: As promised, I'm back with more input! I want to start off by saying that his concept is hella freshhhhhh and not by any original MOBA sense, I'm talking about fresh for Riot standards. He have zero, absolutely NONE, ABSENCE of any trace of a female champion that is visibly old and repulsive. If we take a look at the two examples Riot has that could potentially fall into this category, being Camille and Reksai... Camille IS old we all know that, but due to her bionic nature we don't get to see how old she really is (I believe her lore has her marked at around 80+ years old). And Reksai is more of a female monster than she is an old hag... so she hardly counts. But this... this I would like to see. No more sexy babes. No more bouncing. No more fan service. Give me something gross, something wicked. Something like this!!! I've been going a little overboard in previous posts that I've contributed to so I'll try and keep this simple :P *Passive: It is kinda loaded, not gonna lie. I like the concept of having to collect regents to improve her spells and the added part of being able to create some type of consumable is also very niche. With all of this being said... I can't help but feel that we would need to either tone down the accessibility of this passive (ex. lowering the drop rate of her regents) or lower the amount she can gain from these bonuses (ex. removing the consumable component and focusing 100% on ability upgrades). Either way, it shouldn't be that big of an issue to try and balance lol. *Q: When I picture this ability the first thing that comes to mind is Rumble's Flame Spitter, but melee form and possibly doing physical damage. If we compare it to Rumble then we would probably see that this ability's two slashes won't really do much. Instead, I propose that it would be more of a continuous slashing (ex. 12 fast slashes with every 4 slahes applying on-hit effects). The time difference should be about the same to Rumble's and allowing every 4th slash to deal on-hit effect means that she won't lose out on DPS if she were to build attack damage. (Please let me know what scaling this champion has. As of right now I think she would build AD. Correct me if I'm wrong.) *W: Extremely unique ability and I wouldn't change anything! Genuinely interested in seeing the numbers around this ability. Since it offers a form of soft crowd control, does damage, with the potential of spreading I would either work with the mana and/or cooldown to make sure this ability doesn't overwhelm the opponent. If they are a traditional jungler (ex. can really only be played in the jungle) then I would suggest adjusting the cooldown to make sure her ganks are either all-ins or nothing. Just a suggestion. *E: I need a bit more clarity on this ability before trying to understand in what direction you're trying to take it. I think this is just meant to function as a mobility ability, which is solid for melee junglers, but the added interaction with her Q is a little... unnecessary, because her Q is supposed to be highly versatile and having it interact in a linear fashion defeats the purpose of being able to control the direction of the ability. It does nothing in terms of adding nor removing to the theme of the champion. It's just a little confusing lol but don't mind me I'm a biology major. *R: Are you familiar with pre-rework Mordekaiser? Lol. This is basically his old ultimate which Riot deemed "non-fun" and "little counterplay" so I hate to bring it to you but I highly doubt Riot will ever implement something like this again. We CAN, however, take a look at a champion with a similar mechanic that is able to get away with a similar concept- Lissandra. When Riot reworked Lissandra's passive they gave her a mini Morde ult, but of course with a lot more limitations. We can try and work some limitations into this ultimate to try and make it something that Riot might consider, or we could do a complete overhaul and aim for an ability that will portray the champion concept better. Right now she's a regent based champion so why not have an ultimate that revolves around that? Or maybe her ultimate could be half of her passive?! We could split up her current passive into two portions so that she can get to empower her abilities (similar to how Karma's R works) and she gets to build buffs/debuffs. Just a thought lol Overall this is a great concept and with some fine tuning, further effort, and some polishing we could really have a solid champion that Riot might consider for future development! Let me know if you would like to work on this to flesh out a complete champion! - Chubby

And while the rumble comparison is close I pictured her as being able to redirect her next slash with your mouse and not necessarily the direction your champion is facing. >*W: Extremely unique ability and I wouldn't change anything! Genuinely interested in seeing the numbers around this ability. If they are a traditional jungler (ex. can really only be played in the jungle) then I would suggest adjusting the cooldown to make sure her ganks are either all-ins or nothing. Just a suggestion. Indeed I designed the ability to be high damage and utility at the cost of a very high cooldown. I mostly refrained from providing numbers because balance isn't exactly my forte. I may have not been very clear when explaining the ability, english isn't actually my first language. The ability was mainly meant for letting her catch up to more mobile champions who could just dash away from her Q, especially valuable if she is to get more than two slashes as you proposed (which was actually a passive upgrade I wanted to add but completely forgot). The idea for the extra damage during the dash was for it to be somewhat like a Yasuo E Q interaction, hurting anything she passes through to add a little bit of extra damage to her combo should it be needed but most importantly, I just liked the idea of it. A charging AOE slash isn't something we really have in the game, and I think it it fits her charatcer well. >*R: Are you familiar with pre-rework Mordekaiser? Lol. Just a thought lol Indeed I'm aware of Morde's old ult and was really sad to see it go. Perhaps the damage increase could be removed or changed into something else. I always pictured the creature to be very limited in what the player can do with it outside of using lures to give it aggro priority, at one point I even considered making it so it actually attacks the player too should she gets close enough but figured that was maybe a bit too much. I don't know how willing would I be to change it into something completely different, especially just a stat buff. My idea was that summoning a giant demon creature to kill everything in its patch would be the "ultimate" witch move. But I'm still open for more suggestions, I actually quite like the Karma-like R you suggested.
: A witch like champion would be cool. A few thoughts. League doesn't really do fully themed champions anymore. Its more about the character, so she would have to be more than 'oh its a swamp witch'. Her backstory is very boring and plane. Its just 'Im evil' in a nutshell. Maybe give her a more tortured backstory based on betrayal. Or give her ties to lisandra or Sejuani, or maybe Volibear's pack. They can be portrayed as evil and have shamens, like the Udyr/sej story. I also don't think she should have melee abilities. This is not something I would associate with her as a witch. Perhaps a one in a while auto attack enhancing passive that does something cool, like drain health/mana, lower cooldowns or something else fun. Champions dont always leave behind bodies. So the 'if it collides with a dead champion' doesnt work. Maybe change it to a DOT, and if its on a champion when it dies, it turns into a huge swarm that infects nearby enemies. Maybe give her the ability to shrink or curse champions, lowering their stats? Perhaps make her cursed based? While being able to curse herself for benefits.

Or give her ties to lisandra or Sejuani, or maybe Volibear's pack. They can be portrayed as evil and have shamens, like the Udyr/sej story. Well I'm not a very good writer, which is why I left most things so vague, but my idea was for her a very detailed story on the tortures she had to suffer through in order to become a witch, making her slowly lose her sanity and humanity. Things like being starved for days, being abandoned in a forest for a night, forcing her to steal the life essence from living creatures and assimilate it on her body, butchering animals for rituals, stuff like the "[Trial of the Grasses](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Trial_of_the_Grasses)" from the Witcher, and many other horrible things just on a little/teenage girl that didn't choose to be born there. And I did consider giving her ties to the Ursine, but I wasn't entirely sold on the idea, soon after I learned there was in fact a god of sacrifice "Ildhaurg " in the Freljord of which we know nothing about, so the coven she was born into could very easily be followers of him, opening an opportinity on expand more on the gods of the Freljord. Again, even with all the examples I gave I didn't really go much into detail on each of them but I could try. I did think of a small snippet/prompt for a possible story of when she was still a teenage and was left on a forest for a night to test her survival instincts, to show what she was like before the all the transformations. "...She was starving and her arm was gravely wounded from a wolf attack, holding back her tears because that's what she was accustomed to at the coven. She found a very small cave under a cliff she could take shelter in, and once inside she dropped to her knees and laid down. She ripped a chuck of cloth from her robes and covered her would with it, soon after she gave in to her emotions and wept for several minutes. "I don't want to be here" she said, "I want to leave. This forest... This region. Leave and never come back". She wiped the tears with her hands and spotted something outside the cave, it was a mole, peeking out of its hole, curiously smelling in her direction. She chuckled at the sight of such a creature and reached her arm out to touch it, however it quickly burrowed back underground as their antisocial nature would dictate. Seconds later she had passed out from the pain. Once the sun was coming out she woke up, surprised she was even alive at this point. She heard some rumbling in the distance. On a road nearby there was a merchant transporting some goods on a carriage, merrily whistling and enjoying the views of the forest to his side when he was startled by a strange figure between the trees. It appeared to be a robed woman, clumsily walking and holding on to nearby trees for support. He had heard of strange things happening in this particular forest but he never believed them, he was ready to speed up and leave as soon as possible when he saw the figure fall down. He came back to his senses and figured it could possibly be someone in need of help. He then stopped the carriage and started walking towards the robed woman. "Hey! Are you alright? Do you need help?". She was startled by the sudden voice but when she raised her head and looked at the man and a carriage in the distance she suddenly felt hope, maybe he could help her leave. She remembered what the witches told her would happen if she tried to flee, but surely it must have been a bluff, they couldn't possibly know where she currently was, right? "Hey..." she said on a very weak and pained voice, and tried to stand up once more. But the merchant started backing off, he felt a sudden dark energy emanating from a distance, sinking into his body and overwhelming him. "W-wait, I have to do something". He turned back and ran as fast as he could back to his carriage and promply left without looking back. Confused and defeated she dropped to the floor once more. "Why?". Suddenly she heard footsteps behind her, she looked over. It was one of the witches, and that's when she realized, she was being watched the whole time, she could have never escaped, and worst of all, they heard all she said last night on the cave, this wouldn't end up well for her..." >I also don't think she should have melee abilities. This is not something I would associate with her as a witch. Perhaps a one in a while auto attack enhancing passive that does something cool, like drain health/mana, lower cooldowns or something else fun. I'll be 100% honest, the Q and E were the last abilities I thought of, but I actually liked so much I for the character I had set up that I couldn't and wouldn't bring myself to change them. I never really set her up as a full on ranged spellcasted and quite frankly I prefer it this way, being more of a savage melee combat witch. As I've said in different comments my main inspiration for her was the hagravens from Skyrim, who are just as deadly at meele range as they are at a distance, and like I said on the main post plenty of items/consumables could be made with her passive, so health/mana drains and curses are not out of the question. >Champions dont always leave behind bodies. So the 'if it collides with a dead champion' doesnt work. Maybe change it to a DOT, and if its on a champion when it dies, it turns into a huge swarm that infects nearby enemies. That's true, but it could also be easily fixed by an icon where the champion died, or maybe freezing the death animation for the champions that dissapear after death when she's in the game.

Like unique drops from each minion type which would build into other items or letting her pick up stuff from recently killed camps, but I couldn't really come up with something interesting. Kind of like a Zoe/Senna kind of thing? I think that would be pretty cool. Like, minions could drop something and it be randomized from wolfs and the other things with a cooldown between drops. > Well I put a summarized piece or lore at the start of the post, but if you're talking about a short story I was thinking of something like an encounter with Udyr (hence why I put him as her rival) where they dueled for a while and ended with her getting overpowered by the shaman, forcing her to retreat and driving her to seek more power. Yea, I meant something more like a short story. (I just like reading) =) The lore section was good to read. I was just curious if there was more.

That's actually what I had in mind when first writing the champion, in fact, the main inspiration for it was the [hagravens from Skyrim](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Hagraven_(Skyrim)). However I came to the realization that Riot doesn't really make champions like that, which is understandable since they don't market well. So I figured if she was going to be an attractive young female I would at least try to make her look like a witch. Someone like [this](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/03/72/52/037252a9f8c81e7e918343b5fbad3414.jpg) wearing something like [this](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/darksouls/images/f/f9/Cornyx%27s_Garb.png/revision/latest?cb=20160613173859) would be fine by me.
: Personally, I would really love a Witch-like character like the class from SkyForge. That was my jam when I played that game. If you never played that, basically the Witch/Warlock deals in DoTs (pretty much all AoE except for some targeted spells) that stacked for a heavy DoT. Then, the Witch could detonate the stacks for burst damage. It was fun. This idea is pretty cool as well. I am guessing this is more of a jungle champion though from the passive? Nothing wrong with that, but I personally like mid/bot more so I can't really speak to this champion that well. But, I do like the thought you put into the concept. I am curious though about what you think this champion's story might be like? I, personally, like the upgrades though. Those seem cool and I like champions who can upgrade (even though I don't play them). =) Witch/Warlock was on my list of concepts, but I am currently working a new duo concept in Shurima. Mine would be something similar to the SkyForge concept of the Witch/Warlock (because I love it). (I almost finished with a few key details)

But yeah, people are also most likely to choose the stronger champion, so while it may not be easy to do a fair Vs. event literally anything would be better than the 2 we've gotten so far and I really hope Riot does some fixes for this one.

I blame the "cringe" uprising. Once that word became mainstream people were just throwing it around and since the majority of people don't know the concept of satire, many obvious jokes went over their heads and were deemed "cringe". Coldsteel the Hedgehog, Reaper from Overwatch, Kayn, etc.

It is heavily implied in other champion's lines and his own. Akali: "Why are the hot ones always crazy?" Swain: "A child that has only known hate, confuses it for love" Shadow Assasin Kayn: "Zed now walks in my shadow"

: "Very Non-Traditional" Marksman Theories Thread
A few months ago I made [a theory on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/ApheliosMains/comments/c24m68/aphelios_might_be_a_dragon_champion/) that the new champion could be some sort of dragon based on the fact that the markings on the teaser looked Ixtali and that when the name "Aphelios" was supposedly [leaked](https://i.imgur.com/fV3WwPM.png) there seemed to be two Aurelions and their names sound similar so I speculated that maybe the other Aurelion was like a very early test of the champion's kit using Aurelion's assets before being moved to his own slot but the more I though about it the less it seemed likely however now I have a new theory and thankfully I found this thread. Looking back at the [teaser](https://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/05_Teaser-HalfFrames_794d3985l76z6z0foz4f.gif) , my post and now this thread I agree the markings look more to be from the blessed isles especially because of the black mist, but my theory is also based on some other things: 1.- The Skin Lines. So far every new champion has been shoved into whatever current event has been going on at the moment, looking back at the Dev Diary where they announced which skin lines would be coming back the only one that is missing so far is Star Guardian which makes me think the new champ will most likely be shoved into that line and therefore will probably be female. 2.- "Non-Traditional Marskman". Last time I said I couldn't think of a light-slinging champion that would feel too different from Lucian, Ezreal or Kai'Sa so a dragon would, but that was based on appearances not gameplay. But maybe it's not meant to feel too visualy different from those, maybe it's in fact meant to be similar to certain champion we already know: Lucian. I think we may be getting Senna as the new champion, somehow having escaped Thresh's lantern and gaining some light powers for herself, with the non-traditional part of her design being that she can benefit from being played with other marskmen, sort of like an Enchanter ADC all so she can be played along with Lucian. That's my theory, that doesn't explain the "Aphelios" part but it was fun speculating.

The original VA was accused of sexual harassment(with no proof that wasn't immediately proven false) Riot is just doing what cowardly companies do and kowtowing to a very vocal minority. We have absolutely no evidence that they changed his VO because of that reason. If it's true, then why does Malzahar still have his VO, which is also done by Vic Mignogna ?
[This](https://kotaku.com/inside-the-culture-of-sexism-at-riot-games-1828165483), [this](https://www.polygon.com/2018/9/4/17810676/pax-west-panel-league-of-legends-riot-games-controversy), [this](https://youtu.be/vzNcSvKCOyA) and [this](https://www.riftherald.com/culture/2018/11/19/18103377/neeko-lesbian-champion-lgbtq) is all the proof you need. Riot is just trying to appeace to PC culture in an attempt to cover up their own mistakes. Malzahar is a much more complicated character when compared to Lee, who's just a monk living in a temple so naturally he won't have much to say. He has connections to Kassadin, Kai'Sa, Shurima, Icathia and the Void with the latter two being pretty important in the lore right now. How do you write a literal prophet of one of the most hyped events in the lore without revealing too much? An update for him would also require pretty heavy lore updates. He must also have plenty to say about Lissandra, the Ascended, the Darkin and many many other things. Not to mention it would have been too obvious and dumb to replace them all at the same time and with the same voice actor, obviously they're gonna use a different one for him. My problem with this though is that the voice is actually **awful** for Lee, I didn't quite care about Hanzo's voice in OW and I certainly didn't enjoy it here, he's "fine" but it sounds nothing like the Lee people have known for years. Vic's voice for God Fist was absolutely flawless so the new one feels like a massive downgrade, it's actually funny how they managed to make base Lee sound more agressive yet God Fist more boring and dull. They tried to get a known and "beloved" voice (even though no one was quite blown away by his work) from another game but it backfired badly since most people hate it, and the funniest and most ironic thing of all is that Genji's voice actor would have made a better Lee Sin than Hanzo. If the voice was actually good this thread wouldn't even exist, even though it's still shitty to remove someone's work because of some (proofless may I add) rumors.

Renek would probably have a different role though since he's usually the outcast between the 3.

: Like to refund Exiled Morgana
The reason I got it was because I thought post rework it would look like human Morgana. Sadly that was not the case.

: To be fair, you can describe a lot of champions as "the scariest" when you type it down like this. There is a champion in League that rips people's bodies in pieces with an old scythe and literally eats their souls while they can feel it after gruesomely killing them. This champion tortures said souls afterwards so horrifyingly that they scream as if they are burning alive in perpetual agony, preferrably doing so with their loved ones and anyone they care about. In one of the lore entries, he killed a man's family and put them in perpetual agony within the prison he carries. He proceeded to seek out the man, and reveal that he couldn't keep his family safe before ripping him to shreds and putting the man's soul to burn together with his loved ones. It was described in gruesome detail. You might have guessed which character we're talking about. And his most famous trait is how people can't click on the lantern. Pretty stupid, right?

The thing is I'm talking from a gameplay perspecting, I'm sure Thresh is pretty high up there in the list of scariest champions lore-wise, and I do think his gameplay reflects this well, it can be really scary to play against a good Thresh where he can zone you well and if he catches you, you're most likely dead, his Q+E+Auto combo is a good representation of his torturous nature while his R fits his sadistic warden theme. But I don't think it compares to a good Lissandra who chases and pins you down until you're dead and has an army of corpses at her disposal. Plus the uncanny way she moves around, her quotes and her dehumanized face make the perfect contender for the scariest champion gameplay-wise. Obviosuly creepiness is really subjective, some people find spiders horrifying others find them cute. I'm sure Lissandra was never meant to be a really "scary champion" in the way Fiddlesticks, Shaco or Nocturne are meant to be but to me she is, there are also many champions that are scarier to play against than the ones I just mentioned even thought it's not really in their theme like Darius or Rengar to some extent.
