: Ok, the best way for you to improve is to think about it. Adrian riven was doing a stream where he was asking (and answering) what am I doing? and, why? Ask yourself these questions continually throughout the game. Understanding why you do things will help you understand when to do them. And watch your replays and ask questions like, was this the best choice for me to make? Why did I die here? How could I have prevented it? How did I lose this trade? Why did I win this trade? Slow down things that confuse you in the replay and go over everything that happens so you can understand what is going on during the trade/teamfight. Watch stuff like LS on YouTube. He has a ton of instructional videos about how to think about the game and how to improve.

: Why do you move Ulti Hat to Domination tree while replaing it with Nimbus Cloak???
Personally I'm very okay with this. My main viktor uses domination sorcery and since I takeelectrocute, I can use one of the 3 other runes for something a bit more useful. Then I can take something else in sorcery in place for ultimate hat.

: Basically don't get in trouble early because a jungler is less likely to help you out as soon. At the same time there's less pressure from the enemy jungler so you have more pressure as a laner and so does the opponent.
So, you can basically be more aggressive with less consequence?

I play riven top/mid and jungle. Even so I highly doubt they are gonna restrict rewards to two different roles being gold plus. The rage will be real when someone only plays top or something and has plat MMR and 4 unranked positions and doesn't get it. You aren't the one trick Riot's solving with this though. Riot's solving the "i only play yasuo mid" people - for an example. I think it's definitely possible and very likely that the best rewards are linked to multiple, if not all, roles. It's also possible they scale the rewards based on rank - ex: a gold adc player gets some adc related reward, whereas a gold support player gets a support related reward.

I'm a one trick. I only play darius top and only play viktor mid. Am I screwed? Personally the only thing I dislike is the grind. I think it's a great idea, but I still have questions. Question - I assume these new divisions will be somewhere between bronze and silver and the other play thru diamond (I assume) but what happens to me? How does your mmr affect all of this? Im only silver 4 but I think I can make it to gold, but where would I be placed? I still agree to not doing this, sorry, I dislike it more than like

: Probably to encourage players to stop one tricking or one rolling to success. They want League to be a sport more like tennis, where you all have to be able to serve, to volley, to forehand and backhand. Not like football where you can do good just by being fat and shoving a lot. ---- I never said I *agreed* with this, not really completely sure why people downvote an answer that provides logical explanation for what they're doing.

Not like football where you can do good just by being fat and shoving a lot. That made me chuckle. While I do believe the concept is good, I think making 5 completely different ranks would still make the game a complete grind, and as someone else did say, they said they would rather one trick than grind out positions. Idea is pretty good but I think people are discouraged by the grind, just my feedback

: Just some notes from the stats I see: Kill participation under 45%. This means you aren't working well enough with the team in terms of coordination. Ideally you will want this number to be, on average, between 50-55%. There is a direct correlation between the relationship of this number and the fights your team wins that lead to objectives, which of course, leads to an increased chance to win. Ward score in the bottom 30% of players. This means you aren't doing enough to provide vision to safely split push or contest objectives in game. It likely also means that your teammates die slightly more often due to lack of information to make intelligent choices in game. You can't control them, but you can provide your teammates with a maximum amount of information to make a choice and stay more safe, which will lead to less of an income disadvantage for your teams in game. Champion variance. You have solid performances on Thresh and Darius, play more of those two and less of the other things until you put in more practice on them. This will allow you to play more on reflex and spend more time in game thinking about your gameplan than your build or mechanical playstyle, which can lead to better coordination for your team. Role selection. Your primary roles tend to be ones with less "carry" agency than some others. Which is fine, but it means you need to have a firm grasp of your role on a team and what you need to do in game to accomplish that function in order to unlock the capabilities of your other teammates.

: Idk man, not sure that I agree. Bot lane has an impact, but I haven’t seen this pattern of having the less skilled bot = gg. I’ve seen winning bot lanes get stomped by fed mid laners. Winning bot lanes unable to carry the rest of the team. Losing bot lanes catching up and destroying the enemy team once everyone groups. League is still very much a team game. You’ve just got to know how to shut down a bot lane that’s spiralling out of control - as you would with _any_ lane. Even if you don’t manage this during laning phase, there are opportunities afterwards to catch them out.

It's just felt that way for me, it just seems when a bot lane loses, for what I've seen, it kind of decides the game because that fed add destroys everyone, including me. I wish I knew how to better deal with fed people

Wow man, thanks for all of this info!
: You need to play a hard-snowballing champion, every game. You have to win your lane, HARD, every game. You cannot die to ganks, period, every game. You need to hit at least 80 cs at 10 mins, every game, and stomp on your lane so hard that you get first blood tower, every game. You need to take rift, every game, and use it to kill bot lane tower, every game. You need to track the enemy jungler and make plays on them when they are low, every game, and counterjungle, every game. You need to be doing something proactive whenever you shove your lane out, every game. You need to delay your back til the last possible moment, so you can get as much done while you are on the map, every game. You need to have perfect mechanics, and take maximum advantage of every single mistake that every player on the enemy team makes, every game. Basically, in order to escape Silver in any reasonable amount of time, you need to bump your play up to Diamond 1 / Master level, every game. Don't be fooled though, it doesn't mean you'll reach Diamond 1 / Master, because after being silver for so long, your MMR will be averaged out to Silver level after so many games, and eventually you will hit a wall where you start losing more LP for a loss than you gain for a win.
well. damn. just delete everything gold 5-diamond 2 lol do you have any guides on where i can learn to do this or should I use the magic of google?

: Yeah, I was able to get to Gold last year, somewhat by luck, I'm not that great at the game. But I suppose one tip that I could give you is this: **Use your ability to dodge games and /Mute All Every game. ** If you do this, getting out of silver isn't so bad. Yes, you'll have a few duds but that's to be expected. To dodge, when you're in Champion Select, go ahead and copy the initial names that appear in chat (i.e. username has joined the lobby) You copy that, and then paste it into Op.gg. That way you can see what you're dealing with.

: First off, let me just address your positivity. I don't think you understand how much it is going to help you in the long run. Try to use positive reinforcment with yourself AND OTHERS as much as you can. What you have is rare and should be cherished. Anyways, it sounds like you have a slight mindset problem. What happened is that you entered a game, and one of yuor players was mind-blowingly awful, and ultimately brought down the team. It was an almost impossible win. This is not typical, from waht it sounds like. However, you say it happens constantly. Now THIS.... this is just insanely unlucky. in my opinion, silver players are either playing garen/nasus, or are actually decent at their champions. What you should always think about is if what you are doing will *ON AVERAGE* get you a win. You must find a playstyle that would get you the win with AVERAGE silver players. Now you may not believe me, but AVERAGE silver players are not bad. If you grind enough games, you will get people who dont feed more than 5 deaths about 60 percent of the time. At that point, there is no excuse to not win over 50 percent of your games. if you are having a problem meeting the 50% threshold, consider coaching or watching pro vods. It took me 16 months to get out of bronze myself, and I told myself what i just said the whole time.{{champion:142}}

There were a LOT of comments on this post, holy hell! Thank you for all this advice, if any of you see this post, usually I just blindly do the same things repetitively, without thinking, "sure I'll just build black cleaver first item every single time" "Sure I'll do this exact thing every time" and other things. But thank you for the advice everyone, I appreciate it, and I think I have an idea of what to do.

: Level 8 champion mastery
If there's a mastery "picture" or theme (Mastery 5 is red, Mastery 6 is purple, Mastery 7 is blue) I hope, if Mastery 8 ever happens, it is Orange or Green
: Is having great CS an excuse to not get kills?
I appreciate the (surprising amount) of feedback you all have given me, and I think I have an idea of how this should work. CS is your main gold income. Getting kills is getting kills, it's an extra 300 or so gold. But the focus shouldn't be killing your opponent over and over (unless somehow you can immediately kill someone the second they get to lane) The main focus should be getting ahead of your opponent and making them less useful than you late game. For example, I had an Illaoi the last game I played. She was able to be killed like. Alot. Seriously not one minute she was in lane she was dead most of the time. I wound up with 20 kills. But I did have less than 10 cs per minute (It was a ~35 minute game. I had maybe 280 CS, maybe 70 or so off my 10 per minute goal). But I usually only get 3-6 kills. I surpassed that and got over 10 more kills being aggressive, but keeping a relatively good CS score. Now while I don't really know how to take "good trades." I'll have to try, and die. I'll probably mess up or take a bad trade, but I'll learn and note what happened, and learn how to take decent trades. After that, I can try using my CS knowledge and trading knowledge to pressure them out of lane. I think I got this relatively correct, right? If any of this doesn't look "correct" then feel free to let me know, I would appreciate it, as this is probably the mindset I'll be going into games with, to practice and all that. Wow being decent and having a plan is really exciting! Thank you for the knowledge everyone! You all helped a ton!
: If a kill is free, take it. If a kill / forcing a back gives you map pressure / lets you take an objective, go for it. (Remember too that a kill with your jungler can net 450 gold for the two of you- that's a lot of CS for an instant powerspike) Other than that, KDA doesn't mean diddly. Damage to champions is kind of important too- if you're fed off CS but won't teamfight you can lose your games that way. Btw best name.
Thank you. First person to give my name credit lol
