: I would recommend you to wait until next season. But even then dont play ranked for couple of months, cuz of 2 reasons: 1. every1's rank will reset so it will be a shitshow, to say the least. Wait until the dust settles (both in ranked and balance-wise) then you'll have much better experience imo. 2. Since youre new, take your time to learn the game. Find the role(s) you will main, champs you will main, preferably learn a lil bit of supporting since autofill will most likely put on support. Learn how to play the lane, your champ, learn a lil bit about the meta, etc. One of the 1st advices I saw regarding ranked is to play at least 200 or so normals before going in ranked. During that time you should learn the game enough to be decent at the game. Ofc you dont have toi lliterally play that much if you dont want/ you cant, but the point is that more games played = learn the game better.

Thank you for the advice, I cannot upvote yet, but when I can I will make sure to do so!
: If you are playing only 2 games a day and only level 23, well then, just ignore all the other replies because here's your real answer: you probably aren't even going to make it to level 30 before next preseaon, unless you paid for XP boosts.

I mean Sunday I played for 6 hours haha, during the work week I really only get a few games in a day, and yes I paid for a weeks xp boost.

: God I love Garen so much. I love running down those annoying immobile mages under tower and popping them open with the JUSTICE they deserve. {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:86}}

: Probably of how easy he is to pick up and master. There's no real depth to Garen. And in my opinion the way he plays is the complete opposite of his lore. He's presented to be courageous in lore but kinda plays like a coward because of his passive.

He's presented to be courageous in lore but kinda plays like a coward because of his passive. I just started playing 2 weeks ago, and watched a video saying Garen is a great place to start. It was not until after that I found all the memes and hatred videos for him on youtube. He was a great champion to learn the mechanics of the game (100% still need to learn ALOT more)
: I feel like riot is stuck in a positive feedback loop where all their cool new skins are for champions that are "popular", but really they sell skins because they receive all the new skins that are cool and have more effects. I feel like if they were to crank out skins for unpopular champions at the rate they do for popular champions they would make unpopular champions into popular champions.

Just because a champion is mainstream doesn't mean other champions don't have cult followings. It would drive sales for them on underappreciated champions and make the ppl playing them happy.
