: Is it really weird to prefer text than mic?
I always preferred text over mic. I am not a bad speaker and my hearing is good enough, but I am just a much better writer than I am a speaker. That and I like to listen to music when I play games and most people I would imagine don't enjoy what I like to listen to. It's more for their sake than my own in those regards.

I don't think he has ever been OP. But he's one of the champions who can be strong in a new player's hands. Keep playing him, learn how he works and the game in general then swap over to something else. I believe that is what a majority of the players do. They play many different champions and try everything out when they have been here long enough.

: Moms Playing League
I don't agree with the guy who said parents have to give up video games to 100% focus on their children. Raising kids is stressful and you need to take care of your own self needs at times or else you'll burn yourself out. If video games make you happy then that's actually a good thing. Its a one-time investment with a significant amount of video games and many are even free. At the same time I do not think that this should be the video game you turn to. A game of League of Legends requires your full attention for, on average, one straight hour. You're going to be hard pressed to play one game uninterrupted, let alone two in a row. You should look for some other game that you can play in short bursts, pause or walk away from when needed. You cannot do that with League of Legends. AFKbuster is very active and even walking away for a minute can be the difference between a win or a loss. Not to mention how report happy some are within the community. Play video games, just not this one. My suggestion is that you look into buying/joining any of the following games as they will be more accepting of your current lifestyle: Rocket League, Overwatch, Divinity 2: Original Sin, Heartstone, Starcraft 2, 7 Days to Die, Don't Starve Together, Civilization 6, GTA V, Rimworld, Stellaris, XCOM 2, RUST, Soul Calibur 6, Left 4 Dead 2, Ark, Stardew Valley and City Skylines. All of those games have lots of replay value to them and you can pause, leave or devote a short slot of time to and not get penalized for it. Every single one is a better option than League of Legends would be for you.

2014: Team Builder launches and is widely praised by the vast majority of players. You can pre-select your preferred role and list a secondary role and be guaranteed to get that one of those roles 100% of the time. 2015: Team Builder is unceremoniously disbanded due to a minority complaining about "longer wait timers." Many vocal members of the community voice admonishment over the decision to scrap a the feature after less than a year in action. 2020: Team builder is now forgotten as the people who do remember it have left and the players who are actively playing joined after Team Builder's deactivation.

: Streamers will they kill or grow this sport?
Some streamers use their streams to teach, some to entertain and a small minority as a cash generator. Teaching is the best way to utilize it, as there's really no drawbacks from using it this way. Entertainment has some parts of teaching in it but they do a lot attention seeking behavior. Some entertainers are good and harmless, others are really toxic. Its the toxic ones who are detrimental to the community. Lastly are the full-time streamers... that isn't healthy mentally or physically for the streamer. A fanbase is fickle and the income generated from it will reflect how inconsistent they are. No streamer is saltier than a full time streamer who has an "underperforming"donation revenue. In that sense its bad for the community and its really bad for the individual.

You can buy leveled accounts. Granted you would be supporting nefarious individuals who are one of the core reasons why the game is failing but for a one time only fee you should be able to get to level 30 in less than a day. I do not think there is a faster way.

: Riot should crackdown on Leveling Bots (Third Party Programs) in Bot Games.
I quit this game 2 years ago. Bot accounts have been a problem since at least 2014. Back when I used to play I played Co Op almost exclusively. Every time I would find a bot account I would write it down on a list. Then I would wait a few weeks, maybe a month or a year and then go and look up how many of them are still around. Do you know how many of them reached level 30? ALL OF THEM. I had over 50 accounts written down and ALL OF THEM REACHED LEVEL 30! And then they went untouched and laid dormant. No games played since they reached level 30. All of my reports went unread I would imagine. I think its evident that the way Riot has been going about doing this is not proving to be effective. Ban waves don't seem to work as there are so many accounts that they just flood the system with even more of them. Ignoring it and pretending it does not exist also does (as anticipated) nothing as well. Riot needs to do something to fix the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM: People want to bypass the leveling process, and they will pay real money to achieve this. Make it so that players do not want to go the illegal route of buying an account. Make a legal avenue to get a fully leveled account, that way the new player experience isn't ruined for the authentically new players they claim they want to acquire. Do something to benefit the average, everyday player. A lot of us don't give a shit about Esports and Riot's hyper focus on Esports is losing them business in the long run.

I used to get excited to see new champs. But then I got tired that they would all come out largely unbalanced. Most of the time in favor of overpowered to entice people buying in at the inflated price point. Then conveniently dropping it when the price dropped. Seemed like paying to win. I have a feeling that the accelerated release schedule has a tie in with the "hype buy" of a new release. Especially if the first or second of the last 3 releases were underpowered. Hype doesn't sell well when the champ comes out underpowered. Aka, Gnar.

: LEAGUE RIGHT NOW IS THE WORST IT HAS BEEN IN YEARS
So glad I left over 2 years ago... Also, Rewt's comment is saying you need to break your post up into paragraphs. Its an eye sore to read all of that chunk in one go. You should make a new paragraph every 4-5 sentences. It is easier to read that way.
: A black Eyed Peas inspired skin line? (would be cool) call it "Pump it" skins?? idk bored
Wishful thinking but I don't think it will happen. This skin line would be niche at best and Riot will always shoot for the highest common denominator. If they make a skin line it will probably be aiming for pop music or EDM stuff. They already did Rock music with the Pentakill skin line and I doubt they will make one focused on Rap, R&B or Hip-Hop to which Black Eyed Peas dabbles in those genres. I could be wrong but I don't foresee Riot pursuing it.
: Four man groups ruin the fun for solo players.
Back when I played I became the 5th member of a 4 man group. They liked my sense of humor.
: Who is your kryptonite?
As a support main I really didn't have a kryptonite as far as champions went. I'll just say Ekko because he is the boy with the overloaded kit and was impossible to fully counter.
: Why won't Riot answer us about the client?
As a general rule all companies seek to ignore their shortcomings. Riot is no different. When and if Riot does acknowledge their client as faulty it will be downplayed as being something "minor" and quickly pivot into gloating about them breaking a new attendance record at worlds or something really trivial that they can praise themselves about. Its really irritating but every company does that these days.

: What did you get for Christmas this year?
I got a business overcoat, some carry-on luggage, a gift card for Amazon and a laptop case that is too small for my laptop (I have to go and exchange it for a different one). There was also family drama. My sister converted to Judaism a little over a year ago and she's very anti-Christmas now. She lives at home with us and she said it was disrespectful for her to have the Christmas tree and decorations throughout the house and she would rather not have it "shoved in her face" all the time. Granted, she's been living at home rent free for over a year now (I live here too but I pay rent) and her outburst really soured the mood of everyone who was over our house at the time. When they left my Dad got into an argument with her, my sister left all angry and she's been in a sour mood all day, slamming doors and shouting back when you try to talk to her. I'm on my Dad's side for this one. She lives here without paying anything, eats our food, and needs us to beg her to clean her room, wash a dish or grab her clothes out of the dryer. Her crying about "anti-semitism" in the household is only annoying us further. So my Christmas was very dramatic and ended on a sour note.

I have never been there but Cascadia looks beautiful and Crater Lake is a national landmark, arguably one of the most impressive parks in the country. I think you would really enjoy being there. Are you still out in Colorado or been moving around a bit more?

: I've always wondered why people stayed in toxic relationships
Its not the same as a real life toxic relationship with a person, but there's some similarities. Playing this game is an addiction, where you invested so much time (and possibly money) into it that you are having a hard time leaving it. I watched an interview with between Theo Vonn (a Comedian) and Jordan Petersen (Canadian Psychology professor) talking about addictions where Petersen said that not returning to bad habits is the hard part and that in order to leave an addiction behind you need to find something better or else you will be right back. You need to find something better than League of Legends. It could be other video games, a new hobby, a long term project or getting a girlfriend. What it ends up being is up to you but if you want to leave and stay gone start looking for somewhere else to be now and once you decided on what that is going to be, dedicate all the time you spent playing this game into your new focus. You'll find leaving this game behind so much easier.

I won't like it but it would be better than what they are doing now (which is proven to not be working). Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you are toxic, if that's how you took it. I haven't seen anything particularly toxic from you in this thread so I have no reason to believe that you are. What I meant is that for the sake of eliminating bots and reducing toxicity, I am okay with losing the small population of players who refuse to provide a mobile number, such as yourself.

In a way it really doesn't matter what I think. I haven't played this game in over 2 years. Just came by GD to see how things are and if anyone I once knew is still kicking around. A few are still active but a whole bunch seem to have moved on. That cell phone number may work but I still see liability written on it. I wouldn't come back if that were the caveat they introduced to the scene but it may still work.

Doesn't really matter to me. Most readers check out threads that have extreme numbers in either upvotes or downvotes so its getting the thread added publicity as far as I am concerned. The gay bots are very fickle. They will probably upvote the thread so that it gets neutral results now that you mentioned this. http://www.auplod.com/u/pdolua802d6.png

Can you elaborate on what you mean? i was just going to be snide but then i got rolling so here okay so two things,** first** it likely wouldn't work or be profitable for riot * people who like tormenting this community will just repurchase an account the second they get banned, it happens in other games, it'll happen here * make the account too expensive and you open up the market to bots farming accounts again to undercut riot's price * so riot doesn't actually set the price on these accounts, what people are willing to pay does, and they could be undercut for a while even if they do start selling bot accounts, as long as the business is profitable to the third party * and even if riot could be convinced that this is important, and in their interest to deal with, then you have to convince the higher ups that it is an efficient use of resources, or in other words, protifable * but riot doesn't set the price on these accounts, and would constantly be risking being undercut, so in short-hand, it's likely not profitable for riot, which means anyone at riot who dedicates themself to it is potentially risking their job unless they can et a higher-up to back them * and last of all, the modes plagued by bots likely see very little traffic, so why fix what from riot's perspective, **is not broken**, fixing it would cost them money, development time, internal structure, and it's probably not even profitable **second:** it directly compromises the public perception of their integrity by adding incentive to ban, instead of the suppossed 'incentive to rehabilitate' that they claim to operate off now * no bullets on this one, i guess i could add some i dunno * no actually i'd like to mention that making banning profitable, by allowing people to buy pre-leveled accounts to replace banned accounts, would be a great way to make everyone hate you, that's why riot started their whole 'anti-toxicity' in gaming coup they started years ago, b/c they needed to put out the perception that they cared about the way their game impact their players and that they cared about the money you had sunk into their product, negging on both implies a direct an apathy towards riot having an openly negative relationship with its players, where they slowly decay over time in favor of the bottom line which is why they didn't let that happen back then and they won't now * it's like wal-mart getting paid for every shoplifter they boot out the doors, and if it became profitable there would at least be the rumor that they accuse people of shoplifting to make money, if that is not just the reality people start turning to to (correct usage, shut up grammerly) increase their numbers and protect their job * okay i guess i added bullets

At this point I think that's more important. Their game is proven to be in decline and with the artificial boost they are getting from the bots... its probably lower. Isn't rehabilitation better? There's only a finite number of humans in the world and retaining the ones you do rope in will net you more in the long run. The most effective marketing tactic, for hundreds of years, has always been word of mouth. Suspend offenders first, lengthen them second, force them into a rehab third, ban them as a last resort. It seems low effort on Riot's part to just suspend and ban people.

Give a discount to doing it this way. Riot can review the original account's report history and approve or deny based on what they find. Ultimately it's up to Riot on how they implement this part, but this would be the easy part of the operation. so why buy an additional account ? if this is what you are arguing for, this sounds like a very niche market demand, which then brings questions up about profitability for riot * also, if this is a niche product that only a small amount of people will want, how does that stop third parties from peddling botted accounts to people who got banned, because that's the primary consumer of these accounts and in order to stop the production, the demand will have to be removed, otherwise it remains profitable

I really don't know who. I would imagine that its to people who already have an account but maybe its to new players. I don't know the selling price but it has to be profitable enough for someone to be automating their operation. Ban waves don't do nearly enough damage to hinder them because they simply make more. I want them to be shut down completely. Make it so there is no incentive for them to make new bot accounts. That's my main goal here. Remove the bot accounts and get the new player experience to be a new player experience filled with actual human beings.
