I understand with funneling taric/yi because they are literally unstoppable when ulting together & abusing exp across the map but Soraka top can be played against. You can win against Soraka top if you get GW early and stop pushing like there's no jungle role in the game. When your wave is pushed, go clear some jungle or roam... get scuttle? Do anything else aside from try to tower dive her? Or idk have some patience and not try to push a wave that is already under her turret? It might not be fun to play against Soraka top but neither is Yasuo in any lane or someone like Leona botlane etc. I've played a lot of games where I hated my laning phase. Some champions like Yasuo make you stand away from minions and can even tower dive you with no consequence. People who can't adapt are a huge reason why we are in this tiny champ pool meta with huge damage on everything.
Then why is she 57% winrate top lane with 8 percent pick rate if she's 'so counterable'? She's useful than any other toplaner in the game right now. She NEEDS nerfed. It's not healthy for the game.

: {{champion:131}} This new rework pisses me off. Old Diana's old design was based around her weakness being mobility, before 6 she had no mobility whatsoever and it was her largest weakness, but Riot decided to just say "Fuck it lets remove that" and now she's fucking broken.
She's 'broken' because she has number issues and conq is still busted. A simple adjustment to her ult damage and maybe some base stats (less AS from her passive) and she'll be just fine. The mobility earlier on and reduction of her base skills (W, E, Passive) puts her on a similar damage paradigm with mages. Which all players should be happy with. All of her real damage is tied up into an ult that can be dodged or pushed away by a good chunk of the roster, or even zhonyas'd.

Junglers have to FARM to stay up in items and levels now because the camps respawn quickly. Last season was a gank fiesta, and quite frankly, the game's in a better spot because junglers can't just perma gank and catch up on xp from rubberbanding. It was incredibly annoying.

: most of those don't work, the damage lands way before some of those animations go through, thats the point. being forced to buy a specific item to counter something is not counterplay, especially since some can't even buy it, who buys mercurial scimitar as a mage, and who buys zhonyas without having ap ratios? you can ask mordekaiser about this, and the other thing is diana gets to reposition the second part of her R. i saw the highlights on youtube, some you listed never had the chance to respond after the first part of her ult. and malphite,neeko amumu and mf are all skillshots or require another ability of theirs to land which is also a skillshot, diana is point and click. malphite got nerfed for it too we don't count flash, same reason we don't count flash for malphite, he wouldn't be nerfed if that was acceptable.
You clearly don't play diana if you think her damage is higher unless she's pulled more than three people. Her damage on the live servers, most of the time, is higher than what it is on the pbe. This shifts her from stat check every 20 seconds to having a paradigm similar to mages, fight with your cooldowns (her ult). Malphite got nerfed because his CC is more effective than dianas. And no, I'm sorry, most of the examples I listed give ample time. I know what I'm talking about. I've been fucked out of one too many E's before from many of those abilities. Highlights from bronze / iron / silver players on the pbe don't mean anything.

For me it's items. I'll use my main as an example. Diana plays either bursty (overkill oneshot) with items like spellbinder deathcap void zhonyas and oblviion orb. She can also play bruiser (sustained damage, still high oneshot later) with items like roa, nashors, deathcap, zhonyas, and void staff. I use the exact same runes, but I can feel the presence of a different champion when I use the bruiser build. It's true runes have created a feeling of being more optimized though, which I think is okay for the most part. Both items and runes impact you and how you approach each game.

So lets break this down. 1. Kayle has better sustained damage. 2. Kayle has a self heal / speedup in her kit / slow to allow for kiting. 3. She has an invlun ult 4. She scales better with fewer items (relies more on levels). Diana in comparison: 1. Can't kite. (her 90 second ult cd slow which can be cleansed does not count). This is not to be confused with sticking. 2. Does not have a heal. She has a shield on a higher cooldown, and will only get better than lives value if she builds HP, reducing her overall effective damage / delays spikes (if roa). 3. Does not get any kind of invulnerability outside of zhonyas and a meager shield. 4. Does not scale better and is very item reliant. Diana is by no means Kayle. She's more contained early game, no longer has a stupid strong mid-game built around stat checking, but now has a late game teamfight potential with some early game agency. You also forget lane Diana is so much easier to punish now because her overall effective waveclear is reduced by lowering passive damage and w uptime. This makes her so much easier to punish than she was early game. Currently, she just shoves waves with W. She is way more balanced than her current iteration, is this something we can agree on? I don't care if her ult is slightly overturned right now. Those numbers can be adjusted, and they will be minor adjustments to base dmg if anything.

Sustained damage. Nerfed - passive damage, cut in half. Uptime on W reduced, therefore reducing her effective sustained damage periods/windows. All for attack speed that feels slightly better to use. R is not a free penta mechanic if you do not clump. Ask yourself this question: Do you clump against: Malphite, Neeko, MF? No. Don't do it against Diana, and you're fine. Even if she gets it off, you have the default counterplay options shown above. I've played her up to Diamond 3 and know for a fact she was nerfed overall in terms of damage. It's only increased if people clump and don't use one of the options listed above. In which case, if she gets a big ult off, she should be rewarded for finding that opening. I don't understand how her new kit is more 'unhealthy' than her old stat check every 20 seconds kit. Where is this magical sustained damge coming from with her passive damage cut in half. Who will let diana sit on top of them without her ult, or can't juke to her left? I'll bite and edit one more time. Sure, maybe ult damage on a 5 man ult is overtuned. Zhonyas hourglass, Dashing, shielding, janna R, poppy r, Tristana R, Xin R, Poppy E, Lee R, QIyana R, Vayne E, Taliyah w, Thresh E, azir R, ziggs w, (theres more but I'm too lazy to list) flash, exhaust or any displacement that pushes diana away or keeps her in place. Those are all counterplay compared to her smashing RWQ passive into her keyboard. You have a full second to react to it, before, you had no time. There is way more counterplay. Diana was AOEing teams with higher damage way before now (unless you somehow pull 3 or more people on the enemy team). Not to mention on a lower effective cooldown. (18 seconds vs 80 seconds) Play like her like you would against malphite, neeko, amumu, mf. Don't clump. If the above examples I've listed are not counterplay, tell me how?

1. Diana has had her single target damage gutted. (passive and E damage halved) 2. It's only higher than her live damage if she pulls 3 or more people. 3. The uptime on this damage is severely lowered compared to live. She fits closer to a mage's paradigm in terms of cooldowns now (based on her being gated by ult for big engages / damage). 4. To compensate for earlier access to mobility, her shield uptime was nerfed, opening more windows early game. If she opts to max w, she has no waveclear through q. This iteration of Diana is miles balanced than her old version of 'stat check any enemy champion from the fog of war every 20 seconds with RWQ passive.

A unique utility to decouple her from technically being replaceable by Akali,Fizz or just any other AP assassin (fighter??) really. maybe like a cool gravity effect that affected people with a debuff that would pull them back if they tried to dash or something? a memorable effect like Bard portal or Windwall.... Either way I am interested in this. Diana was always a lowkey fave champion of mine. very simplistic and cathartic gameplay with a clearcut goals for laning(spampush!) and lategame (splitpush and duel!) which is something I really enjoyed.
They did state they wanted her to keep both playstyles. W is adding an HP ratio.

They already nerfed the damage on most of the stat runes. They could power down some of the individual champs.. but they also reduced drake damage and even gave defenses to some drakes. Like.. i don't understand. Damage is lower than it has been in previous seasons, and that's a fact.

Conqueor getting basically gutted in s9, dragon powers reduced severely until 4 next season, Aftershock scaling better on tanks now.. and yet, a tank sees play mid several times where mages belong. Draintanking damage and not 'dying quickly' I think the boards overblows damage creep by a lot. It's way better than it was season 8. elect nerfs, stat nerfs on all runes, etc. Tanks will rise in season 10 and the boards will just cry about them being nerfed.

These are the BEST metas we've ever had. You can't tell me BC meta and sunfire kata and any othe rmeta where tanks just slowly kill you while you can't touch them was enjoyable.

For example Garen and donger is currently a little overstated and i don't like playing against because of that. Probably a few more i missed to but most of the roster i enjoy playing against.

: The only Champion I genuinely don't like to play against is Leblanc, and that's mainly because she lacks counterplay. The counterplay is "stand back and don't give kills" but that's true of literally EVERYONE; other assassins have other forms of counterplay (in lane) on top of their weak scaling. I don't like being forced to "play from behind" from level 2 onward. I don't generally dislike playing against anyone else. Akali? Guessing where she is in the shroud is fun. Pyke? A squishy melee is a nice change of pace. Evelynn? Honestly, she's probably my FAVORITE to play against because she totally alters the way you think about the game.
I'm the same way with fizz. So annoying to play vs his R with a competent jungler.

Additionally Mage Supports need EXP to be usefull, so they will be alot less impactfull which once again results in LESS DMG due to Tank/Heal supports becaome more viable! ------------ The alcove is beyond my grasp. I don't see what ever interesting gameplay they expect to result from them... Is there supposed to be something usefull? Or just a new path you can hide in? I don't get it, at all.
Not sure why you're downvoted but you're 100% correct. This also puts power into top lane mains and stops them from feeling like they can't do anything since they'll be higher level.
: There is no reason you can justify nerfing exp for bot, it's already the lane thats behind the most with shared exp. All this does is make bot even more gankable and cancer to play.
It's done because top lane needs relevancy. Making it have more XP is the best way to do this.

Sneaky is fine. He's the best low-econ adc. He outputs the highest damage given fewest resources among all adc players. He's consistent.

No, I'm not. They don't have a huge team dedicated to this. Even if they do, it doesn't account for millions of players/playstyles. It's better for a champ to be broken then underperform.

That's what I'm saying.. 700 armor they'd be tickling him. He either had really low base HP to go with it or the enemy team had some kind of magic damage / huge objective like elder. A 700 HP Malphite doesn't die that quick.
