Eh, you had me until you mentioned the whole TFT microtransaction thing. It's not really funny if it isn't based in reality. Pretty much everything else was good, though. +1
: Rioters put more than you'd think into making these skins. So cut them a break guys
Can the people in this comment section not be idiots and understand that OP isn’t saying “don’t complain”; they’re saying “don’t be an asshole”. An artist has to take criticism in order to get better. An artist most certainly does *not* have to take the kind of verbal abuse that the internet can supply. Anyone who says they do has clearly never been in Stellari’s position.
: Who are you, Riot Stellari's boyfriend or something? If people make crap skins, they don't need any encouragement to do anything but to not let the door hit them in the hind quarters on the way out, so someone else can design the better skin. Good products are good only if they are good. Do men who design skins need positive feed back and encouragement for their crappy skin creations they design too? Aatrox had the worst skin ever as a ranked reward. Worst! Did any men quit their jobs because of all the negative feedback on the forums? Why aren't you talking about that?
And here we have a prime example of someone bringing up something that no one was talking about. In case you hadn't noticed, you're actually the first person to bring up gender or sex in this entire thread. Go ahead. Try using ctrl+F to find any use of the words "female", "male", "women", "men", "boy", "girl", or any other gender/sex-related term in this thread outside of your own comment or this one. You won't find any. Also, gender/sex argument aside, I can tell that you've never run a business before in your life with that attitude, and I'm sure any potential employees who know you are glad you don't.
: (APHELIOS) Nice Graphics Bru
Well, keep in mind that champion models are meant to be viewed from a distance, like they are in-game. Can't say I'm a big fan of Riot's recent trend of using them in trailers, because it honestly doesn't work that well. For example, in Zoe's trailer, they show a close-up of her face while she's smiling and it literally has the same shape as a turtle's mouth.

That's your opinion. And I respectfully disagree with it. I often have ac ouple friends around and I don't want randoms filling in. That's where 3v3 was really invaluable.
It is not an opinion. It's an objective fact. Regardless of whether TT lives or dies, LoL will remain one of the most popular games in the world. The real opinion is saying that Riot needs to come up with a replacement. You and your friends may need one for your own enjoyment, but most people won't. By that logic, LoL does not *need* TT in order to succeed.
: Okay, fine, Riot. Take your TT away. But we need something in its place.
Well, if we’re being completely honest, Riot doesn’t *need* to fill its place at all. Regardless of whose fault it was, barely anybody played it. The losses suffered by Riot will be minimal at best, and the vast majority of the playerbase will go on like nothing happened. When you have game modes as successful as SR and TFT, modes like TT become dead weight. I’m not saying it’s right to just up and delete it (far from it), but League is not known for TT. Its reputation does not ride on it. What happens normally is that people see it when they first sign up, play a few games, and then go back to SR. It’s sad, but TT just isn’t important in the grand scheme of League. I can’t imagine what you, as a TT fan, must be going through, but it’s the truth. Would it be nice to have something like TT? Yes, absolutely, 100%, I totally agree with you. Does League *need* to have such a mode? Unfortunately, no.

> It sounds like a mashup of all the different elements of hip-hop, slapped together in hopes to make a good track. That's kinda the point. Not that most people have looked, but this is what True Damage Akali's flavor text reads: > After the worldwide success of K/DA, Akali made it her mission to recruit accomplished and up-and-coming artists to form a new supergroup: True Damage. Never before has a crew been comprised of such diverse talent, ranging from natural lyricists to renowned producers to legendary vocalists... all ready to disrupt the music industry. Also, I think you're reading a little too much into this and that your expectations are a little too high. This *is* a hip hop song being produced by a gaming company, after all. I don't think they could've done a better job without just paying off a regular rap producer and slapping their name on the finished product. I also think they were probably aware of that going in and just wanted to make something that was, as you put it, "just some random pop tart song for the masses to enjoy". I really don't think it's _meant_ to be for enthusiasts like you; it's more just for people who might be called "casuals" when it comes to music. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with that, and I think it does well what it's supposed to do. You have many valid points, but I think that the standards you hold Riot to are a bit unfair, all things considered.

I just thought the 1000th skin would be a Riot Skin like Riot Kayle or something similar to that. Before I start, I'd like to clarify that I'm not the guy you're replying to, so I just want to make sure there's no confusion there (it's a mistake I've made far too many times). To start, you really don't make it clear what you mean by "special" in the post. IMO, True Damage is special in its own right; it *is* for a special event (Worlds) and will have a lot of stuff associated with it (a song, merch, the opening ceremony, etc.) and will likely blow up like KDA did, although probably not to the same extent, all things considered. That said, now that you've commented what you *do* mean by "special", I can totally see where you're coming from. You would indeed think that they would make a point of making a skin *for* the 1000 skin mark. However, it is a little confusing when you use such vague terms in the actual post. To prevent this from happening with other people, I would add an edit to your post clarifying what you mean.
: In the end, it is simply a situation of "got a legendary skin I don't want". I got God King Darius for the 10th anniversary and while this skin is high quality, it simply didn't matter to me. I don't play Darius and don't plan to ever do it in my entire life, so this skin was totally wasted on me and I simply disenchanted it into Orange Essences.

I don't play Darius and don't plan to ever do it in my entire life, so this skin was totally wasted on me and I simply disenchanted it into Orange Essences. That’s not at all what I’m saying. RB Corki is literally just a 750 RP skin with a 1850 RP price tag. I get that maybe the term “legendary skin” was a bit more flexible back in the day, but they have a clear-cut definition now: a legendary skin is one with a new VO, particles, and animations. RB Corki is none of those things. There is no deeper meaning or ulterior motive. I just want an ACTUAL legendary skin.

What’s really got me hung up is the reference to “those in the mist”. While you’ve got a point that there’s probably some connection to the Brackern, I still have a few questions. Yoric is comparing the voices of the undead that he hears in the mist, to the voices of the Brakern in the crystal of Jayce.
That's a viable theory, but it still begs the question as to why Maokai would make the comparison. The people lost in the mist are caught in the horrific state of undeath, either eternally suffering or reveling in the unnatural magic. While it could be said that the Brackern are in a limbo of their own, their situations are still vastly different. Maybe I'm thinking too hard about this, but it just doesn't sit well. I'm not saying that Jayce has any connection to the Shadow Isles, but maybe there's more to the Brackern's story than meets the eye.

There is a certain Maokai quote that has always bugged me. When near Jayce he says "A voice follows this one. A song. Like those in the mist." Maybe I'm missing something, but I never understood it. Would more lore enlighten me?
: WORLDS SONG!
For me, this is just as good as the others, but in a different way. The others were more focused on hype, while this one was more focused on motivation. Overall, it’s a very unique break from the standard formula which focuses on a side of esports that doesn’t really get talked about: the internal struggle. While the others were about overcoming those around you, this was about overcoming yourself, which is definitely something these guys have to deal with. Maybe it’s not what a lot of people were expecting, but I think it can be appreciated on its own merits, rather than as just another song in a sequence. I have no idea why its so hard for people on the Boards to understand that **_you are not entitled to free stuff._** This is something that applies to virtually all facets of life. : I have a better idea for celebrating 10 years Why not make a game mode that revisits old league of legends it will be really fun but just old map and old items I think its a great idea to just give us a look of what passed by league
This idea has been visited *many* times in the past, but Riot has said that it’s unfortunately not possible or at least not plausible. Apparently, they don’t keep the code for stuff they remove, so they would have to completely rebuild it from the ground up. Regardless of whether that’s a good idea, legacy League would cost so much than they would sensibly be able to get back, unless they added a bunch of paywalls, which obviously aren’t popular with the fans if Eternals and Little Legends are any evidence. Sorry, but it’s not happening anytime soon.

: the problem here is you ping 10 times. that is ping spamming and your team WILL ignore you if you ping spam cause it is dickish. you only need to ping at most twice or even thrice.
Well, it’s not like I ping 10 times in a row or that I always have to use that many. I usually ping 3-4 times as soon as I see them leave to show one, that they’re gone, and two, where I think they might be. If they refuse to move for a few seconds, I’ll send another 2-3 pings their way since this is probably their best chance at getting away. Finally, if they STILL aren’t moving and I know that the enemy is right about to pounce because there’s no way they wouldn’t, I send another 4-5 as their last warning.

Well, I felt like it fell more into gameplay since it has more to do with actually advising people on how to play. I'll admit that it is quite rant-y, but I _am_ trying to better other players. Besides, it's not like anyone actually goes on Rant. How am I supposed to reach anybody there?

: Riot is becoming EA
> bam https://memecrunch.com/meme/BP4LJ/we-re-all-very-impressed/image.gif?w=400&c=1 Seriously, though, you really can’t compare Riot and EA, considering what got people so riled up at EA in the first place was how they would lock certain gameplay behind paywalls. Riot, on the other hand, has always kept their game free to play. Yes, they might both make stupid decisions or have greedy business practices, but that does not automatically make the two the same. Even if they are equally bad, they’re at least not bad in the same way.
: Respect is something you earn. Not something you have or you own.
Well, here's my question: Was it respect you denied them or was it decency? You really didn't give us a lot of context on the situation, so it may look like one thing to you, but it might look like something else to another person. Was the removed comment rude? Obviously. Was there a more mature route you could have taken? Definitely. Was it removal-worthy? That's questionable, but I can't make any assumptions because, again, there's not enough here for me to make an informed opinion.

I thought we were informed enough to let that meme die, but apparently not. He didn’t balance the game. He said so on several occasions. He only helped along the “philosophy” of balance, whatever that means. Yes, he may have played a part, but he is nowhere near involved enough in the process for us to heap all the blame onto him. Also, you know why people stopped memeing about that quote? Because everyone suddenly realized how out-of-context is was. Even without context, it makes perfect sense you don’t need to know how to do surgery in order to manufacture the tools required for surgery (although it would help). You only need to know what the tools need to be capable of. Likewise, you only need to know what is required of you in order to balance the game. Playing it yourself is unnecessary if you’ve got the statistics both from people inside and outside the company. Besides, he DID play the game often, as he personally confirmed several times on these very boards. He only said it to make a point.
