{{summoner:12}} The TP nerf. It used to be the main reason that top lane actually was able to have an affect on the game, because at any moment, a beefy brawler could pop into a fight. In other cases, it allowed weaker melees to survive lane top lane, due to lower tp cooldowns, which allowed laners to more liberally use tp to get back to lane. Granted, it needed a nerf, since everyone was using tp flash, instead of any other combo of summoners. But still, I think the TP nerf is what lead to the current state of top lane

reducing exp = more camps needed to stay up in levels this means more time needed in the jung farming which is bad for gank heavy jungs and good for farming junglers. At the same time, it becomes more punishing to fail a gank and get counterjungled.

Iirc, the Sion's won that off of pure HP scaling. We had w to chunk them, but since its a huge cd, best we could do was take turns eating one guy and stunning everyone else who came near. After like 50 mins though, they all had ridiculous amounts of hp to work with and warmogs to regen back up when we were ganging up on 1 guy

The best I've ever played was 5 Kenches vs 5 Sions. 1 sion would try to fight 1 kench, then both teams would ult over to help out. And since both sides were insanely tanky, by the time to killed someone and got a 2nd to near death, the first person was respawned

A. Yas really isn't a late game champ. His reduced crit damage ensures that. In fact, he is a champ that peaks at midgame, due to having a strong 2 item spike and really consistent dps. B. If yas is beating your ass solo, then you are doing something wrong as these days, most melees have the damage/stats to beat him, and mages don't really have issues farming from range once they get Lost Chapter

: I have had two ideas I think could work. One is a straight nerf. Scaling duration with Ranks. Not about 4 seconds at all ranks. The other is a rework. Switching Windwall and his Ult around. Make Windwall his Ult. Give it a longer duration say 6 seconds and its width would scale like 400/500/600. Its CD would be like 90/60/30 His W would become a knock up reliant dash onto a single target. It would cause one double crit damage instance and give Yas a set amount of Lethality or Armor Pen depending on rank that lasts like 3-5 seconds. This would make his Windwall a teamfight tool more than a personal shield. And he still has INSANE solo duel potential do to the reworked Knockup Dash.
I will point out that tying his main defensive tool to his ult will necessitate you to hard buff him in other areas. Either he will need base stats so good that he doesn't need windwall to survive, or you increase his damage to the point where he doesn't need defense at all

spawns at 35 doesnt mean that a team will get it at 35.... Baron spawns at 20 mins, but how often do you see teams that aren't insanely ahead take it (without sneaking it) And with elder being so strong, it's even harder to take it without a massive fight.

You then wait for your wave to stack up and use the minion advantage to push into their tower to reset then back. They can't freeze if you don't let them. They can't tank an entire stacked wave and you at the same time. Or just continue to cry because you'd rather be a victim than learn anything. Good example
You realize that the problem in these lanes, is that if they "harass" you, it's generally for a good 30% or more of your hp? So yeah, I'll 100% break my own freeze in order to force you to back or risk getting all inned. And then the moment you back, I push to tower, and either force a tp, or get a few plates, giving me a major gold and exp advantage, which I then use to snowball further and further. And it's now like that's anything new, Top lane has always been snowbally. The problem now, is that counterpicks are feeling too strong, to the point where matchups you used to be able to win through skill or stalling, now end up as total wipes.

I think the best way to give him more skill expression, is to tie most of his tankiness to his W active. Remove the farmable stats from it, but change W so that it's CD gets lowered depending on how much damage you "absorb" during the active period. it'll make him weaker in low elo, while giving him some more skill expression. Or to get really crazy, move farmable stats to his passive, and move his healing to be an after affect of W active, where he heals for a flat amount per sec that can be increased depending on how much damage he "absorbed" during W. While he will lose the advantage of sitting back to regen a ridiculous amount of hp, he will get the benefit of being more sustainable during fights

Worlds is coming up, so Riot is making sure the game is relatively neutral before it, meaning champs that show strong presence in pro play will get nerfed so that they don't end up dominating worlds. Also, while the majority of the playerbase is basically silver and below, one can't balance a game around the players who are unable to use champions to their fullest potential

: A simple trick would be allow different defenses. Range AD vs Range Def Melee AD vs Melee Def Melee AD vs Range Def Range AD vs Melee Def Armor is general AD Def Some champs tank better against melee, some champs tank better against range, some champs are all around. Make Range a factor if something is Melee or Range If a range is in "melee range" they do the Melee dmg, so if a Melee champ has high Range Def, they have to get close to them to deal that extra damage, but risking their own safety. This way Range can't just abuse Melees and adds more risk vs reward to the Range champions. AP was exempt in this situation to simplify.
I've suggested something similar years back (like 4 years+). The response I got was that it would be A. Hard to code B. Convoluted and C. require a full re-balancing of the game.
