: Yes, this is the Blade of the Ruined King. He also has Zhonya's Hourglass on the shelf. Stuff like this is why people thought that the Legends of Runeterra cards are not canon, since there is alot of stuff going on in the art that seems weird. However, we got told that the art of the card game is basically the same like the champion interactions in the game. The pictures are more a "what if" situation. Not everything that is going on there actually happened, but it _could_ possibly happen at some point, if the opportunity ever arises. Just like, for example, Swain has never actually met Jinx in the lore. But he has an interaction for her in the game reading her secrets, this is what would happen _if_ Swain would some day encounter Jinx. So you can see this picture just as "this would be how it looks like if Ezreal might ever find the Blade of the Ruined King and Zhonya's Hourglass on his adventures". It does not necessarily mean that these items are actually in his possession.

Sure that is the Riot answer... but... it doesnt explain the Comics. What is the deal with that? Its a "What if someone in runeterra decided to make Marvel Comics, and other person in Runeterra decided to make Riot Games... and what if those 2 decided to make a bunch of comics based on the events of Demacia, featuring this one Demacian in particular who has a deep secret than no one in demacia should know, and then they decided to publish said comic in Piltover, just to be bought by Ezreal"? That sounds oddly specific.

Just because im from the same race as you, it doesnt mean that i will let you live in my home. The same could be said about the race of Jax... or maybe they all are scattered across Runeterra. There are tons of reasons of why Jax would travel across the world instead of staying with others. Heck, even if all the members of his race died, he could make a new home with creatures from other races... so, having no home, does not necesarily means that his wole race disapeared. Maybe he is simply so ashamed of what happened to icathia, that he doesnt want to stay in a new place for long time in fear of repeating the same story or something.
Jacksin (OCE)

He has also outlived his "long lived" people. Old lore doesn't matter, it's old and gone for a reason lol. Just because you are an old vagabond, it doesnt mean that the rest of the world will stop having babies. Thinking that every single member of Jax Race lived in the same exact place, and they all were in that place when the whole place exploded, and they all died thanks to that (and none of them were in the time thing tower of Zilean), is just dumb.
Jacksin (OCE)
: Jax has just as much common with a Minotaur as he does with a Troll
Not really... his new lore says that "Jax is the only survivor of the Kohari—champions sworn to the defense of Icathia." that doesnt mean that he is the last member of his whole race. Lets change that phrase with a hypotetical human example: "Garen is the only survivor of the Demacian Vanguard—champions sworn to the defense of Demacia." that phrase does not mean that Garen is the only human on the world, it means that he is the last member of his "battalion". Sure, that does not confirm that Jax is a troll, but neither denies or confirms that he is the last member of his race. And lets not forget that his previous lore (that still visible in some Riot pages https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/champions/jax/ including the client and does not contradict the new version) says "Jax and his kind", meaning that there are more of his kind.

Riot said that the story of the pale man is a metaphor, not to be taken literally.
: A common misconception is the vastaya are furries. Actually they are shapeshifters. And notably most of the creatures which inspired the early champions in this group are shape-shifters too. (A kumiho, the monkey king, a werecat etc..) The vastaya are often in a shape that they have chosen both consciously and unconsciously based on tribe, environment, and personality. They can change shape depending upon the availability of magic, amount of time required for the change, and in the depth of their connection to their ancestry (vastayashairei). So a radical change that might take Rakan three days, totally exhaust him, and be hard for him to hold for more than a few minutes... well Neeko could do that in 2 seconds and hold it for several days. (Thus shapeshifting is a part of her gameplay kit and not a part of his, but in lore they both have some level of this ability.) The vastaya generally avoid looking purely human or animalistic because it's uncomfortable and not ideal for fighting. (Xayah would find having a human foot about the same comfort and ease as you would wearing 8 inch platform heels, two sizes two small. You could do it, but you wouldn't want to fight those shoes and you wouldn't want to wear them for long either.) But yes this does mean they excell at spying and intrigue. I didn't work on Sett but, one imagines Sett has some of this shapeshifting ability but it's pretty weak and probably not something he can control very well compared to his mother. (But also that looking more human is easier and more comfortable for him than it is for his mom). Personally, I would love to see a more human looking Rengar canon skin and a less human looking Rakan and Xayah canon skins... cause it'd be cool to choose a canon skin before the fight.
So... in theory... a Vastaya could look like a yeti, a dragon, a troll or a yordle (or a mix between all of those) if he/she wanted to?
: More reasons why Garen have a magic sword
I think that, just because Sylas does something using the magic from someone or something else, it doesnt mean that the "original owner" of that magic has ever done the same even if that person can.
: He can most certainly absorb annie's fire magic. If he can take up magic to survive touching true ice, then annie's fire is no issue. Veigar's (or any yordle for that matter) magic I doubt there is any way to confirm/disprove it. Yordle magic is different to human magic and so it may act differently. My question is what happens with people like ryze or brand, who essentially ARE magic. I would also be interested in void magic or ascended magic from darkins or maybe targonians.
If Sylas becomes Iceborn when he touches an iceborn, the only logical conclusion is that... If Sylas touches a yordle HE BECOMES A YORDLE. 100% Canon. But in all seriousness, i guess he would have problems with yordle magic since Poppy doesnt seem to be bothered by the petricite of Demacia.

: As an Ionia fan, please stop for a while when you hit 20 Ionian champions.
I think that Ionia has a problem that i will call "The Continental Problem" Sure, Ionia has tons of champions... But people has to consider that Ionia is a continent. The rest of the continents from Runeterra have tons of different factions, but Ionia is just Ionia. When people think about the champions from Shurima, they usually think about: {{champion:268}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:101}} {{champion:163}} {{champion:33}} {{champion:15}} {{champion:32}} and maybe {{champion:69}} But Shurima is a whole continent, aside from all the champions from "Shurima" you have Targon, Icathia, Ixtal, Zaun, Darkins and Piltover. People doesnt say that this is the list of Shuriman Champions: {{champion:266}} {{champion:32}} {{champion:523}} {{champion:136}} {{champion:268}} {{champion:69}} {{champion:131}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:38}} {{champion:10}} {{champion:89}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:54}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:76}} {{champion:145}} {{champion:90}} {{champion:246}} {{champion:33}} {{champion:421}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:15}} {{champion:72}} {{champion:163}} {{champion:44}} {{champion:101}} {{champion:26}} {{champion:142}} (and im not even mentioning the Zaun/Piltover champs) Even if they all are from the same continent. Considering that the video mentions a "lore champion" before that, it makes me think that the "demon" champ wont be a character mentioned in the lore, since the quote does not reffer to the "lore champion" But since the quote mentions a demon from the past, the character must be someone that we know, and Omen is a "demon" without lore, from the past.

So, about the lost general thing... technically its just a theory, but when you look at the URL of some artworks of cards in the page of Sixmorevodka (the people who drew the cards), the name of the cards appears in the URL. https://cdn1.sixmorevodka.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/08000521/THE-LOST-GENERAL.jpg?webp=0 This card in particular says "THE-LOST-GENERAL", but in game its not called like that... so most of people asume that the card was originally called "The Lost General" but it was changed for some reason.

: Okay, cool. So I gather that Demacia is the Grassland type of place. Big lush Forests, I'd imagine Leona would be from there. Freljord seems to be that classic Ice Land. You would maybe hesitate to connect their World of Vikings to the World of Pirates and Water; but it was long thought that Water and Ice were both embodied by Blue. See here :P: https://oi61.photobucket.com/albums/h78/Eggs_05/Icy%20Peaks_zpsdvzoq6yg.png Shurima appears to be the Desert Land. Much of the Description of Noxus points to it being the land of the Rock People. Dark Travelers dwell there; training in Solitude. They seek the calm of the Mountain and the harshness it grants. I would say that based on Icathia; it sounds like the land of Psychics! Matched to the Colour Purple; it's a Terrain I have been hunting for a LONG TIME...still cannot find it. I think Ionia, based on "Marsh Lands" if could EVEN be mixed in there; is not that Meadowey land you'd see a big Hunky Garen waiting. It's more of a Water based Land! There seems to be some Fire Land that some come from; thought to be a really dry & black desolate type of place. And there is some type of Sky World with Cloud Spires and such.

Big lush Forests, I'd imagine Leona would be from there. Leona is from Targon, the place of "the champs related to the cosmos", she is specifically the Aspect of the Sun. However, its important to mention that the Aspects of Targon and Demacia do have a connection, Kayle, Morgana (Targonian Aspects) are legends of Demacia and Taric is an exiled Demacian who went to Targon and became Ascended. > Freljord seems to be that classic Ice Land. You would maybe hesitate to connect their World of Vikings to the World of Pirates and Water; but it was long thought that Water and Ice were both embodied by Blue. There are places of Freljord that are not frozen, but there is show almost all the time. The ARAM map is in Freljord and the Fight Between Garen, Lux, Sylas and Galio in the new cinematic happens there (even if all those champs are from Demacia... its a long story) > Shurima appears to be the Desert Land. Pretty much, its a giant desert with an oasis created by Azir thanks to magic. > Much of the Description of Noxus points to it being the land of the Rock People. Dark Travelers dwell there; training in Solitude. They seek the calm of the Mountain and the harshness it grants. Uhhh... this one is kinda wrong. Noxus is a massive empire ruled by Swain, Darius and Leblanc. They are a militaristic nation that always want to keep expanding their borders. https://abload.de/img/noxusjakw4.png https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/8/82/Noxus_LoR_Background.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20191022172320 > I would say that based on Icathia; it sounds like the land of Psychics! Matched to the Colour Purple; it's a Terrain I have been hunting for a LONG TIME...still cannot find it. Icathia and the Void are 2 different things. Icathia was a place... but a massive portal to the Void was oppened there and most of the Icathians died. Jax and Zilean and from Icathia. Malzahar was a Shuriman "psychic" that became obsesed with the Void, Kassadin was a Shuriman merchant who lost his family thanks to the Void and now wants to destroy the Void using powers from the Void, Kaisa is the daughter of Kassadin who survived the void attack and uses the power of the Void to fight the Void. Chogath, Khazix, Kogmaw, Baron Nashor and Reksai are all creatures from the Void (Reksai lives in Shurima and Khazix in Ixtal)) You could think that Syndra is from the Void or Icathia, but she is from Ionia. > I think Ionia, based on "Marsh Lands" if could EVEN be mixed in there; is not that Meadowey land you'd see a big Hunky Garen waiting. It's more of a Water based Land! Ionia has a "magical touch" that forgot to mention, most of the people that live there live in balance with the nature. Their buildings are basically trees that grow in the shape of homes thanks to magic. > There seems to be some Fire Land that some come from; thought to be a really dry & black desolate type of place. And there is some type of Sky World with Cloud Spires and such. Those lands do not exist in Runeterra as far as i know, but if i remember correctly, Ornn from Freljord lives in a Volcano.

Its a spiritual place where all the yordles live... yordles are the small champs from the game, like teemo (Nunu and Annie are not Yordles... Nunu is from Freljord and Annie is from... Noxus technically). Thank you, let me just prepare my Coffee for the Morning :P. I will try to grasp whatever it is I can...I already have a nice big idea from all of the Characters I've been unbelieveably abused by and abused others with, just who is from where. Be back in 10 minuit!
No problem, just keep in mind that not all the champs belong to a specific place of the world, some travel between places (Like Ezreal who is from Piltover, but travels arround the world (his glove is from Shurima)) and some were born in one place, but they are currently fighting for another faction (Like Kayn, who was a Noxian who joined to Ionia and wields a Darkin, darkins are from Shurima) Zaun and Piltover are connected, so, it can confuse some people. Ivern for example used to be a "viking" from Freljord until he went to Ionia and was turned into a tree. And most a lot of yordles live in a faction that is not Bandle City (Poppy is Demacian, Kled Noxian, Gnar from Freljord, Ziggs from Zaun, Heimerdinger from Piltover, Fizz from Bilgewater and Kennen from Ionia)
: Can Someone Explain Me The Lands?
If you are too lazy to check the map https://map.leagueoflegends.com/ I will tell you the name and a really basic description of some Regions: Zaun is the "Crazy Hextech City where Singed and Warwick are from or something"... Actually is more of a Chemtech City underground Piltover. Piltover in other hand is the Crazy Hextech City where Caitlyn and Jayce are. Freljord is the place of all the Ice champs. Brand and Ornn are from there as well. Imagine Vikings and Barbarians with ice powers. Demacia is one that everyone knows thanks to the champs that yell "DEMACIA" all the time. Its a medieval looking place full of anti magic stone, because they hate mages, even if some demacian are mages. Noxus is the dark edgy place were most of the evil looking humans come from. Dont let the appearences fool you, not all of them are evil. But they are in constant war with everyone, specially Ionia. Freljord Demacia and Noxus are in the continent of Valoran (Edit: Zaun and Piltover are bewteen Shurima and Valoran... But its more of a Shuriman place) Ionia is the place of most of the japanese/anime looking champs. They have Ninjas, Samurais, things like that. Its a big island continent. Shurima is a continent, but is also the name of the faction of all the Egyptian god like champs and sand people (except Malphite) Darkins are from there as well. Icathia was a place from shurima invaded by the Void. You must know the Void... all those purple monster champs. The Void is a different Dimension of Aliens. Targon is the place of most of the champs related to the cosmos, sun, moon, stars. Its the tallest mountain of the World. Ixtal is the jungle faction, Qiyana is from there. Its a jungle in the desert of Shurima. It has some latin american inspirations. Targon, Icathia, Ixtal and Shurima are part of the continent of Shurima. The Shadow Isles is the place of most of the undead people, its a spooky place. Bilgewater in the place of the pirate looking guys. Runeterra is the name of the World. Bandle City is not part of the world. Its a spiritual place where most of the yordles live... yordles are the small champs from the game, like teemo (Nunu and Annie are not Yordles... Nunu is from Freljord and Annie is from... Noxus technically).
: Oh olaf is strong yeah, and he legit tries to die because some old teller told him he's gonna die peacefully. I love his lore. But also, he ties in strength with Sejuani and her army. He strikes up an alliance with Sejuani because he can't kill her, and she can't kill him. Thats why I didn't add Olaf to this list; his power can be conquered.

Thats why I didn't add Olaf to this list; his power can be conquered. But you are not talking about strong champs, you are talking about unkillable Champs... and Olaf is the only one like that, regarless if he can be defeated. If we talk about power, there are tons of champs who are more powerfull than Pyke for example. Being powerfull does not mean Unkilleable, and being Unkilleable does not mean powerfull.
: Who Is The New Lore Champ? Wrong Answers Only.
Lewanor (NA)
: Champions in Season 2020
My bet is: Cithria, Du Couteau or the Darkin sister for the lore champ. And the Jungler feels like... an Ionian or a Bandle champ. Considering that Sett is Ionian, i hope that the new champ will be from Bandle City The Masked champ could be... a Mage seeker? But considering that it mentions demons from the past, i doubt that it will be a mage seeker... But who knows?
: So lets talk about "Unkillable" Champions in Lore
All those champions can be killed. **Mordekaiser is already dead**. Just because he could come back, it doesnt mean that he will (Well, he will, but its not something that he can do without help)... and even without couting that, a void monster could kill them forever or they could not return from the death due other reasons. The only champ who cant actually be killed is.... {{champion:2}}, not because he is a immortal god or something like that, his lore already tell us that he wont be killed and that is the strongest armor that a champ can have. He has fought against undeads in the Harrowing and survived, the guy is a beast.
: Nah, the whole dev blog was categorized by subjects which ghostcrawler off-hand mentions the new series during the Comics segment. Or at least I didnt interpreted it as the segway into the Animations segment. And like, Arcane had always striked me as an origin focused story not something that will continuously hop from past to present.

And like, Arcane had always striked me as an origin focused story not something that will continuously hop from past to present. Well, the Arcane trailer show us the Jinx as we know, so, it could hop between past and future. But you are right, it seems more like a hint to a new comic. Anyways, i doubt that the comic would feature Ekko or Zilean. Ekko will recieve a whole videogame just for him... and Zilean... well, he is really outdated.
: This next comic series
I thought that the quote was meant to be the introduction to the next topic of the video: Arcane
: OP is asking for something that is **plot driving**. While yes, all these releases have brought new information, it still is just background information. You won't see Urgot returning to Noxus to take revenge on Swain for the betrayal. Ivern is not going back to Freljord to lead another raid on Ionia. Kayn will not change his mind and begin to fight for Noxus in their invasion again. These champions are not driving the plot of the place they have been born further in any way. Because that all is in the past, but they are actually a force that drives the story of their **new** region further. Like how Urgot has his revolution in Zaun and has been given stories now in Zaun and Piltover, developing these regions. __________________________ So these champions are not what OP is asking for, which are champions relevant for Noxus by **driving the story forward**.
Urgot could become an important part of the Noxian invasion to Piltover, a thing that is currently part of the Noxian plot or he could try to take revenge on Swain, that is not out of the picture. Maybe not Ivern, but another barbarian from the Freljord could try to do it. Similar to how the release of Draven opened the posibility of a new champion that works on the pits, and we got a champ like that this year with Sett. Rhaast could try to take revenge on the Noxians that put them there, or the Noxians could try to trap him once more in order to use him as a Noxian Weapon that drives the plot. Those champs can drive the story of Noxus foward, Just like Riven did with both, the Noxian and the Ionian side even if she is considered Noxian. My point is that a champion does not need to belong to a faction to drive the story of that faction fowards and some champs can "be" from more than one faction. Ezreal is from Piltover, but we see him doing important things for the lore of Shurima and Zaun. Olaf is from Freljord and he was a main character from Shadow and Fortune. One action of a champ, can snowball into a big conflict for a faction different to the original faction of the champion. Cassiopeia for example is a Noxian and she is the one who started the whole Shuriman Plot. The "Noxian plot" is not something that happens in a bubble and does not affect the rest of the factions, the lore of Noxus is directly connected to Ionia. Having tons of new Ionian champs is just a direct consequence of the "Noxian plot"... Just look at the list of Ionian champs posted by the OP, like 90% of them have some conection to Noxus thanks to the war between to those factions.
: I keep reading this argument, but honestly, it really isn't true. _________________ Just because he was born in Noxus does not make this champion a Noxian one. All about him says Ionia. His design is Ionian, his story is centered in Ionia as well as his most important champion relationships. That he is born in Noxus is really just a small note in his biography. If you would change that to him being an Ionian orphan, because his parents got killed during the Noxian invasion, then it wouldn't change anything at all really. He is still taken in by Zed, still a member of the order of shadows and trying to best his master to take over the order some day. Same for Urgot. Yes, he was a headsman in Noxus and spent alot of time there. But that is all in the past. This is nothing more but an explanation where his ideology comes from, but all of him still screams Zaun, hence why Riot moved his nationality from Noxus to Zaun. His chemtech body screams Zaun, all of his business is in Zaun trying to throw the twin cities in chaos and anarchy. That he was a headsman from Noxus basically is just a hommage to his pre-rework origins. Another example: Ivern is classified as an Ionian champion now. If you know his backstory, then you know that Ivern used to be a Freljordian barbarian invading Ionia and killing the god willow. Then the tree overtook his body and changed it to what it is today. Would you in any way consider Ivern to be a Freljordian champion? I wouldn't. His design of being that plant guy is much more Ionian. He wanders the forests of Ionia now, trying to protect the nature. Nothing about this guy says that he is a Freljordian, except a small note in his biography. ___________________ People have to seriously stop using that argument...
Just because the champion does not live in that place anymore, it doesnt mean that his lore doesnt brings, or cant bring new relevant lore to his "old faction" Sure, the "noxian" part of Kayn is not that big of a deal, but it shown us parts of Noxus that were not featured or explained in other pieces of Noxian lore. For example, we know thanks to his lore that Noxians used to have an actual Darkin imprisoned there, that is a HUGE deal for the lore of Noxus considering all the mysteries of the Immortal Bastion. The ideology of Urgot is basically based on the ideology of Noxus before Swain, thanks to that, we can imagine how much the place has changed between the Darkwill Era and the Swain Era. Ivern as well tell us that Ionia has not been invaded only by Noxians, it tells us that some people from Freljord travels across the sea invading other places. All those things are pieces of lore than can be expanded in the future and do affect the lore of the original faction of those champs.
Lewanor (NA)
: When are we going to get a relevant Noxian? Was Kled so lore breakingly important and plot driving?
Well... Sett has Noxian blood in his veins... Same goes for Kayn... and they are relevant. Sure, they are not fighting for Noxus, but its something.
: Unfortunately, Riot really seems to overdevelop Ionia here. The amount of champion releases this region got compared to any other region of the game is actually ridiculous. Which other region can claim to get 3 champion releases **in a row, just a couple of weeks between them**? {{champion:498}} {{champion:497}} {{champion:141}} __________________ I actually feel the same for Piltover. This region is so heavily underdeveloped when it comes to champions that it breaks my heart. I hope that after Sett we are taking a really long break from Ionian releases for a change and other regions can get a chance to get something.

Well... you kinda answered yourself about the first point... It makes perfect sense for Sylas to take the power of an iceborn prior to the battle.

I mean that he is technically speaking, not Noxian, even if he lives and fights for Noxus... He is older than Noxus itself. : Sett' parents
Vladimir is not a Noxian soldier.
: Well, there is also the problem that Bandle City is **supposed** to be a mysterious place. It's whole shtick is that it is hidden, no one knows how to even get there, no one came back to tell stories about it. So if being hidden and mysterious is it's whole shtick, then giving us too much information about that place would kinda go against it's thematical niche, wouldn't it?
> [{quoted}](name=Chembaron Yamada,realm=EUW,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=E3ppzE3M,comment-id=00000000000000000000000000000000,timestamp=2020-01-11T21:59:40.771+0000) > > Well, there is also the problem that Bandle City is **supposed** to be a mysterious place. The whole "Ohhh this is a misterious thing so we will give 0 information about it" is an outdated idea that did not worked well in the past (Old Evelynn for example), and Riot decided to ditch when updating the lore of literally everything except Bandle City and Rammus (because of the memes of Rammus). There are 0 good reasons of why Riot should keep doing that. Like tons of champs were supposed to be mysterious things without explanation... But we GOT explanation about them. Jax whole shtick was supposed to be this mysterious dude and we got lore about him (one of the best lores of that year), Evelynn is the same, EVEN SHACO has lore were it explains that he is a toy. Sayingthat Bandle city is "supposed" to be a mysterious place is simply a bad excuse. Yordles KNOW about that place, its public information for them, Rumble and Tristana speak about it in game all the time and we have a clear, non mysterious lore for Tristana, yet we have 0 info about the place that she is trying to protect. Ixtal is supposed to be a mysterious place. It's whole shtick is that it is hidden... and yet we have a clear canonical picture of how does the place look like. But there is not even a simple canonical sketch of Bandle City. (And i say canon, because the Pentakill video is not canon and Riot said that that is not how Bandle City actually looks like) By that same logic about being hidden, then we sould have no info of Zaun, because the place is literally hidden underground... But we have a clear image of the whole place.
: He directly says >I lead the IP team here at Riot games. When we talk about the IP, what we really mean is the world of Runeterra, the different regions of the world, the characters and then the stories which go on around those characters. By this statement, I would assume that Bandle City and the Void, even if they are located in another dimension, are still considered to be part of everything he talks about here. They _are_ kinda relevant for the world, since there are portals all over Runeterra which connect Bandle City and the Void to them. I get that people are frustrated with how Bandle City is handled. But I don't think he specifically meant to leave it out of discussion here, it was at worst just bad phrasing in my opinion.

But I don't think he specifically meant to leave it out of discussion here, it was at worst just bad phrasing in my opinion. Its bad phrasing, but its true that so far they have been focused on the world of Runeterra and not Bandle or the Void. Just look at the way that they talk... Their main focus is the characters, that is something that it was mentioned years ago. The problem is that Bandle is not a character... they can make tons of stories about the characters of Bandle city without giving us any lore of Bandle City itself, you know, because the champions are more important. Last year people asked for lore of Bandle, and their answer was that yes, they were going to give us more lore about the Yordles. See the problem? It feels like Riot themselves dont have anything about the place... But they feel that, if they give us a random piece of lore about Gnar (for example) they are giving us lore about Bandle... when they dont.
