: Or, alternatively, you could quit ranked and just play norms and/or aram. But yes, the more snowbally it gets the more stressed people become and therefore the easier it is to lose. It's so crazy that once it gets going you can see 11-1 before 15 mins. That just discourages everyone, I know it does to me, I just lose motivation when the score gap gets so wide so fast.
I mean, I've played ranked and nonranked, both are just as toxic as the other. Either way, I really don't care about winning too much, I just want to have a good game. I only play ranked so that people are actually trying. Because even though I'm not concerned about winning a whole lot, I still try.
: It does, and that's how it is. But fans have been pretty much conditioned to like it that way. Don't get me wrong, when I've watched the LCK the brilliance and skills with which they fight is amazing, even though the matches aren't action packed.
For me, the biggest issue, is that snowbally games lead to more toxic behavior. Think about it. When they game CONSTANTLY swings back and forth, people understand that even if you lost one teamfight, you still might win the next two. This causes people to not freak out at the smallest errors. BUT, when games are so snowbally, people have now been conditioned to have the mindset that if the other team gets ahead, they will probably win, and so it just sets them off. What they don't realize is that this only adds fuel to the fire, causing their team to lose harder and faster. I'm just tired of peoples attitudes. It seems like the more popular something becomes, and the longer its around, the less and less level-headed people you find. I'm 26. Started playing this game S1 while I was in college. The evolution of the type of player in this game is incredible. Not going to pull a "woah is me" moment, but if this continues I cannot see myself playing this game for much longer.

Thats not my point. They shouldnt allow you to que if they are going to kick people out. They never said "we WILL kick you out at this time"

So you think fiora is too strong because she was good in lane assisted by much more jungle pressure in a match up she already wins?🤔
I actually was hardly referencing that game at all. I think shes strong because I think shes strong. The context in the game I played against her is irrelevant because there were a lot of factors to that game that have nothing to do with how strong she is in lane.
: hey Mr.Positive toxic master69 here to give my opinion. user 1 (me) queues up for a ranked game. within seconds of the game loading , his mid laner has started running down mid saying "kill taiwanese people" game has already been decided as your bot opens mid 5 minutes in. you flame the inter and call him a worthless sack of human dogshit. system says you're toxic and thats what ruins games. you demote and are sent back to the division before losing out on tons of hours of games.
Grats, you are able to provide a barely-relevant example. That hardly ever happens. And either way, do you really think that person even cares what you tell them? Just, think about it for ONE second. All that's happening, is you are raging, and you get punished. You're just hurting yourself because its the internet, nobody cares what you say to them. Again, don't be a hypocrite. If you would just report at the end of the game, they would be punished, and you wouldn't.

: you typed why are pro's so ugly. What you think of ugly seems to be people that are unfit. That's why I asked if you are referring "ugly" as in not looking like models, sports stars, and actors. Yet again to answer your question being attractive is not part of their job. Being fit is not part of their job. Being in front of a computer does not make you a fit person. Sending a good message, yet again, is not part of their job. All I'm stating is the fact that sports athletes naturally, AS PART OF THEIR JOB, become fit. Maintaining a good physique is part of an model or actor/actress's job. I haven't made things up. I asked you a question that more specifies your question in which you got offended all on your own. Addressing your point of being in the public eye, are politicians attractive? Are all public figures attractive? Seems like all your doing is pushing your ideals onto a subject, getting offended by a counter argument, and stuck in your own little bubble of a world thinking you know a lot about the real world.
I never said it was part of their job, there you go putting words in my mouth again, and despite you insulting me I'll respond. Esports is just that, Electronic sports. There was MASSIVE backlash when League first aired on sport center. The backlash was from fans and showhosts alike. Part of the problem is they view "nerds" as fat/out of shape, and the fact that these "gaming athletes" fit the stereotype didn't help sway anyone's opinion about it. First question, are you saying it doesn't change peoples opinions about it either way? If so you are wrong. Most people in the sports world are stupid. I KNOW its not part of their job. But other don't care, it just adds fuel to the fire. So all I'm saying is it would HELP if they took care of themselves. Why are you so anti-healthy? You should be sitting here saying "yes, we WANT them to be healthy, I WANT other people to take it more seriously" but instead you are lashing out at me because you think im just being a dick? It's a FACT that people who are more attractive/healthy are more easily respected than those who are not. Thats just human psychology. Better looking people are on average more successful, have more friends etc. If they took care of themselves more, ALL IM SAYING, is it would HELP Esports, not hurt it. Don't know why thats so difficult to grasp. As a side note: Am I claiming to know a lot about the world? No. I've just been making the same point this whole time. The fact that you have to insult me about my capability to see another point of view just shows you have a lack of an ability to actually form a counter argument.
: at the end of the day most esports players are kids with a lot of money to eat whatever they want, so yeah they probably aren't eating efficiently. what is it that you want from them?
I'm not sure why everyone thinks I'm just a prick who wants people to look good for the sake of looking good because that's what I find important. All I'm saying is, they are in the public eye, gamers don't have the best reputation throughout most circles, so it would benefit the sport if they were HEALTHY. HEALTHY. I'm not saying "man they all need to look like supermodels". People keep pretending that's what I'm saying. No. Just look healthy, that's it. Jesus, people get so offended over me saying people should look healthy?
: Most teams make their players work out for an hour a day so obviously it isn't enough to be looking good
If you work out an hour a day and still look like that, you must be eating like a typical fat American.
: still won't have you looking as healthy as you should
But you wont look gross... thats my point. I don't expect anyone to be in perfect shape. Just not the complete opposite.
Kovah (NA)
: Where did I mention they should look like models, sports stars, or actors? You have completely missed the point as has most of the people who read this. Instead of analyzing it, you immediately get offended and, im not kidding, make something up to get your false point across. Why make things up? Anyway, the point is not that its part of their job to look good, but as a person in the public eye, who for many young people are role models/idols/people to look up to, you should want to take care of yourself. Being out of shape and unhealthy is a bad example for anyone watching. It also just feeds all the ignorant people who think people who play video games are huge nerds (unhealthy, antisocial, recluse, etc.) Gamers wouldn't get such a bad rap if the few people in the spotlight representing the rest of us took care of themselves.
How could anyone deny that being healthier is better? I mean really no wonder everyone is disgusting if they have this mentality.
: When you spend all day playing video games you don't look great
Agreed. But just taking an hour a day to cook some healthy food and get a little exercise in goes a long way.
: That's rather petty topic. What are you expecting? Well fit, overexercised studs who look like proper poster boys for the cover of sports fitness catalog? > but how come almost all of them are in terrible shape. Either look like they are starving and can barely move their own body, or they are overweight and look like they can barely move their own body. Okay since the topic is all on pro gamers, I'm gonna comfortably and (frantically) go across the spectrum. First of all, think to yourself as a gamer. Saying "almost all of them" is such bull and an insult. Where's your point of reference? That's just an amount you're blowing out of proportion. Numerous people across League, DOTA, CSGO, and the FGC actually look suitable on stage camera, regardless of putting hours behind the screen. And there's just a bigger target on all of those groups of gamers outside of League: they're _always_ on the move month after month to get to tournaments and events! So what kind of terrible shape are you _really_ getting at? > If you want people to take esports seriously dont look so disgusting. I'm not trying to just be a dick for no reason, I want to see esports exceed. But its just amazing how none of them think "huh, I look EXACTLY how people think I would look if I told them I play professional video games". Esports is not judged by the way an individual looks. If you put a bit of research into it, major networks and sites look more to the accolades of a player, team, or organization over how he/she/they look in front of a camera. If they didn't, then please tell me what is Faker to the image of League esports? It's fans who decide to eat that up and make such ridiculous posts like this or those periodic "feminist" threads with no substance and just some gutless opinion about what is actually proper to them. That stuff gets looked down upon quite often, especially in League. Frankly you succeeded in coming off the wrong way even if given no reason. You're basically saying a pro player with a lazy eye or just outright acne or a disturbing face would be considered a setback on esports success (Bjergsen for League, Magisk for CSGO, Justin Wong for the FGC; I know there are worse). You're saying age is an issue, which pretty much throws all kinds of shade at the icons of the fighting game scene. That's not the case! I can already bet that you'll find a way to defend even one of those examples. And if you do then you already contradict your point. > It also doesnt send a good message. For who?! You as the fan? Players don't get picked up or sponsored for the way they look. And if that's the case, I'm very surprised that a player like Tusin was picked up for Afreeca Freecs. Or even JWong (and Ricki) staying with EG for so long. His good message was his looks right? If looks were the make or break, they'd all be kicked because it's not representing of a good image right? > If pros took the time to take care of themselves, it would inspire other gamers to do the same. When you are young, and your idol is great at games AND takes care of themselves, it will motivate you to do the same. But when they see their favorite star on and they look like garbage, it just gives them no reason to want to take care of themselves. While that may be true, only using that as the form of hero worship only makes you out as a complete imitator, which gives you personally no identity for yourself. Matt to Madlife. _Player_ to Doublelift, Alex Valle, Universe, Simple, Armada, etc. See something about that? I could watch Krepo or Aphromoo all I want but I'm not really intending to pick up their mannerisms nor solely be inspired by them. **TL:DR** - Pro gamers are doing exactly what they aspired to do for a living, whether short or long or even based off of how they look. Your facts are flawed and even you know it.
100% you are a recluse that never leaves their computer, you are unhealthy, and out of shape. You have missed the point completely and went off on a wayyyy too long rant breaking down each part of what I said. There is one point to make, if you are in the public eye, you should want to be healthy and not disgusting.
Mr OHS (NA)
: Are you asking why they don't look like models, sports stars, and actors? Because it's not part of their job to be fit and look amazing. They are paid to play a game, not working their body or image.

Yup, you're right buddy. There is only one pro whos gross. The rest of them are healthy good looking people.

: Idk when lanes is pushed and u dont gank? Usually lane is pushed when enemy harrasses you so bad and dont gank when laners asked for gank?
If my laner is getting pushed to the halfway point or further, of course it should be ganked asap. I have a problem though with a laner/s who are feeding, then get to lane and THEY are the ones pushing. They leave themselves open to easy ganks over and over again. As a jungler its infuriating to try and help them because most of the time the window of opportunity for a gank is so small its not feasible to gank unless you just sit and wait in a bush near their lane.

Yea but if he gets collapsed on while pushing by himself, do you really think hes going to be able to escape?

I agree with the clear and tower kill potential, but honestly so many champs can 1v1 her, even with her jump. Shes just so squishy.

Having hybrid items available all of the sudden opens up a MASSIVE new playstyle for a TON of champions. We would see some champions being played in VERY interesting ways and all this would do is positive things for the game.

With that being said, I just don't see how telling other players they are acting immature/ignorant and all its doing is hurting their chances to win, is considered toxic by me. The current system setup really punishes people like myself. If there wasn't a toxic player in any of my games, I would NEVER be toxic, period. So why can someone treat me like complete garbage, but I cant tell them to stop acting immature? I can understand if I started cussing at them and flaming, but just telling someone how they are simply being ignorant? IDK, doesn't seem fair to me. I'm so glad that you're a nice person and I support the fact that you stand up for your teammates. However, you need to do it diplomatically, both when defending your teammates' actions and your own. Think about what you're saying; would a report for that be considered legitimate by the system? I honestly don't know how you respond to your angry teammates and I don't want to make any assumptions, so how about we roleplay? If I were to say about your teammate, "ashe so stupid cant group[ to teamfight]" "pushes top instead" "go back to bronze ashe," how would you respond to me? (I said I was a diamond smurf at the beginning of the game, and am doing appropriately well.) Or if I said, "kalista picks trash champion and expects to win gg" and then the Kalista goes 0/3 in lane, "kalista feed twitch and annie lol gg" "kalista trash," how would you respond? (I'm 0/2 in lane.) Or, I spam missing pings on your corpse and say, "f***ing retard" "so bad," what do you say to me? (I'm the jungler and have been farming the whole game.) Or, you're top lane and I, the mid laner, get dived and say, "TP YOU IDIOT WE COULD HAVE TURNED." How do you respond to your grey-screened teammate? (This is my first death.) Or, "I hope you and your family get cancer Ahri. you've ruined this ranked game." "Ahri would score less on the IQ test than a vegetable." "Oh look, Ahri's dead again. Piece of f***ing sh*t." What do you say to me? (I'm the jungler and I haven't died yet. Ahri's only kill is because of me.) (You can be Ahri or your teammate can be Ahri.) I know you're not not under any in-game stress, but I want to hear what your response would **honestly** be to one of those situations (or all of them, if you want). Also, if you're going to do one, respond to the one that would make you the most angry. --- Know that when people act maliciously towards you or your teammates, they're bringing themselves down. If you respond honorably, you keep your dignity. If you act maliciously back, you're bringing yourself down to their level. Maybe you're not quite as mean, but you're still being mean. Don't let these people bring you down to their level. You're the better person than them, but you need to _show_ that by not letting them get to you.
I know those are all different situations for the most part, but honestly I usually just respond the same way each time: > Or, I spam missing pings on your corpse and say, "f*ing retard" "so bad," what do you say to me? (I'm the jungler and have been farming the whole game.) For example for this type of thing I usually say "Yo what is the point of you saying that? Is it going to help you win? You obviously care enough to type so obviously you want to win, why are you handicapping yourself?" After I say that they either stop, or more commonly just continue to be toxic in which case I tell them they are acting immature/ignorant. > Or, you're top lane and I, the mid laner, get dived and say, "TP YOU IDIOT WE COULD HAVE TURNED." How do you respond to your grey-screened teammate? (This is my first death.) I probably wouldnt even say anything for this. For the most part I usually dont say anything unless people are cussing, because in general when they are cussing they are more out of control. > Know that when people act maliciously towards you or your teammates, they're bringing themselves down. If you respond honorably, you keep your dignity. If you act maliciously back, you're bringing yourself down to their level. Maybe you're not quite as mean, but you're still being mean. Don't let these people bring you down to their level. You're the better person than them, but you need to show that by not letting them get to you.
