: Small Diana Gameplay changes coming to PBE
For reference I have 500k Mastery on Diana and been playing her since season 5 I believe. What the fuck did you do to Diana? I go on the reddit to see news about the changes and hear that they are TERRIBLE. I figured they might be overreacting but then I go onto the PBE and test her out. She is literally half a champion now. *Attack speed buff could be swapped out but you need to compensate it not punish it by nerfing the ratio on Passive. Move speed does not = Attack speed and being able to stick to them to auto doesnt help us kill them when we are still attacking like snails. *E is not a "Assassin" ability. Its a "Diver" ability. Divers also have some form of consistent damage if built towards it. But you took away our consistent damage. *R got STRAIGHT NERFED with NO COMPENSATION what so the fuck ever. Not only does it feel clunky to use but now we have to deal with the decreased damage and a longer kill time. In short this change KILLED Diana. I am straight up uninstalling if these changes make it to live cause it shows that obviously no one on the balance team plays a lick of Diana. If yall thought MOAR MOVE SPEED was the answer to Diana not having an escape then I guess we forgot Phase Rush exists and before that Storm Raider's Surge. These list of changes should just be completely scraped. They do NOTHING for Diana in ANY category. Assassin Diana was weakened because of R passive changes and Fighter Diana just plain stopped existing.

This whole idea sounds bad. Counterplay is essential in a game like LOL especially if you play only 1 champion.

Its warping her gameplay hugely and base damage of Silver Bolts at Rank 1 is causing her early game to not be as weak as intended. Aftershock could be changed by giving it scaling percent resistances, rewarding tank usage + not being obnoxious early while giving real moments of heightened power with a keystone. Or give it Ranged/Melee variations.

Or give it Ranged/Melee variations. The issue with aftershock becomes scaling again is that it would go back into the spot it was in before the flat resists change. It was changed so people like liss or vi or people who dive could use it in exchange for damage.

It was changed so it could be used on squishies. It used to be percentage but no one took it cause it was bad. The rune is abused on 2 champs, galio is dead afaik. Liss was strong before aftershock. It isnt aftershock's fault and even then not all of them use aftershock, some use comet or electrocute. The rune is fine, nerf the champ.

Before the change, it was only used on tanks and even then they still preferred damage because the values were shit early and games didnt last long to make use of it. If it still ran on percentage instead of flat then it would be straight up USELESS now because of the true damage bukakke that riot has did to us. Its fine how it is now. Its meant to make divers and engagers much safer in exchange for damage. Pyke has an execute but looses a lot of damage from electrocute since the damage from aftershock isnt always reliable. Liss can actually engage without having to pop her cool downs with less fear of getting popped instantly. She can actually play the way she is meant to be played. If Courage of Colossus was still in the game and introduced as a new rune as a replacement to aftershock, you bet your ass people would take it on her as a replacement to help her survivability.

I dont even play rakan but wouldnt a better nerf be to nerf his super fast and reliable engage with RW? Just change R to have a slight delay before casting W and make it to where you can R mid W animation and would have to wait the entire W animation out.

Have you all thought about making items adaptive? I could see Spear of Shojin being adaptive and adding new items to fit in with it that fit the adaptive theme. We need some more item variety and adaptive damage is a great addition. Would be great to see diana or kayle have more than 1 attack speed item to go into.

Essence reaver has always been under performing if I remember correctly expect when a champion was super mana hungry and even then it wasnt always a first buy.

: Huge Problem with Tanks: Mid-tier items feel awful.
Idea for a tank item would be: "Name here" Stats- Melee only 2800 Gold 50 armor 50 magic resist 15% tenacity Items to build- {{item:1031}} {{item:1057}} Passive- attacking an enemy champion lets you resist their strongest damage type by X% adding 1% for every 50 armor and MR you have stacking up to 90% after X amount of seconds. When out of combat resists begin to deteriorate. Active- Send out tendrils that latch on to enemies allowing you to gain resistances to each enemy tagged with a tendril. Enemies can walk out of range of tendrils to break the link causing the resist type to deteriorate faster than normal if you they were not the last person hit. This encourages you to get into the middle of the fight and actually fight. You gain tankiness for bravery.

I prefer now over back then for sure. Im not a fan of 40+ minute games and never was. I also like where the rune system went since it adds quite a bit of meaningful variety. I actually notice the stats and effects now compared to before rune reforge where everything other than the keystones were just stat sticks which you didnt notice half the time. Games were quite boring before season 8. I also enjoy the damage values as of now compared to before. The only thing I dislike is zoe/irelia/akali being a thing but other than that 9/10 would play this version. Edit: Another gripe I have is this "PC" culture that has taken on a new form of it's own and continues to get worse. I remember being able to shit talk the enemy team and it being all fun then out of nowhere people are super sensitive to everything.

I think its to stop chained damage especially with liss coming into play with her new passive. That with dark harvest in a team fight will be insane.

: Towers are actually useless
I honestly think tower should do percentage health true damage. Keep them weak early but if it isnt down 15 minutes then have fun trying to tower dive when its pumping out vayne silver bullets every shot. Objectives are just as important as dealing with other champions so why dont they feel as important? For full team 700 gold we need some behemoths to be protecting us. Diving needs to be risky regardless of items. Fear the tower.

You can actually completely dodge tower shots assuming it isnt ramped up. Already tested on PBE. You could auto and run back in before it fires.

I think they should keep her gameplay linear. Some simplicity is good for the game. They should add some more effects to her abilities and change around the numbers to give her kind of a fresh coat of paint since most know how to deal with her. More ways for her abilities to interact with moonlight.

If they made some of the items adaptive stats instead then this would fix and break a lot of things but if they give diana a passive that converts AD into AP then we could finally see some diversity. Imagine Diana with Essence Reaver or Static Shiv.

They just need to take the "top" players in each division and ask about what is working and not working in league and how they might be able to improve and compile this information, find the similarities and balance accordingly after they add their **_Riot _**touch and go from there. Pretty sure this would fix the age old argument of riot only balancing for high level play by finding things every division finds busted or a bit overboard.

I personally think she could use a rework or more of a redistribution of power because currently she cant be buffed without giving squishies hell since her Offense = Defense and its all upfront burst that isnt really gated by anything besides mana unlike other assassins that have stupid damage but they must fulfill certain requirements to do the most damage. Diana is a DIVER and this has been classified by riot. Vi is also a diver and has the items to build as such but diana sadly doesnt because of how ap items are. I personally feel they need to take her from diver to full on bruiser or keep the diver feel but reduce her damage in exchange for tankiness. They need to get their noob asses back to co-op, surely that will help them learn what to expect when playing against other players!

: I'm going to try my best to win a game of normals, but honestly losing ain't a big deal. That's why they are NORMALS. Sometimes I will go some weird ass troll build, but that doesn't mean I'm there to intentionally lose or be a toxic bitch. But I'm not going to cry if our Nexus explodes. Ranked is for trying to win, and I will go a little try hard in those games. But if you're gonna rage at me like some weak minded bitch, I will tell you exactly the game mode you are playing, and you can queue for ranked next time if you are looking for more serious match making.

Its not so much losing but more of the way I lost. Calling my jng in lane to help me push cause shes near then having her run into the kat at half health with defensive stats and an ignite and no whereabouts of the enemy jng and then proceed to do nothing for 15 minutes is report worthy.

: People are allowed to play casually, and some people are frankly bad (but are still allowed to play the game). Ranked exists for a reason if you want to be competitive. Focus on your own gameplay, you can't improve others. I've had teammates like that in normals, but I've taken a few deep breaths and carried on, knowing it's not really worth holding onto for more than five seconds.

: The fact that damage is reduced does play a part. Let's say you have 100 health out of 1000. That means you have 10% maximum health. If Illaoi hits you with her E, your Soul has 10% maximum health as well. ALL damage Illaoi does to the SOUL is not reduced. HOWEVER. The damage that is transmitted FROM the SOUL to YOU IS. Since the damage transmission is 45% at rank 5, that means she would, AT MAXIMUM, deal 45 damage to YOU from killing your soul. Ergo, she cannot kill you through killing your soul.
Illaoi can kill you with E if you are lower than it. Even at 100% dmg conversion she still cant kill you without true damage since the clone doesnt take true dmg but you do.

You are letting the nostalgia cloud your thoughts. There was no essence to them. It was literally a 6 minute video telling you what the champ does and situations. There wasnt any emotion in phreak's voice like it is with later spotlights. It was them telling you about the champ and situations in where they have their use.

Having said that, I wouldn't necessarily recommend LSD for an everyman's consumption. One thing it does at all stages of it's taking in is amp sensitivity. And i'd rather not see people who don't talk about stress-indulging problems consume something that massively thins the damm that holds their emotions. May not be the case for everyone, but again, also, i don't look at the few in this case, only at the many. If it really, and i mean REALLY, works out for you, then i can't stop you even if i wanted to (which believe me i do want to, badly). But that shouldn't mean that now everyone can play the game while on a trip to god knows where. And to simultaneously reply to the answer you gave to me: The question isn't so much as to how badly you performed, the question is at who's expense was it. People mostly don't speak up out of the dread for getting punished. Sure, the punishment system won't immediately ban someone if they call you a druggie, but the stereotype that it will is very strongly present, and the only people who really disregard it are smurfs....which would equal to 2 out of 10 players per game you face. And as for the fun direction, usually what you said is right. but that logic by public announcement doesn't apply to LoL. An example i very much love to bring up are the smite singed and smite nunu support cases. They always communicated with their team, made their intentions clear, had fun, played good, won a lot, yet they still went and received banthreats from rioters because your fun cannot come at the expense of your team's regardless of your peformance. Since lol is an egomanic's game, winning still feels frustrating to a lot of people because it wasn't how they wanted it to be. Don't get me wrong, i'd love for lol to allow people their fun, but only in rare occassions will people find fun in the game without somehow disregarding and/or disrespecting someone else within that same game. I agree to having fun, but i don't agree to it being at expenses regardless of how well someone played or how hard that player won the game for the team. As selfish as it sounds, a win isn't satisfying if it had to be done with angry gritting teeth.

Riot giving bans cause people wanna play unorthodox ways and are successful at times without say but the moment they fuck up its ban threats is a problem. I cant speak for them on that. On the drug note. LSD can and will chew you up and spit you out if you dont respect it. This is why telling people "DRUGS ARE BAD" only harms them, because they dont do research and when confronted with a choice to take it, end up not having any knowledge on it because they havent been told anything besides "dont do it" and are surprised and scared when shit hits the fan. I have the common sense to research something and test it before taking it. Even then I make sure I am in the proper setting and not to be excessive. OD'ing on LSD is rare and there havent been any reported cases of someone dieing directly related to OD'ing on it. This doesnt mean you cant take doses way out of your comfort zone and freak out. People in PBE would call me druggie and make fun of me when I announced it without repercussions or care it seems. Those who asked how I was or what I was feeling or seeing asked with little care and I guess just wanted to get an explanation to the experience. MY experience has been great and my game quality improved I feel. I cant be inside everyone's mind so I dont know how they really felt but I can never know unless they tell me and those that did tell me told me and I took it into consideration to play a bit more safe and careful, allowing my team to do the carrying and tried not to feed. Those who didnt care and were interested in my experience ended up having a great time win or lose it seemed and we went on with the match. Bad matches will happen regardless of your state of mind and league is just that kind of game where winning just isnt that satisfying regardless of the match.

So that still brings us back the main statement of my post, which is an intended neglect for your team. Your own joy and fun are by riot's own say, secondary when it comes to working with your team. And how much worse do those teammates feel when not only you do make a mistake, but you additionally don't care you did it? The typical effect is they get even more frustrated and angry, promptly boosting toxicity, rather than diminishing it. No matter how one looks at it, the contra-arguments far outweight the pro-arguments. And while some people don't suffer solely negative effects, like the person in the video who made the ask, that doesn't negate the negative effects and their impact on others. It is plain unfair that you can lose someone else's game and seemingly get away because you took consumables so you weren't as tilted as you normally would be.

No one is saying they should be excused for bad play because they were on drugs. If you play bad or troll then expect the same punishment as those who do the same. If you play a little worse but end up having more fun then prepare for consequences if you played like you were trolling. If you want to get into a drug debate then we can. Weed, in some countries, is arguably legal under medical description but LSD like this guy says he takes is highly illegal. And incase he argues back, no, correct dosage or not, the very consumption in itself is not allowed, nobody cares if you walk away physically unharmed by taking it. Ignoring the public scandal Riot would suffer from turning a blind eye on drug-consuming players, the Ideology that it is okay because the consumer itself, and only he/she, is okay with it, needs to end as well. A Game in LoL consists of 10 players, one feeling good doesn't justify the other 9 feeling shitty.

The global legal substances are more dangerous than the illegals ones since they are easier to get and are just as addicting. LSD is much safer than any of those drugs mentions besides weed but weed has it's other big problems. I never mentioned how much the dosage is but regardless of the dosage I am able to keep my cool and play because I understand my limits. Now not everybody is like that and as I mentioned above that they understand the consequences of feeding, intoxicated or not and it goes from there. People can kill people but morals and consequences stop them from doing so. Apply this to league and its the same things. Not everyone is going to play intoxicated but some will and everybody understands the consequences. What happens from that it up to riot's justice system.
