that's not really due to support items, that's just soraka being soraka. they dont have to spend gold to upgrade the items sure, but it gives them stats they dont really want as much as the old support items, they lose the gold generation once fully upgraded. many posts have talked about how the new items are more of a nerf than a buff.

that early on you can have stop watch, but more importantly you can stay behind minions or out of their range to avoid their 1 skillshot. later in the game those items i listed help you even further to avoid all their stuff, along with still staying out of their range. if you fucked that up you at least have flash and your heals/shields to get out of jail free.

The problem with Pyke's ult is that it's basically spammable and his mobility/stealth/cc makes it much much much more easier to deliver than any of the other executes, it's even superior to Darius' execute chain as you have a much better chance to scatter/get away from Darius. And let's not forget about free gold component that just sends it to the next level of broken. Pyke's ult needs to be gutted. The extra gold completely removed or at least reduced to no more than 100g per kill participant, the HP threshold lowered and the resets limited by some mechanical requirement. After all that, Pyke would still be a monster.
for now what i would like to see as counterplay against pyke ult is to show when he's able to execute you. that way you dont sit near 40%-50% hp and think your safe when in reality he's able to execute you. also maybe tone down the movement speed he gets during his W so he cant get out for free.

No, I don't think having a 52% win rate over 1000 games is OMG SO BROKEN AND UNBALANCED AND IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY AGAINST!!!!! And the 56% guy being the anomaly. Naut pulls you from a similar distance but then not only snares you with his long distance auto but then applies a slow, and god forbid he is 6 because then it becomes a knock up. And thresh. Thresh lands a Q, that pulls your in slightly, then flays you even closer in while applying a slow.. and then boxes you for an even longer slow. Pyke is VERY overloaded and needs his sustain and damage nerfed more but don't you dare pretend his only skillshot is the issue when he has a fucking execute reset ultimate jesus christ I hate that champion.

I don't know if giving Yasuo's E an ammo mechanic would be a good idea, but it should be something that could be explored. Blue Kayn is unfair in general, and perhaps shouldn't be going so fast through terrain. He's not *overpowered*, just lacks counterplay and fairness if he's even slightly ahead. Katarina feels okay because she's very predictable, similarly to Zed. Irelia and Pyke are also too mobile, though I don't know what I'd do to fix them.
blue kayn is an assassin, get rid of that movement speed and he cannot get onto anyone. irelia and yasuo are only mobile with enemy minions around. fuck kat and pyke though, i hate them and how safe they are.

they either need to nerf his base dmg from abilities, or the ap scaling, or the mana scaling. mana is just way too easy and cheap to come by to scale off of it. with vlad scaling with Hp, there's not a REALLY good hp with ap item like seraph/roa is to ryze. an idea you can try is to just remove his ap scalings totally and just make his damage scale only with mana. bonus ap is converted to mana. weird idea but its unique. kinda like how pyke cant build HP but it gives him ad, except with ryze you cant build ap but it'll give him mana which acts like ap. this removes his double scaling on his abilities and they can focus on balancing him around mana items.

they just really have to tone down or remove his mana scaling, tone down his ap ratios, or gut his base damages, getting high amounts of mana is way too cheap and accessible with so many items giving so much of it out. ({{item:3040}} +1400 mana ) its why vlad is also a bit of a problem, cause he scales with HP pretty well which lets him build tanky but still have damage thanks to it converting to ap and vice-versa.

Hell, half of them can auto for that much by that point. You're a bit late to be ragging on the enchanter/healer meta.
if we're not taking items into play here, the assassins wont be doing tht much with 1 ability. if you want to take into consideration all the assassins abilities then we could do the same for supports. {{champion:497}} shields twice with a heal, {{champion:267}} heal bounces to heal twice and do dmg i believe and gives ms, {{champion:432}} can heal you 3 times, {{champion:37}} heal+shield on one ability, {{champion:16}} dummy thicc heal with regen, {{champion:350}} heals twice with ms, {{champion:26}} your whole HP bar + his revive. {{champion:40}} 220 shield and a 200 over time heal. all this is mentioning only their heals and shields without their cc abilities. so pretty much an assassin without items vs support without items doesn't beat the support. do assassins need major buffs? no, do they need to add a shield killing item? personally i'd say yes, do they need to stop delaying assassins dmg? yes. that fizz rework where you had to wait around 3secs to do your burst was dumb.

The rest were minimalistic. So in general, the reworks, with 1 exception, gave you more ways to work around their burst, see Kata nowadays. The reverts just returned their even quicker burst style with barely any counterplay. The fact that "they weren't as bad" feels that way is because today everything snowballs super hard. The reworks gave you more counterplay against their mechanics, that doesn't have much to do with their damage today.
fizz was a bad rework in the sense that it made him feel bad to play in comparison to his old self, which is why they changed him again later on. he was more of a bruiser than an assassin after that initial rework.

ap malphite is pretty much an assassin, you can dodge his ultimate since its a SKILLSHOT and he's fucked from that alone. you either play someone with mobility or just flash his ult. you can even stop watch or spell shield it. also i can confirm that building MR like maw can fuck over his oneshot unless he's fed to shit.
