Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't those *takedowns*, not *kills*? Usually Riot tends to do takedowns for that instead, so that they don't shaft supports.
They do generally set the missions as takedowns now but for awhile it would just say kills. They changed it, same as how the missions usually stipulate now that they have to be completed in PVP games. People were blasting 5 bot games in half an hour to complete all their missions before.

Eehhhh, not everyone likes to experiment with different builds though. Plenty of people one-trick in Summ Rift league games, why wouldn't there be one-tricks in TFT? I could argue that it doesn't seem fair those people should get missions they won't complete like "play 20 different origins" because they don't like to leave their comfort zone.
It's kind of like how the worlds missions had requirements like "Get a bunch of kills/towers ------ Or play 7 games" Some people just play support for instance so they'd have to 'wonk' out to start getting kills in games. The difference is just that the TFT missions don't have alternate completion requirements.
As someone who likes to find his favorite thing and then do that for awhile I appreciate the "Play X games" missions.
In terms of it becoming a grind though I completely agree. It's why I dislike missions in general. They give direction, and probably get people to play the game more overall. But for me they make the game always feel more like an obligatory grind, which saps pretty much all the fun from it. Nobody wants to feel forced to play the game. I've pretty much learned to ignore missions at this point and when i stumble into completing one it's a happy accident, hence the simple "play X games" being a nice one.

I never did the math, but as a support main I definitely agree with this guy, but only to a certain degree. I pretty much always upgrade coin and relic shield in games because it feels like a nice stat increase. The shield especially is amazing for the sole reason of stacking the gold income orbs 2/3/4 and the cd of them 40/30/20. The other 2 don't have the third tier of gold income to compare.
What I do almost every game with the frostfang is keep it at tier 2 until I have a spare bit of cash to spend upgrading it. In lanes I'll usually only upgrade it if the enemy jungler is puttin the hurt on us since it does give one additional ward stack, but usually 3 wards/red ward/ and trinket are plenty for laning phase.
There is an argument I think to be made here in that supports are not quite as reliant on the stat checks of their items as another role might be. Picking up the utility of a few smaller items can be the difference in lane since it's not always your place to dish out max damage. If I play someone mana hungry, or i'm just being particularly aggressive I often pick up 2-3 faerie charms for the mana regen. For how cheap they are and how easy they are to turn into upgraded items they give a huge bonus in lane. Even if I end up selling some and loosing the gold I still count them as worth it.
At the end of the day, 100 gold inefficiency finishing your item on a role that drops a couple hundred just on red wards and pots doesn't always make the biggest difference. Of course that's not to say your should just toss your money away :) Supports tend to get least gold in the game so it is important to grab the right items. But just because it's a bit less efficient than the other support items doesn't mean it's a bad item.
I didn't really get into it but i'm sure there's an argument to be made for mage supports being generally safer than up close tank supps that get shield, and so they have weaker items as a balance mechanic. It's a complicated game.

Whatever I did with the situation it would have been bad, set my laners behind, or else be set behind myself. I don't know which is the best course, and I decided to at least not mess up their lanes.
|
|||||
![]()
I could have done that, but then I would give that laner a distinct xp disadvantage. If they're a 'sour' player then it's likely they would have flamed, and when the enemy jungler inevitably turned up we'd be in a fight where both of them would have more gold and more xp than us. A very difficult fight to win.

I think the BE system is meant to be more of a boost to new players, then an actual meaningful change for those who have already played the game for awhile. Leveling 1-30 is much much quicker than it used to be, and the champion capsules for those levels give unique rewards, including some permanent champions.
You are right, the income rate of BE does seem to have diminished somewhat compared to the old IP system, but the champion shards have one unique thing to counteract that. If you have a shard for a champion, you can unlock them for about 2/3 price of the champion in the shop. This also is designed for new players, giving them a discounted way to unlock new champions they can test out.
Veteran players on the other hand tend to have a more clearly defined class of champions they enjoy playing, and overall I think are less "adventurous" in trying out new champions. Sure, they may get the urge to buy a new champion here or there but in my opinion it tends to be less often, meaning they need less BE.
Personally, I own about 2/3 of the champions, and overall don't really feel the need to unlock the ones I don't have. I recently spent about 60k BE on the summer store, and still have about 20k left that i can pick up the occasional champion with if i get the urge. Overall, I play league because it's fun, rather than because I'm grinding towards my next unlock. Champion Capsules and BE for me are just sort of a background thing that builds up overtime.
All of that aside, league has historically done everything it can to entice people into spending money on RP and that's not about to change. Most champions cost about 5 dollars worth of RP which for most people is about half an to an hours worth of wages at a job. To unlock them with BE on the other hand it can easily take 20-25+ games which amounts to a much larger time commitment

> I think Aqua Prison is fine. It does take practice to do well with, and some champions are much harder to nail with it, but overall the size and speed are not bad. Keep practicing with it and try to anticipate where the enemy wants to go!
lol feelsbadman when the person named Deep Terror Nami doesn't want to see Nami buffs. I do agree, she's not bad and doesn't really need the buff. But I still think it would be a nice quality of life change for her. I think of it sort of like how they increased the W radius for Swain. When he hit someone with his E before the range increase, it was still pretty much guaranteed to land the W unless they flash out. But they increased the range anyway. It doesn't really change much in a lane with only one or two people, but in the late game it opens up the option to more easily hit multiple targets and have a greater impact on the fight.
On a related note, with the incoming AD item changes I can really envision a bunch of bruisers running around in need of a good bubble, which could potentially soften the impact those guys are gonna have. (Because let's be honest, they're gonna run rampant for a week or so before the items get tweaked by the balance team to fit in better.)

Ya, I'd definitely pick money. It would allow me to buy essentially an unlimited supply of whatever I wanted. A million grapes, or pizzas, I'd never need to work so I'd have unlimited free time, etc etc. They say money can't buy happiness, but having enough can certainly reduce stress and you could pay for a therapist or pursue your passions or whatever. Things that lead to happiness.

Riot banning players for coming up with a unique strategy is the problem here. Did the players ruin what ascension used to be? Yes. Did they win? Yes. But changing the game isn't a bannable offense. They tried something new and it worked. If riot wants their game played a certain way then make sure it can ONLY be played that way. When you start punishing players for being unique your game dies.
It doesn't even matter how toxic they might have been, or how boring they made the game, or whether they were "holding the players hostage." They weren't banned for toxicity, there's no rule against holding players hostage because... wut? Just stand up... What these players were punished for is creating a game that Riot had never seen and didn't know how to deal with. The same thing happened with proxy farm singed. People were banned because they started playing differently, even though riot has always said they're "open to new methods."
