Hi Meddler; thanks for taking the time to post these, as always. About shortening the minion spawn time - I think everyone can agree that they'd rather not spend 1 minute idly looking at emote animations almost every game. That being said, perhaps the solution is to encourage more invades?

As a mage player, I can see where Riot is coming from. Getting a single mana item should not cause a champion to become resourceless. That being said, I feel like mages have kinda been balanced around rushing a mana item to remove their mana gating. Removing that capability with only marginal buffs to spellcasting in the very early levels is a massive nerf that is undeserved. If mages are expected to be mindful of their mana bar lategame even with a lost chapter item, fine. If that's the case, each spellcast should have more agency - maybe an AP ratio buff to the affected champs, or changes to the Sorcery tree rewarding ability combos, or nerfs to MR itemization, are in order.

: Top Lane is the new support.
Not really, because supports have a ton of agency nowadays and aren't anything like the wardbots they were in S3. Top lane tanks are still good, but imo the only way to play the traditional ~~jaded older male streamer~~ top-lane fighters is to splitpush. I had a game a ffew days ago where every lane won woth bot going even in kills but my team took turret first. Their Jax top was just relentlessly splitpushing, however, despite being 0/3 from ganks in early lane phase. We even had Baron+Elder at one point, but couldn't do anything with it because of Jax splitpush pressure. We ended up losing a 45 minute game despite having double the enemy's kills because of their 6/7/0 530 CS Jax. The days of being able to teamfight as characters like Irelia or Jax are gone. Either play toplaners that bring utility, like Sion, Maokai, or even Camille, or splitpush.

: I seriously hate lux supports with a passion.
Meanwhile ever since Riot buffed the return shield last season, her W is a stronger AOE shield than Karma R+E... Lux support with W max and enchanter items could do work last season. Main issue with it is people stepping out of the backswing and not getting a massive shield. It probably is still fine, but people play Lux support for damage and so havent realized it

Why would you ever pick him? Riot still thinks he is fine :D :D :D
Not really. More like his kit has inherrent problems that buffing his stas won't solve (they are already pretty good) and arent willing to put in the time yet to give him a full vgu.

Just like Camille, Kalista, Yasuo, etc. Ekko finally ended up being more or less balanced eventually, but started out OP because he was, and still is, overloaded. He can do more things than the average assassin, and still often thrives in situations better-suited towards fighters, due to his crowd control and defensive tools, while still having good poke and waveclear. He doesn't do any particular thing terrifically well, besides maybe waveclear, but the simple fact that he can do so much is enough to give him an out in most scenarios, which is tremendously irritating for anyone with a less loaded kit to deal with. I agree with you. Ekko's real issue is that he is kind of a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none type of champion. It's funny because in a lot of ways Ekko is actually *balanced*, but yet he *can* be irritating to play against because of his kit. He isn't really "weak" at any point in the game, but I would never say he is too strong, I wouldn't waste a ban on him, but I still find it annoying to play against him. Really odd, I suppose.
Since preseason his early lane phase is pretty weak because he can't kill caster minions with 2Qs anymore. After level 3 he's pretty good, though can be tough to close out games with
: Its always been one of the 3 builds. Either proto/lich, Gunblade/lich or FQC/Deathcap.
Its been known to Ekko mains for around a year now; idk how its suddenly getting coverage by non-Ekko main mid lane streamers

: Your Least Favorite Champion in the Game
For me it's Zed. As a midlaner, if your opponent is significantly better than you, most of the time you'll be fine 1v1 if you play safe and waveclear. You may lose CS and pressure, but hanging back and making sure you sidestep that Lux Q/Fizz R is a pretty reliable strat to avoid feeding. This rule does not seem to apply to Zed. He is an easy matchup if you are better than the opponent, a fair one if they're around the same skill level, and nearly impossible to avoid feeding if they're way better than you.
: Why is riot as harsh as it is on trash talk but not actual trolling
When you are toxic, you are attacking someone personally. You may not get it because you are super secure or something, but a lot of people are vulnerable, and are really hurt and upset when someone is mean to them. And no, being sensitive doesn't make it their fault. Trolling is difficult to discern from just being bad, which is not a punishable offense
AR URF (NA)
: I think it's time we got hexakill back.
They'll get it in someday, but a lot of those modes require UI changes (like hexakill showing 6 slots for champions in champ select and score tab instead of 5) which have not yet been implemented into the new client.
: this "get in, get kill, get out" is not actually a practical style of play, rather it seems to exist in some fantasy only. try ulting a carry when enemy team is grouped up as Zed/Kha'zix/Rengar....it'll be a 99% failed attempt against not fullBronze teams. now back to j4, when u build full assassin, u play like an assassin, like lurking around, looking for most favorable moment to get in and kill that scrub ADC instead of press R like a full tank malphite as soon as u see enemy team grouped. and for some reason, full AD lethality J4 is a lot lot better than actual AD assassin at 1 shotting a high priority squishy. Rengar leaps, he dies, J4 E-Q-R, ADC dies.
More like better at getting in + has a chance to get out/can force enemy to chase you for a bit until they do manage to get you. AD Jarvan is go in oneshot and die lul
: Wtf kind of bullshit are you on, Yorick dosent one shot unless he's full ad or fed. With trinity he kills you in 5 seconds at most.
Maybe true oneshots are pretty hard to get as Yorick with a normal build, but just being moderately fed with {{item:3078}} {{item:3748}} {{item:3053}} makes auto-Q reset-Titanic reset do like 80% of a squishes health. Add in ult or ghoul damage and you could be looking at a oneshot. Which is totally fine. Juggernauts are allowed to have that kind of damage when they build their damage items and people get in melee range of them.
Dasdi96 (NA)
: I am 99.99% convinced that riot hates the fighter class.
: So why do some assassins have 5 hr delays while someone like akali doesn't?
Akali also has to auto attack. Not that its a huge delay to her burst, but it does force her to stop moving for a split second. This, combined with the rather long static CD of her ult, means that if she gets CC'd while autoattacking, or even slowed while her target uses their escape, there's almost no chance of her closing the gap.
: The short answer is no. The proper answer, however, is much more complicated. Obviously you're going to get better at the game the more you play, but not everyone learns at the same rate nor everyone plays the same amount of games, and even if they did, not everyone is willing to actually get good at the game (I have friends who have played for about 5 years by now and still have no fucking idea how to last hit properly). It isn't a secret that the game is more snowbally right now, but it isn't really tied to people being better or worse than a year ago.
Eh. Nearly every champ thats released nowadays would be among the most difficult champs in the game if released back in s1 or s2. Think of the "old school" hard champs, like Orianna or Vayne. In 2017 theyre certainly not easy, but neither are they as complicated as 90% of the releases in the last two years.

Err, not quite. I've never heard of lawyers being self-absorbed before for one thing. And I have no idea what makes you think lawyers in particular have something against net neutrality. There are liberal laywers and there are conservative ones. And furthermore, I'm pretty sure that my dad specifically would be pro-net neutrality, as the term is usually used (though he'd insist that the concept of ISPs having reigns over what they show their consumers has nothing to do with net neutrality and that its an entirely seperate concept).

What do you mean by double dip? Many mages are countered by MR, so why is Zoe an exception by having true damage???
So the way Zoe W wakeup damage works is it matches the damage of the spell/auto that woke the target, but as true damage and up to a cap (the W's base + AP portion). If Zoe wakes up the target with a 1000 damage Q and the target has 100 MR after Zoe's magic pen is considered, they will take 500 magic damage from the Q hitting, and 500 true damage from the wakeup. If the wakeup damage wasn't true, they would take 250 extra damage in that case, which wouldnt be double the wakeup spells damage. Its the same reason why knights vow redirects damage taken as true damage. Riot decided that resists counting twice, or "double dipping", would be unfair. Just be thankful they thought otherwise for Zed ult and Shadow Assassin Kayn passive.

: Imo Celerity is garbage atm because while it scales to bonus move speed, that's a pretty capped AP/AD bonus. If you manage 500 move speed, that amounts to about a whopping 12 AP on most champs. You can get 100 AP on transcendence, and most 500 move speed champs are using Mobis, which turn off in combat......
That MS to AP/AD thing is just a gimmick and much worse than you think since its only your bonus MS that gets converted to AD/AP. The real value is in the 4% bonus MS. Also, you only get 100 AP on Transcendence if you go some ridiculous build that gets every CDR item with AP, AND it would only be at full build too, while the 4% extra MS from Celerity is active the entire game, so that isn't a fair comparison.

: Like quin, fizz, leesin, zed, and vayne don't already do those things.
What? Those champs are not teamfighters, and none of them have Sol's waveclear or can roam as quickly. Theyre all champs that shit on Sol in 1v1s, however, which is important, because if Sol had an easy solution to them he would be way OP

: There are no proper runes for Mages
I think people act like comet being potentially dodgeable = it will usually be dodged unless you have CC. It won't. Its like saying Karthus or Cass Q will always be dodged
: He wouldn't struggle against hypermoble champions so much, if riot would give him some quality of life buffs, like letting him reactivate his Q to stun enemies in melee range.
He would be op if that were possible. His extreme weakness to melee gapclosing champs is what keeps a champion who can push like no one else, roam like no one else, and teamfight as well as the best immobile mages, balanced.
: Lets start with its unique component. It needs to fully stack to even be relevant, you lose shitloads of mana to get zhyonias and a bit of dmg since morelo is a powerspike. Zhyonias to protect you to the fullest needs you to be under turret or friendly presence since even with zhyonias the attacker can simply wait for stasis to end to kill you. Oh and the active has 120 sec cd even early most ultimates will be up.
Some of the new runes help out Zhonyas CD a ton though... you can get it very low with a Domination+Inspiration page
: Oh its easy. glp costs more than roa and roa gives more hp ( it takes time tho) and since the mages that want roa also want hp, glp wont do.
I didn't say outright better, just that GLP is definitively not a garbage item and should be purchased more. At 65%, it has the strongest slow of any slowing item (by magnitude), making it great for setting up skillshots or kiting. It also deals a hefty amount of damage (and no, RoA's 20 more AP at max stacks doesnt come anywhere close to matching GLP active damage on any champ). A few AP champs even get Gunblade despite not having AD scalings, which should indicate the value of a 40 sec CD active that slows and deals around half the damage of the ability you max first. If having that active is worth the 1000+ gold sunk into AD on LeBlanc, surely RoA champs could stand to lose a few hundred gold in stats for such an active.

Nyneave Soraka, here to help and heal, gentle sometimes, but explosive if angered, willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good. Loial Maokai, friend of the trees and protector of nature. Does this make Lan Yasuo and Riven Moiraine? An unusual pair who have to live with one another's existence whether they like it or not lol Thom as Shaco is a little too accurate, I don't think Thom is crazy enough though.
No way Riven is Moiraine lol its been stated that she's poor at fighting. Maybe Janna? Yasuo as Lan is good enough, I suppose. And I would cast Padan Fain as Shaco. I really wish there was a Thom champion - maybe Talon with a voiceover to not sound like a footpad?

: {{item:3157}} Nerfed to oblivion. {{item:3003}} A small number of champs can stack it in time - has cd AND cost {{item:3102}} Good against ap - SUPER niche/borderline useless against ad {{item:3030}} Sure, if my pick is swain or sol {{item:3151}} Decent choice. Too bad it wont help you against lethality. {{item:3025}} Im pretty sure the ONLY mage capable of buying this item is ryze and even then under certain circumstances. {{item:3027}} Takes precious time to scale and its good only on mages that are expected to sustain dmg ( not burst ) aka swain-ryze-cass Dude please next time use some logic on why we need more defence against ad. Hp wont help against lethality and zhyonias alone cant help. Hell most of the times its bad to rush zhyonias since you hit your dps way too hard. I could buy morelo instead of zhyonias. Yes i will be killed by their assassin but at the very least i will be able to deal dmg with morelo, something that i wouldnt be able to do with zhyonias.
Why exactly do people not like GLP? The active and build path of the item are quite strong. It should at the very least be considered on the mages who get RoA.
: Dark Herald is Aginor? I think? correct me looks like a Fade though, haven't been to WoT wiki in a long time. Also I want Lux to be either Egwene or Elayne

: As a top lane main, i'm miserable. The game has never before been this cruel to me.
Toplaner fighters are almost always the strongest 1v1 champ on the team, excepting fed carry jungler or fed melee assassin mid. Sure, outside of splitpushing they're pretty useless, but they certainly have agency at that. Toplane tanks pretty much guarantee that you win the game if your carries go even or are ahead because they're teamfighting monsters and enable your mid lane control mage and/or hypercarry ADC to just destroy everything. And while percentage HP damage is strong against tanks, you can mitigate it by focusing on resists instead of health, by focusing CC on the tank-killing threat, or even by avoiding the tank-killers damage. You can choose when to be a meat shield and when to sidestep a skillshot. OP is spouting hyperbole. Yeah top lane is likely the least impactful role atm, but the margin by which this is true is way smaller than OP makes it out to be.
: I only care about a little lifesteal and CDR, honestly, for non-AP champs. I also saw exactly what a bloodrazor Yi with lethal tempo can do, and if that's not going to be addressed then I don't see why we can't have more options for a glorified mastery page that includes a small amount of lifesteal and/or cooldown to keep us able to fight these abominations.
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/preseason-update/8000-8005?build=00220316 http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/preseason-update/8000-8005?build=00220113 There ya go. Two different pages that give lifesteal, two forms of mana sustain, and CDR.
: Playing Overwatch, I 100% agree with your assessment. These games go about 10-12 for a "long" match and its generally a lot more fun and enjoyable as its six on six. The problem with these runes and masteries? They are basically just masteries. Problem is, you lose any advantages you had due to a well organized rune/mastery page. What about hybrid champs who benefit from AP and AD? Only one aspect gets "adaptive damage" instead. Lifesteal to start? Nope, if you die you die. Run out of mana? Too bad, if you aren't AP you can't restore mana or have that lousy 1.25% regen every five seconds. I'd be fine if they had seven slots to add final touches like 1% lifesteal, 1% spellvamp, 2% attack speed, 1 lethality or 1 magic pen, etc - I liked to start with 5% cdr and 5% lifesteal on any non-AP champ but hey, screw what I want because change for no reason is good!
Why exactly do you think non-AP champs are locked out of mana regen and the 5% CDR mastery?
: The sub tree for Electrocute isn't great on mages though, I'm struggling with what to run on Viktor right now.
Viktor has interesting options. Electrocute procs on Q->auto->E trades, but Domination isn't a good tree on him. Comet is great on him, no complaints. Its much less damage than electrocute, but its so easy to proc, and Sorcery has great masteries for Vik Phase Rush helps with kiting and surviving ganks, but it seems pretty weak on ranged champs. Unless he uses ult, he'll need an auto to proc it, which makes it less good at running away from a diver or assassin. Glacial Augment gives him a pseudo-rylais, allowing him to land the 2nd part of his E and giving easy slow utility for gank setups or kiting. Only issue is how to fit in a GLP or FQC into his already-crowded build to take full advantage. And while the Inspiration masteries are good, not all of them compare to their sorcery counterparts, particularly the first row. Kleptomancy is arguably abused by Viktor because he can proc it so easily without sacrificing a normal trading pattern. I've tried this on the PBE, and the main issue is inventory space. Because Viktor only has 5 item slots, and some of the Inspiration masteries take up item slots, you wont get the bags of gold just because theres no room for them. It also sucks lategame.
: "Do I want to run electrocute...or electocute?" is me right now with mages. Why on earth would you ever want to use the only dodgable keystone lol Aery is good if you heal or shield though. Phase rush obviously for champs like cass.
Idk why everyone acts like Comet is never going to land. It's like saying Karthus or Cass Q is impossible to hit - sure, if someone is only concentrating on dodging your comet at the expense of everything else, they probably will if they have boots/are good. But thats rarely the case, since if someone is slowed at all, or in animation, it will hit unless they use a dash. Its also the easist keystone to proc, as all it requires is landing a single ability. The CD is extremely short as well due to the reset mechanic.
: Mages seem to be getting shafted this preseason
Eh. Everyone complains about AP itemuzation (even though they have some pretty strong items, like Morellos, Void staff, sorc boots, lichbane, GLP) but honestly as an immobile mage player, champions like Viktor, Aurelion Sol, and Azir honestly just have such a good kit for winning games. AD casters **have** to get fed early and snowball the game, because they are such poor teamfighters. AD carries aren't threatening on their own until 3 items, and even afterwards they can be oneshot if you as the immobile mage play properly. Pressing buttons to unload a 3k damage combo in 1s from 900+ range is way more reliable than needing to right click (misclicks, anyone?) 3k damage worth of autos over 3+ seconds at 550+ range. So I guess I don't really mind AP itemization, save for ludens being undertuned and CDR outside of morellos only found on defensive options.
: Honestly: People want Riot to cover for their bad decisions/play too much
I had a game yesterday where my Sivir kept saying "Wow Riot, great coding" every time she got dove. According to her, getting dove early and both {{champion:497}} {{champion:119}} living was a bug
: No other Juggernaut is so reliant on perfect conditions to deal damage like Illaoi is. Not all need to be met but most of them do. Here are her conditions: She needs tentacles set up around her prior so that she has damage. If this isnt possible then she loses out on a bit of damage. She needs to land her E in order to not only have guarentee slams, but to also gain an advantage. She needs to be near her tentacles or else when she W's they wont even move. She needs her R active in order for her tentacles to actually hit the enemy. The only time her tentacles normally hit the enemy is when she is in laning phase with her Q or the enemy doesnt know how to dodge her tentacles in lane which is most of her damage. If she has no tentacles near her then she needs to land E+R to have a chance. If she misses her E then she will just spawn 1 tentacle vs 1 person and the enemy will almost not lose vs her then because her damage is pitiful. Illaoi needs to burst and kill her enemies within her 8 seconds of ult active. If she doesnt then she will probably die or nothing comes from it. Compare her to literally any other juggernaut(except Yorick) and watch how none of them are reliant on one specific combo to have a chance to fight their opponent. {{champion:122}} just needs to build stacks and position himself so that his Q hits the enemy with the blade. He isnt reliant on any specific combo to acheive this. {{champion:36}} is probably getting a relaunch but I'll include his current version. All he does is land his cleavers, use his E for damage, and his ult to stay in the fight longer. {{champion:86}} besides his villian mechanic giving him more damage, he literally just has to spin on the enemy for damage with his autos being filler. {{champion:75}} he just needs to Q, Q, and Q some more to kill the enemy. His ultimate makes his Q have a far lower cd for more damage. The condition Nasus has is having a decent amount of stacks on his Q. {{champion:2}} needs to land axes and actually be able to auto attack the enemy champion. His ultimate is there to make him harder to kite and CC. Does not require set up prior besides having his cds up. {{champion:82}} is getting a vgu but I'll include him anyways. Sort of needs an ally so that he can get the full use of his W. If not then he just can damage the enemy with his other spells while hopefully staying in range of the enemy. {{champion:102}} no real condition to fight an enemy champion besides having her ult ready to use. If she doesnt have ult then she just needs to land E and run the enemy down. Her ult is a bonus and is not mandatory to win a fight. {{champion:77}} same as Shyvana, just needs to stay in range and run the enemy down, no need for prep prior. {{champion:48}} same as Shyv and Udyr except this guys ult is actually useful. His only condition to win a fight is having his ult up. Does not rely on a combo to win besides landing R and running them down. {{champion:6}} this guy has no conditions besides having his W ready to use. He just needs to press W and move around the enemy. His ult is there to make sure the enemy cant escape with low health. His Q and E are there to help him move around the enemy. Does not rely on prep prior. He can fight anywhere at anytime unless he has no shotgun leg charges. {{champion:106}} same as Udyr and Shyvana except Volibear has needs his ult for the boost in damage. His only real condition for more damage is getting the enemy low for his bite to kill them. {{champion:83}} is similar to Illaoi in lane but loses the needing to build up tentacles/ghouls once he has ult. His ult immediately gives him ghouls without needing to build them up on minions. He needs to stay in melee range of the enemy to deal damage afterwards which he has his E and W to help with. If he doesnt have ult then similar to Illaoi, he needs to build up lots of ghouls prior to the fight. He is reliant on his ult but only his ult come later in the game. If he has no ult or ghouls he is useless. Edit: added Volibear and Yorick.
Nasus also should be Q'ing targets while they're standing on his E so he benefits from the armor shred
: Pretty sure the guy with the longest time without a skin is {{champion:6}} And no, in my opinion a VGU doesn't count as "new skins"...
In your opinion. You realize that on Riot's end, the only thing thay's easier about remaking a skin for a VGU is that the concept is already there. Everything else (splash, model, texture, particles, even sound most of the times) needs just as much effort as a new skin. And yet the prices aren't updated accordingly. Enchanted Galio is a 525 RP skin with 975 tier quality. So from Riot's perspective, Urgot just got 3 new 975 RP skins, and 2 of them were crap tier skins that many people just had from how long they've been around, so they won't even make much money off them.
: i would have liked this over another kat skin.. i mean when is too many skins for one champ going to be too many?
Diana is actually pretty lucky in the skin department TBH. She has 4 skins, all of which are 975 tier+.
: The new runes are just a mastery system.
It's a way of restricting the total number of possible unique rune pages but increasing the number of viable rune pages. With fewer overall posibilities to consider, Riot can put more effort into making all the possibilities balanced
: Slows don't stack and he's already got a slow - so ROA is just superior.
Slow is single target, so it doesn't help with double bomb stunning multiple people. Furthermore, in the context I'm talking about GLP in (setting up stuns) you gotta keep in mind that slowing a stunned target is pretty useless. {{champion:26}} 's hefty slow could be saved for after the stun wears off for additional CC, or for increasing his/someone on his team's movespeed.
