: Being that the only thing being "sold" to you is cosmetics, you're being sold exactly what you're advertised tbh. They don't advertise a decent player base at all once you think about it. And you didn't pay to play the game therefore even if it was refunded, it would be an entire $0.00
Imagine trying this at a coffee shop: "I want a refund on my latte because the other customers are rude."
: Intentionally making someone mad is wrong.
In other words, he was deliberately manipulating him into punishment. It's not against the rules, but it is certainly morally corrupt. Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the behavior or perception of others through indirect, deceptive, or underhanded tactics. By advancing the interests of the manipulator, often at another's expense, such methods could be considered exploitative and devious.
: No, OP types are almost always 4. I think you have a pretty good model for what I was referring to though.
I suppose type 5 is uncommon enough to be left out, and there are other less common sorts that don't fit in those 4 types. Like those just looking for examples of stupid and couldn't care less about people getting punished.

: Again - how many chances do you need? It told you very clearly when you had a 14 day ban that this was the next step. You don’t get infinite chances in life.
More importantly, it is your (Patyy) responsibility to understand the rules. It's the same in any culture- nobody is going to sit you down and teach you the rules, you have to learn them on your own. I agree that it is harsh, but that is irrelevant.
: Behavior Factions
They who want to... 1. see people be punished, to find vindication through the rules. The most common sort here, because they have incentive to keep coming back. 2. champion the rules, to help others understand. Unlike 1, they do not glorify punishments and promote reformation. 3. criticize the system, to highlight it's shortcomings. Some seek vindication from the rules, others to help the system's victims. 4. The "I got punished and I don't like it" crowd, the most common OP writers here. 5. The much less common "I got punished, and I want to understand" folks. Many of the thumbs down come from the dominant 1 crowd. Many of their comments would be against the rules and it behooves them to hold their tongue. Sadly, there are few here interested in actually discussing behavior in an academic manner. I'm a type 3, like you! Edit: Wait, were you talking about OP types?

Basically the champs that player expects to win if they play the champion aggressively with one of the following: **easily** deal lots of AoE *and* single target damage: {{champion:63}} {{champion:45}} {{champion:112}} {{champion:161}} is fast/unstoppable with very high single target consistent damage: {{champion:157}} {{champion:11}} {{champion:23}} {{champion:2}} can 1v3 more easily: {{champion:266}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:8}} {{champion:122}} assassins with great disengage: {{champion:105}} {{champion:141}} {{champion:91}} {{champion:238}} exceptional split pusher: {{champion:27}} {{champion:14}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:24}} And then the oddball that I see as 2nd most toxic (behind Yasuo) {{champion:17}} Some fit into the above but just aren't typically toxic, like Illaoi.

And why would he try to look innocent to us? To get a reaction? To demerit the bots? If they have the ability to edit like that, then they should know that such efforts would be completely futile in restoring the account. By virtue of knowing how to handle files. What makes you think "there is no history of the current punishment system issuing bans unwarranted"? That sounds like Riot propaganda backing up the bot's zero contextual comprehension judgement. The only way the above statement is true is if someone decided to make every ban by the bot be warranted. Reality is that Riot HAS lifted bans, and recently, in a few cases. This wouldn't be the first if they did. There's no denying that it is *possible* to edit a chat log like that, but it's inane to do so.

: First, let me make a disclaimer. I DO NOT WORK FOR RIOT. I say this because you seem to think I do, even though I don't bare the insignia, nor is my name marked in red. The last thing I want is Riot getting the impression that I am impersonating a Riot employee. That said, let's talk about some of these examples. The guy saying "GG" and getting banned. That's usually the result of a defect in the reform card, that causes the reform card to not show all text. 1 rioter commented on this issue, saying that special characters were the cause of the incident, and later revealed the actual chat logs. Another thing, and this has been covered numerous times on this particular board, being banned is not mutually exclusive to the last game you played. As reports build up, it will eventually trigger the ban. So the guy getting banned for saying "GG" may in fact be very toxic, and the reform card chose a chat log that did not reflect his behavior properly. Next, let's talk about your account. 4,000 games is, well, a lot of games for 1 season. While I'm not saying it's a bad thing, as I tend to grind out games every now and then, it would seem you may be destroying your own MMR. You said you dropped 2 divisions after losing promos. This is a big no no, and is a sure fire way to ruin your accounts mmr. The larger the losing streak, further your mmr plummets. If your MMR gets to low, you will notice you are playing with players far below your accounts ranking. For example, me! I'm not having the best time this preseason, and since decay is still active, I'm pressured to play in a whole new meta I haven't fleshed out yet. It's very whacky, preseason is. So because of this, I have been doing atrocious. My account has suffered from loss after loss and resulting in a negative win ratio (48%). I did eventually get demoted, but while I was still in diamond, I was consistently getting gold players on my team, while the enemy team was getting plats and diamonds. Weird, huh? It's because I tanked my mmr. When this happens, it's best to take a break, a week off seems to be the sweet spot for me. However, if you keep playing on and on, you're going to most certainly put your account in an extremely difficult situation to get out of. So when you're getting those really rough players, it's best to just take a small break. KingTyrant mentions that age affects your ban chance. This is simply not the case. You get 4 chances and that's it. If you want an example, I was chat restricted on my main. I was in good standing for 2 years after the fact! Never spoke in all chat. But one day I was having a rough one, and called someone trash. Doesn't sound to bad does it? No slurs or anything, just an argument with the worse of it being "trash". My account was permabanned a few minutes after the game. Even though I had a good track record for 2 years running. So I don't believe age actually affects your accounts standing. Your account holds no monetary value. Riot owns your account, and it is solely a privilege to play on that account. Because of this, you can't stake claim to the amount of money spent in the game. Especially since the game is entirely free to play outside of aesthetics, cosmetic purposes. So bringing up how much you spent or how old your account is will not rest well with your case. Chat logs are only provided to benefit you as a player. Therefore, you will only see your own chat to reflect on your actions. This is because you are completely in control of what you say in chat. That is why you will never receive a chat log about your teammates. Two wrongs do not make a right. It is written in the summoners code, advising against engaging in any arguement or harrassment, regardless if it's being done to you or another player. The best course of action is to simply mute the player without saying a word to them, and report them after the game. You'd be surprised at how effective this method is. Not only does it immediately put a stop to bickering and time spent typing. It can even lead to a victory. I've seen it many of times. I hope you learned a lot from this thread, and the consequences of your actions. It truly is a shame to see an account like that dismissed to the void. But the bright side is, you get to have a fresh start, which means your mmr on your account will start at gold when you get to ranked, giving you the opportunity to truly display your magnificent Jhin skills. Good luck, Summoner!{{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}

You don't have to be ranked to know the difference between griefing and not griefing. **Focus on the information at hand, not who it's coming from.** Last time I'm responding on this thread since people are choosing to focus on my rank (or lack thereof) rather than the objective information. It's just sad. Wasn't "calling out" OP's rank with malicious intent, the reason I brought it up was relevant to the discussion because this is a **skilled player** on _their main_ who is underperforming, almost intentionally so. It would have been incredibly different if I had said something along the lines of "You're plat and you played this badly? God dude, how much did you buy that account for?" They're more than likely objectively better than me in every conceivable way. Also, just as an aside, my "43% winrate Shen" is from a grand total of 7 games, 5 of which were me screwing around with Hail of Blades, 1 was from me trying out the new Conqueror, the other was a regular game (where I performed incredibly well because I wasn't trying out some stupid gimmick.)

Watched these multiple times. I'm only gold, and it may look different to my filthy casual eyes, but... Q'ed into entire enemy team: If ANYTHING is suspicious, it's this. BUT, it's at the end of the game (seconds before), where it's super obvious what the outcome will be. No-one can blame him for not trying anymore, and the enemy doesn't get to use that gold at all and its obvious that's going to be the case. Do players who are winning get counted as inting when they dive the spawn area at the end of the match? Same deal. Walked instance 1: I don't see anything remotely resembling intentionally feeding here. Walked instance 2: Looks like he was looking away or perhaps chatting. He made a move order and didn't make any other change in movement until he started auto-attacking Naut practically in his face. Of great significance is that he started attacking first. Instance 3: Looks like taunting gone sour and he was totally participating in the fight after. Definitely not inting. About mobi boots: I could think of reasons to buy them. Swiftness boots would be troll. Edit-add: I notice he's warding, he is showing up to the teamfights, and has some jungle steal. IMO, this is a far cry from certain inting, and IF his team was actually doing well, his play wouldn't have cost the game because he was contributing across the board. I'm pretty sure of that.

: Topic: Current State of League's Toxicity?
Aww, I don't fall under either of your categories... Is this even open for discussion? Are you even looking for an actual response? Best as I can tell, you just want to be heard that you don't like the punishment system and are really dissatisfied with the people responsible for it. Incidentally, I feel that way too, because people are resorting to /mute all. This isn't good and I was happier with the mutable flames. Its a shame they're letting people be sacrificed as a show to try to reduce toxicity. Now to everyone else reading, here's a prime example of someone who has a bad mouth that could be a good player. For all your collective brainpower and effort you're putting into these forums, can't you think of a way to coexist in the game with him instead of glorifying his punishment? He's obviously not in need of being told his mouth is dirty and the current rules... blah blah blah, you know. Here's an idea; Let banned players play with other players with bad behavior. You know, like AFKers and leavers. Then they have no right to complain about bad behavior until they prove otherwise and EVERYBODY WINS.
: What should I do with this?
It sounds like you didn't have a normal JG, and you just expected him to JG normally ... in normals. Perhaps reasonably so, but that doesn't matter. Also, bots have no care for context, and the white knights here will tell you if you said something bad in chat then you deserve whatever punishment the bot deems appropriate. My opinion otherwise doesn't matter also.
: Huh. That’s weird. Have them write a support ticket and ask them to clarify why the suspension looks that way. It’s happened before, and some glitch made displaying the logs only say “Draven.”
"Bots, man." I'm glad I got to see this (I mean it sucks but it's funny) GG
: Wait am I a genius?
I think you're avoiding a responsibility to the community to fill the damn role and if everyone starts doing this they're going to have to make it more severely punished, which will make the more legitimate cases of que dodging more painful. So please don't do that. Also you're pretty daft for sharing a crack in the system that you intend to abuse.
: Theres a difference between basic understanding of league of legends and the space program which for the majority of its lifespan, knew nothing about what it was dealing with. The information about properly playing league of legends is widely available and not hard to understand. You really don't even need to go to outside sources you could just learn from using logical thinking.
Most of the mistakes in the space program were avoidable. Completely. They were in a rush and couldn't QA *everything* as much as they should. The last mistake I heard of was using a British measure of a unit that had the same name as the American measure. Completely avoidable mistake, basic understanding of rocket science. For quite some time, players didn't really understand League either. Did you know we used to have supports in top and bot lane as the norm? Just logical thinking, you say. And then you go further to insist that, even for ranked games, players go and STUDY HOW TO PLAY, regularly and thoroughly. No. That's an unreasonable expectation for a game. There is no fallacy comparing understanding of League and understanding of rocketry.
TrulyBland (EUNE)
: The exact post I quoted specifically says inters have the end goal of ruining the game. And now you say bad players [which implies they do not have the end goal of ruining the game] are inters. Either inter includes both, or it specifically refers to one of them. But you have managed to use the word to **explicitly** refer to **each** of them **individually**, as if the other was not included. And that's literally impossible from a standpoint of elementary logic, and it's completely nonsensical from a standpoint of pragmatic communication. There's nothing wrong with using a word differently from other people, as long as you can make yourself understood and as long as you put an effort into trying to understand others. So, would you be so kind as to make your position clear, and answer whether your definition of inter: A) Refers to bad players, yes or no? B) Refers to players that actively try to lose the game, yes or no?
Reply to Lance. **You are actively ignoring the difference between** (the intent to win and doing badly) = feeding **and** (the intent to make it harder to win by doing badly) = intentional feeding Notice, they are both feeding, but one is intentional, one is not.
: Yes, if you ruin games you should be punished.
They are. By losing.
: Most deaths are completely avoidable. If I am a top laner and I overextend without a ward and get killed by a gank, that would be inting. I may not have ran it straight down but it is still an int. If my lane gets frozen and I overextend trying to get CS and get killed by the enemy laner that is inting. You chose to put yourself in a position where you die. 1 or 2 times is whatever but when you go full hashinshin going 0/10/0 you should be punished. After it happens to you once you should be a good enough player to not let it happen again especially not in the same game.
Same could be said of all the mistakes of the space program (pretty much), but at the end of the day they still won. Feeders can still be in it to win it even though they're doing bad. Of course it's not as likely, but who knows when the enemy will suddenly fall short on funding.

That's a lot to read (and I will be), yet its apparent that even at a mere glance through it's resources talking about toxicity and behavior, that something along the lines of "you're garbage" isn't the sort of thing they're hoping to quash. They're about building *healthy* games, not oppressive games. This here, this autoban crap without any compassion for players or understanding of context, is NOT what Fair Play Alliance is advocating. There is a massive difference between "Way to go dummy" and "### #### ###### ########### ############" Now kindly get out from under your fantasy rock.

I feel like Luke Skywalker when he just found out who his daddy was. I want to disbelieve, but I see that I don't know the power of the dark side.

That is not an offense, it's negativity and being negative is not against the rules. Sadly, negativity is a selectable option in the report menu. Riot is just a snowflake business.
It's a dumpster option though, for the snowflakes. Riot's not all on the side of the snowflakes.

: This isn’t really minor toxicity though. This is you thinking it’s acceptable to spend over half a game demeaning your **TEAM**mates. Yes, of course something like this is worthy of punishment. My problem is that it took quite a number of games until you were finally punished and leave the game. *edit to clarify*: And this is where your statement falls apart: >If I am right, being extremely racist is considered the same as saying "ok u are dumb" in Riots eyes. No. Being extremely racist *in one instance* is considered *just as toxic* as being "standard toxic" *over dozens of games*. Just like how you speeding once is going to get you a ticket - but speed 10 times and your license is getting revoked and/or jail time - just like DUI once. No, they aren't the same if done once each. They are the same if you repeat the "small" offense a lot.

: Do you think this should warrant a permanent ban?
what aren't you showing...surely saying someone is dumb isn't the trigger.
: fuq my god damn life and this company, imagine geting banned for this
You're actually feeding them as a clear example of negligence toward your choice of words. Welcome to the pool of sacrifices.
: Good job screwing over your friend's PBE account.
"Good job screwing over your friend's PBE account." This is proof you're here to shame on people for rule breaking. I'm here to shame on your behavior.
: "help me or i am afk"
It's not offensive chat so let it go. People are allowed to ruin the match by being bad. Riot doesn't actually want to ban players, but they have to make some sacrificial offerings to appease the white knight witch hunters. By making it automated, they can stand behind an opaque wall of "no feelings from us, it's just the rules".
: living in the past, grow up
Are you under a rock? More often than not, I see this bannable chat in games, and more often people who won't say anything no matter what. You're living a deluded fantasy.
: I mean "isn't inherently offensive".
Offended bubbles. Ya'll won't even tolerate relatively innocent names. Against the rules- but the rules are bad.
: If your dialogue isn't constructive or otherwise innocent, it's free for punishment tbh, and "ok boomer" and "snowflake" aren't typically constructive phrases.
If by innocent you mean not breaking rules, duh. If you mean that it isn't a nice thing to say, you're blowing offense bubbles.
: And if you were to call someone that, a business is also allowed to kick you off their premise.
A business doesn't need a reason to kick you out.
: Automated players ... botting
You know what's amusing about this? It's probably for players who have been banned and need to be leveled, and don't really care about the rules.

: >So if it hurts the team? oh well. thats not MY problem. Theeere you go. I'm not even going to reply to all the rest of your flawed arguments. You wanted to know which rule you are breaking? Summoner's code, first headline: Support your team. Rant all you want, keep trying to convince yourself with all that "there's no rule against taking cs" and "everybody else refuse to play this as a teamgame" bullshit arguments. You've admitted right there to break the rules. You are not supporting your team, you are willingly hurting it. A different way of putting it would be: You are sabotaging your team. Yet another way of putting it: **You are griefing.** And no bullshit semantic arguments (which I know you will try to pull) will make what you said disappear. You. Admitted. To. Griefing.
How much CS are you talking about taking? Because if it's just a bit, all this was really blown out of proportion. And if you're talking about half-ish or more of the CS, then it is an issue, because yes, the ADC does need that big-e-peen sword ASAP. Especially early spiking ones like Ezreal or MF.

: I use chat mainly for coordination and prevent tilt. If I see someone struggling with a match up that I know how to play, I'll give them some tips on how to play it, and sometimes that's enough to untilt them. Or at my rank, teach my bot lane partner how to CS under tower.
Preventing tilt is pretty hard, isn't it? I don't often see people appreciate tips and unsolicited advice. That's not a hint. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}} I see you play support a lot. What sorts of things said in chat have prevented you from tilting?
