Trick2G was literally playing ardent Udyr for months too lmao
: A friend of mine is starting league for the first time
Unpopular opinion, start off in aram. Me and my younger brother were absolute dogshit even after some bot matches, so rather than try to learn all of SR at once we just spammed aram. We learned more about champs that way and since it was basically a death match our mechanical ability shot up real quick. Completely alone, aram is not great for learning, but with someone else you can cover for each other.
: Why is league always down when i finally get a day off to actually play
Only another hours or so... assuming servers are supposed to be up 11 am pst and not 11 pm pst. Small indie companies sure do have trouble providing clear information.
: People who splitpushes to the end in URF is just the worst
Whats wrong with pushing? It's the best way to get the top 2 players on the enemy team to come fight you. Every. Single. Time.
: URF shouldn't be permanent. It gets immediately stale within a couple of games, because people abuse the same like 10 champions ad nauseum. It becomes a Pick or Play mode if you want to enjoy it, and even then, you can't actually enjoy it with champions you want to dick around with. The metas for URF evolve and lock in extremely fast, and all diversity gets cut off at the knees. In short, the game mode is toxic and unhealthy, because the community is incapable of appreciating it without turning it into a battle royale for cutthroat tryhards. That's why ARURF became a thing, to combat the community abuse, and it's why you now see so many people surprised with how terrible URF is now that they get to play it in all it's wretched glory.

I certainly know what you mean, especially with jhin wearing yuumi as some kind of turbo charged jockstrap. I feel the bans go a long way to help, well until someone on the enemy team picks Zac. I do try to focus on macro when I know i cant absolutely stomp enemy players. Honestly i just like playing rylai ekko, so maybe I fall into the category of tryhard and just dont notice how unbearable it is to play something purely for shits and giggles. Still though, for all the stats and arguments. It's a game... lmao. Should just be able to play even if it's like one weekend out of the month, or one wee every other month, etc.

Only managed 7 games yesterday due to time constraints. Got the rest of today (day 2 of 12) and I honestly cant wait.

: But... I'm having fun... the only complaint I have is when people are playing/being toxic. That's just normal though. Honestly I haven't ran into a champion that I was like, "well i'm screwed" not even Garen is as busted since he can't stack E. I think it's more people will be faster to type a complaint then a compliment. Personally URF either way doesn't change much for me I just enjoy it as a vacation from ranked and normal league.

I had a blast all yesterday winning or losing. The only time I wasnt was when this yas asked for us to ban malph. Malph got through because he wanted to ban vlad and we just did our own thing. He proceeded to hide in jg with no items for the entire duration. It was a somewhat even contest even without him, but it started to snowball in the enemy's favor. We killed malph plenty of times and could have benefited from his windwall so much, but he just refused to play. I spoke with him the entire time and he just somehow felt he was justified babyraging in a for fun mode. Honestly urf is fine but people gotta kick back and just have fun.

: Revert Asol
Ill chime in with my positives first. The added ms when stars are retracted really helps considering how many champs are unbearably hypermobile. Not only can qiyana do three dashes within 7 seconds, you have to try to miss her cc. Feels nice assuming you wanted to disengage. On to the negatives! We can start at the beginning: early game. It feels awful. Even with Electrocute and scorch your early burst just isnt meaningful. On top of that you cant wave clear as well as before either. These combine into a weak early game. Early skirmishes highlight this as your full combo will at best peel away 1/3 of anyones health bar while you stand around awkwardly offering your teammates moral support as a consolation for how useless you will be during those 8 unbearable seconds. I can only hope you see how this would feel cumbersome on a champ whos identity revolves around (heh, space pun) roaming. Speaking of which, I am so glad that roams are more strict. Sarcasm aside, the cooldown on comet of legend can inflate to 5 minutes like flash has for all I care. The best part of putting a point in E was the passive ms boost. Yes, it helped your macro but it opened up Asol to glide into a favorable position and was handy growing some distance similarly to the new W ms. The separate parts of the kit really fit together more so than they do now. I never took issue with late game. Considering you had aoe dps it wasnt uncommon to top the post game damage chart. I felt the damage was sufficient and having a perma slow death circle was more than enough to compensate otherwise. I would much rather have a more impactful early game to directly dictate the flow of the game. If I wanted to farm for 15+ minutes I could just play vlad or kass. Or even pre-rework Asol! I dont feel as though I need to touch on the rest of his kit so I wont, but let me be clear. My first main was sol who I picked up 4 years ago. I am unabashedly in favor of having his w be a toggle. Whether it does reduced damage to minions or it keeps that bursty buzzsaw speed before slowing down considerably as if to say "hey we wont force you to play a certain way but we will punish you for it" is of consequence to me. As long as _I_ am in control of _my_ _stars_ the rest is unimportant. Honestly Im just impressed not a day goes by without teemo being called the devil, yet rito banditos unironically claim they want to preserve him for the teemo mains. Meanwhile no one even bats an eye at asol and his core mechanics are stripped away. Its funny, really.
: [Gameplay Update] Aurelion Sol, The Star Forger
Just stop trying to keep roaming as part of his kit. If asol is going to be a roaming champ, reverting him is the best choice. Every single time any of you try to "improve" him you just hurt his roaming ability in favor of some flashy burst caster kit. 9.17 deleted his early damage output, and weakened his early map presence (on a 'roaming' champ kekw). Pre-rework E passive ms was what made asol macro and micro movements work. Without that his abilities just dont have that seamless synergy.

: You act like a small pool of meta champs is unique to this season or something.
I wont disagree, but I feel like I would see a lot more variety a year or 2 back.
Dynikus (NA)
: By months, do you mean years? I can't recall a time when ahri wasn't a safe pick with an above average winrate.
In the three years that I came into contact with league. I do not remember a single time ahri wasnt played a bunch.

: High Elo ASol Feedback
200k sol mastery since release. Would be higher but I had to step back when electrocute first came out (and my baby had a few nerfs already). He already got so many nerfs, and here they are applying more. Roaming champ with weak early game kekw just rip to my first main. Ill be waiting for my revert.
: first of all, thx for the respond. But, isnt it possible to just launch the rework on live servers and to add the visual updates later on?
I said this a month ago (when reworkong had sat for 2 months in pbe already). Wu got nerfed into the dirt long ago. Anyone interested in him would much rather have the ability to play him rn as opposed to waiting on new particles for months at a time.
Kazekiba (NA)
: I really don't see what is bad about the changes; What did they take away? His W has a 2 second cooldown at max rank, its back up as soon as its down if you build any CDR - which you obviously will because you need {{item:3030}} or {{item:3040}}. RoA may be an option too in pre-season when/if they rework the item as tested back in mid-season to be not complete trash. I understand, his W takes a little getting used to but the QoL improvements on Q and E changes are very very welcome as well, making up for the brief windows in which W slows down or retracts making it harder to finish off opponents that have already been chunked down. I see new ASol as more of a siege/poke champ that whittles you down until you can't stand the tide of battle anymore, able to seamlessly CS and DPS his opponent through the minion waves simultaneously if played perfectly, with a semi-global dash to gank for his side laners at weird, unpredictable angles. > [{quoted}](name=Jesi Oni,realm=EUNE,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=xpv4k3gf,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2019-09-05T13:55:58.281+0000) > > If mains would have any say in the matter then Pantheon and Katarina would remain unchanged. > > Not that ASol should be touched out of many other champions like... Kalista or Twistted Fate. Pantheon was kept pretty much in tact, so I dont get this.
You like the new e? You enjoy having as much ms as anivia on a champ that (still) relies on positioning to deal damage? Despite being a 'roaming' champ he had his early game neutered. Right when roams are the most important. He no longer has sustained dps, but his burst is weaker than a burst mage. This clunky new amalgamation of hybrid playstyles does none of them well. One clear loss is that of sol's zoning and peel as well. - In regards to the mains thing, wu also had a low wr/pr. Rito still worked closely with the monkey mains to do them justice. Asol mains were just ignored without any kind of agreeable medium. Literally all they had to drop was a minion damage nerf, and that would have solved any kind of "interactivity" issues.

Voice packs, Map skins, etc. Request denied. You get chromas that cost as much as skins, and you have to spend money for in game achievements.

: I'm done. Uninstalled, season 9 just broke me
> All these things could be figured out if you actually played your own game one of my secret wet dreams tbh to get designers who play this game actually and engage with players Every time I bother to play a game I am faintly reminded that the people working on league of legends dont actually play it.

: {{sticker:zombie-brand-clap}} Looks like someone found a hidden feature! They were able to do that goldish text by using a /me command before the text. It's kind of similar to old school chat emotes! This feature seems like something that was left in the code, since removing chunks like that can take quite a bit of effort, so it was left in! I'm not 100% sure if this is permanent 'feature' or not, so don't be surprised if it happens to not work one day.
Today is that day... or maybe it was yesterday. You get the idea.
: {{champion:28}} Pretty much useless passive in ARAM {{champion:427}} Actually useless passive in ARAM {{champion:203}} Fairly gimped in any mode without jungle camps {{champion:75}} Incredibly gimped in any mode without easy access to minions {{champion:20}} Fairly gimped in any mode without large monsters It's a disadvantage, sure, so don't play those champions in the modes where you can choose them and if you get them in a mode where they're bad- reroll. Otherwise, tough luck, RNG hates you. They can't balance champions around every possible mode. They're balanced around Summoner's Rift primarily, with the odd tinkering for ARAM and TT. Anything else is specifically just to stop OP champions.
Spiritfire farmfest tho. Grab that splief and let the gold come rolling in.
: New Client rejoin game problem
I also hope riot fixes it. For now Ill just sit here listening to the game i cant seem to participate in. Good thing they focused on important things like making sure we had replays... ~~oh sorry for necro~~
