good they are at teaching. I'd actually say Heroes of the Storm is a significantly more complex game in terms of playing, and they managed to create bots that are legit competitive (at times) namely the higher mechanical heroes they are quite good, and you have the option to make the bot follow you by pinging on it and send it places by pinging for assistance or to be careful at certain places.

: What role did you prefer to play and which heroes did you like to play? I can at least give you some ideas on which champs line up well with those that you are familiar with

: As a long time hots player, your team fighting should be very good compared to the average lol player. Learn how to cs and understand that damage is a lot higher in lol compared to hots. In both the ammount delt and the speed at which it comes out. Cs is by far the hardest thing you will have to learn.

: Get lucky. Honestly, this game is worse when it comes to leavers.
