: What do you do when getting camped in solo ranked
Sometimes, it doesn't work out that way. Generally, it's good advice to learn to be carried. If you're taking all the pressure, your other lanes need to carry for you to win. Obviously, it doesn't work like that sometimes. Just keep playing and learning to improve your own skills, and you'll climb anyway. You don't need to win every game to climb.
: Will Noxus attack Freljord or Shurima?
I think the implication of Swain's "retreat" (I'm sure *he* wouldn't call it that) from Ionia is that Noxus is going to be focused internally for the next period in the lore. What with the Black Rose and all. That doesn't mean they aren't expanding. Recent stories focus on their absorption of "neutral" territories. There's land between Noxus and Demacia, for instance, that currently doesn't belong to either.

A little trash talk is fine, but try to keep it light and friendly. If you're just insulting the other team and trying to sell it as "trash talk," that's likely not gonna fly. Talk about the game, meme about the plays.

They aren't as popular. I think it's that simple. Riot has discussed this before, but the more animalistic the champ, the lower interest there is. Unfortunate for those that love them, for sure, but that's how it be.

Ok, so let's lead with the good. A lot of your points are awesome, and undoubtedly, these changes with Garen are going to be good in the long run. That said... Garen is *very* strong right now. He is definitely in need of nerfs. I have never seen anyone post in defense of a champ that was indisputably OP and get upvoted. Yes, there are *some* people on the Boards that want to see tanks and fighters get some love, but there are *also* people that don't. And furthermore, neither camp wants to see a champ go from borderline unplayable to completely busted. And on top of that, *barely anyone* likes to see low-skill champs being busted *ever.* So you've got some things going against you, there. Again, that's not to say there aren't valid points here. Garen needed some help. He ought to be able to proc conqueror, for sure. But he didn't have to get completely busted because of the change. He's a menance right now. And if you don't believe that, check some stats sites.

I generally agree that character development isn't the strong point of Riot's narrative... but it kind of has to be that way, doesn't it? The game demands that characters aren't getting reworked left and right. It would be too much change. But, at the same time, that means that their appearance, VO, even abilities, are somewhat stagnant. There's a limit to what they can do and stay within the canon of the game itself. Riot is still *amazing* at world-building, imo, even if we don't get to see a lot of it right now. That's what *I* hope the book changes. I want to see the gritty details of Runeterra, and selling a book, for profit, is the kind of thing that allows them to expand on that. Otherwise, again, it doesn't serve the game and pay for itself that way. I'm really glad to see them venturing out, and I won't be surprised at all if the book is *stupendous.*

: The state of Crit in league is a big part of why item diversity sucks ass.
I agree with your stated problem, but not necessarily the solution. I think there are more elegant ways to address the problem; it's the ridiculously exponential scaling *on target agnostic damage* that is the problem. It is burst damage. And that means late game marksmen easily outclass literally everything else in the game, including burst mages. It's fine for burst damage to fall off. Mid-game can be the mage's playground. But I'm not super ok with crit replacing it and still dealing with obscene burst damage in the late game. It's just a bit much.

I am not a Rioter, but I imagine it's too early to say. To me, 30-day application process means that applications were due by today, not that a decision would be made today. Could be as long as a few months before a decision is made. Judging by how these things work, they won't announce until the papers are signed. So I would be prepared to wait awhile.

Precisely. Loosely, yeah, they might consider everything they release to be "well-made." But the context of the comment implies that this was an impressive skin compared to the others that they do. I think it's intentionally vague; she didn't want us to figure it out. The point she's making is that effort/quality does not correlate to sales. Popularity does.

Nonetheless, these are the items mages have to defend against that sort of stuff. They don't *want* to overlap those actives with what AD carries have. So if you don't like Veil and Hourglass, I understand, but the right thing to do, then, is ask for changes to those items. The items with spell shields have never been super great, imo. They just don't feel good to buy and use, overall. That goes for Banshee's and Edge of Night.

I mean.... They can't *stop* focusing on balancing champs around pro and make sure that all champs are balancing for pro play at the same time. I'm not accusing *you* of anything, in particular, but the Boards generally feels like it has multiple personality disorder on this topic. Some champs are less difficult than others, necessarily making them sub-optimal picks for the most skilled players in the world. I don't see a way around this. Obviously, for any given champ, you can fix it temporarily, but as long as there is a difficulty disparity between champs, the less skilled champs will be balanced for less skilled play. I don't see how to solve that wider problem.

Pros play in a very different environment. I recommend checking what high ranked solo Q players do, instead. That will likely give you a better idea of what succeeds playing solo. That doesn't mean that what the pros are doing is bad, though; it might also be very viable. At some point, it will come down to playstyle.

He already has a goofy skin. Yes, it's true, he used to have the He-man skin, but he's not even really the best champion to pull off a He-man skin. Garen is. So while this is a loss for a small minority of players, and I totally get that, it's an understandable decision, imo. I think it's fine to be upset and provide the feedback, but I think it's off-mark to accuse them of phoning it in. To me it looks like a pretty calculated decision, and probably a good one for most players. Sorry you lost a favorite skin, though. That does suck.

Hey SanZero, I reviewed the removal in question, and I think if you want to talk in detail, using the discord would be a better option. ... I mean, this should be impossible. Each raptor can only drop one component, as far as I know. It's possible that they were *storing* components, as people sometimes do, and come roaring out of the gate once they complete a bunch of items. I'd want to see some evidence that completed items were even dropping from raptors before I believed that.

A cursory glance at stats sites can tell you that. But it's not correct to say they even *should* be able to duel assassins. That's too far in the other direction. What they need is the ability to waveclear and poke to maintain safety in lane. And if you *can't* do those things, then you *should* lose the lane to an assassin. That's healthy design. No it isnt it just put all work an risk onto mage player. Assassin should never win lane by weave clear or pushing its not their job and should be their weakness they are suposed to roam from lane and try to catch someone not contest and duel mage for priority yet they are now better in csing and clearing like what more do you want? acording to comunity here assasins job is assasinating, splitpushing, tankbusting, zoning, contesting objectives, snowballing, must have great clear to roam, have best mobility and burst and lowes cd, and be reasonably tanky because why not.
An assassin's job is to do well in lane and snowball. Every assassin has this in common. If you can duel them in lane, they basically cannot do this anymore. They become unplayable. I don't know who you are talking to that thinks assassins should have tankbusting and be tanky. That would be awful design. But to function, they *absolutely have to have* a leg up on mages in lane in the early game. That *must* be true. Later in the game, it can fall off, and if you don't feed them, they do. That's the correct way to have it set up.
: Safe waveclear no longer exists. It used to, but farming safely now must equate to literally sitting under your tower to avoid absurd damage from assassin players, as their early or early-mid power spikes are too strong with the current items and environment. The hourglass was further nerfed by a delayed stopwatch, delayed perfectly enough for players to hit early level 6, which for most assassin picks, spells doom for players tower or no tower. Farming under tower is not good design. Mages should be able to duel assassins if they play smartly, and assassins should have gap closers, however they're damage dealing abilities need longer cooldowns, their early waveclear need not exist at all, and items particularly lethality ones need to be more expensive. No assassin envy, simply not my playstyle. I do enjoy Ahri, she mixes mage and assassin together nicely, and play her and actively only her to platinum levels, as I cannot play control mages to climb as they are too team dependent. If another lane didn't also destroy their lane, your lead won't mean anything as a control mage, you take far too long to come online and your team is likely screaming to ff by 12 minutes and playing like they already have. I will abuse the assassin meta like everyone else to get easy rank, believe me, I still feel bad not being able to play Ziggy though.
>Farming under tower is not good design. Mages should be able to duel assassins if they play smartly This just isn't true at all at equal skill. If mages with equal skill could duel assassins passably, assassins would be unplayable. It sounds to me like you don't want to play the style that is actually required to be successful with these types of mages. Now, granted, I agree that they seem a little weak, generally, at the moment. A cursory glance at stats sites can tell you that. But it's not correct to say they even *should* be able to duel assassins. That's too far in the other direction. What they need is the ability to waveclear and poke to maintain safety in lane. : R.I.P Control Mages
The counterpoint to your entire argument is safe waveclear. Pro play has shown how powerful waveclear is. People at low elo don't tend to use it, but you could. If you're playing a "control mage" (whatever that means, see chipndip1's comment) into an assassin, then you shouldn't be able to duel them early. That would be terrible game design. What you *can* and *should* do is farm safely with your *ranged abilities and autos* that they don't have. >pushing in your mid lane is extremely risky As it should be. If mages had all the tools you wish they had, they wouldn't be mages. If you don't want to farm safely under your tower until you have 2-3 items, then you shouldn't play that style. That's what's required, and the stats show that it's plenty powerful when played properly. If you have assassin envy, there's an easy fix for that; play assassins.

I think I'd feel much better about it, generally, if they weren't so damn expensive. Like, I don't even mind loot boxes that much. But these eggs are going for 750 rp, individually. That's more than $5 an egg. And I have to pay ~$38 for the bundle. It's not the principle of the matter to me, it's the practicality. That's too much for a tiny little avatar that I'll probably have a favorite and use one of most of the time, which I will *probably* have to buy multiple bundles to get the 3 star version. : It being a different genre is the major difference.
And a super popular one. A strong IP like Riot's Runeterra universe is exactly what this genre needed to get some legs. I'm not trying to attack anyone with concerns. Concerns are legitimate and warranted. I just think they happen to be wrong on this one. EDIT: I mean, that's kinda what League is already. It piggybacked on an established genre and just did it better (debatable, ik, but in terms of playerbase, it's "winning"). They're doing the same thing here. This is Riot's calling card. It's nothing to be ashamed of imo.

Ive only been playing for a few years, but having a differnet rotating game every other month or so was super fun in the first year. I dont think ive seen accension or dominion since i first started
I mean... it's getting a ranked queue. This one is here to stay. I don't know if you saw, but TFT eclipsed actual League streaming on Twitch right when it up on PBE. This isn't a temp game mode. This is a new game.
: If you are below honor 3 you can't create a PBE account right? But if you get suspended...
Most popular streamers have plenty of smurfs, from what I can tell. The only player I'm aware of that ever had a ban on *them, personally,* was Tyler1. And that was lifted. One banned account is hardly going to stop streamers from streaming.
