Yeah, fine, that's what I want to see, that demonstrates mastery and skills. I appreciate the feedback. What are some things you'd be more excited to track on Garen?
I'd love to see "CC negated" with W, or "Damage Blocked" with W. Possibly channels interrupted with silence? (Kind of niche, but also a reasonable marker of skill) Number of enemies armor shredded per game?

: VFX Updates for Amumu, Lulu, Tryndamere and Ziggs
The Amumu ult change makes me sad, please allow me to state why: Nothing in his previous lore (sad mummy), implies he knows any magic himself, so all of his abilities were "non-magical", or as non-magical as a acid crying mummy can be. Q - literally throws a bit of bandage at people to try to hold on and pull himself closer W- Tears, cause he's sad E - exploding ball of bandages to wack people he doesn't like (A little sad the sand is being pushed here, but I get it, he's from the desert and could be leaking sand) As for the Ult, I really want it to be an extension of the Q and E. As in throwing bandages all around him to hold people down. It would seem really cool to me, and tie back to the idea of he doesn't know why this happened and how to do magical things, he is just leveraging the bandages he woke up in. Anyway, just wish it could have been a little less magical and more normal if you guys were taking the time to redo the animation/effect anyway. 10 cents dropped.

The employees DO send a message because they're stepping out during business hours, but as players, we don't send that same message by not playing during those hours. We'd send a stronger message boycotting from like 5-7PM, which are pretty close to peak game time hours since most people are getting home from work/school and are able to hop on their computers. So let me phrase it with an example: 2PM - 4PM - 4 players daily play the game, out of 100 players, at these hours. Getting those 4 people to not play is not a very strong message. 5PM - 7PM - 85 players daily play the game, out of 100 players, at these hours. Getting even 50 of these players to not play during these hours sends a massive message.

Just that since the time the employees have chosen is 2-4, and getting people to agree on a new time is like herding cats, I figured I would ask people to do it at the same time as the employees.
: Boycotting League, from 2-4PM, on a Monday, is pretty redundant. It's a work day and a school day, so people are most likely by default already not playing League during these hours. Thank you for taking the time to write this up, you're clearly a seasoned and passionate Malphite player! We're in a weird spot because Malphite is so old, and beloved by so many. He also comes with a LOT of baggage, which means we can't do a lot of things we'd do if we were designing a brand new Champion from scratch. Thematically there is a big disconnect between "literal mountain" and squishy burst mage that turns himself into a missile. But that's what he is to many of our players, so we have to work within those constraints. Believe me, I think it's a missed opportunity for sure! If I had my way, mega Gnar's Q should have been Malphite's Q. He should be tossing hunks of Summoner's Rift around like it's nothing because he is LITERALLY Summoner's Rift. Imagine if the entire battle took place on his shoulder or something, straight out of Final Fantasy or God of War. Alas, sometimes we've gotta work with what we've got. :D
Agreed, If I could, I'd love to see some kind of mechanic added where after each ability he gains some speed, like the idea of a slowly building avalanche. Pairing that with more of a gnar style Q and you could have a really cool pattern that then makes the ultimate make more sense, as you'd have this gradual buildup of speed culminating in this unstoppable rock crushing you. Long range Q, starting to build speed, w to help tank the approach, e for damage when you get there, r to crush them. With increasing speed on each ability, it could be cool. Probably would have to reduce the ult range though which would be really hard to convince people to go for. Oh well, future thoughts.

: Malphite changes coming to PBE
Gonna post my thoughts as someone whose generic jungler has been malphite for many years. **Q Thoughts: ** The Q cast time increase is going to hurt. It already feels bad to be charging in to gank someone and stop to cast your slow, to have the stop increased will make him feel more clunky, combined with people ducking into FOW as it gets cast and cancelling it, opening that window up is going to be annoying. The Loss of the movement speed steal removes one of my personal favorite bits of mini strategy in the game. When ganking bot, do you use it on the ADC or the Sup, does one of them have boots? Does one of them have a movespeed buff up at that moment? Do I just want to leverage the slow? Making it a flat slow/speedup removes that interaction and strategy. Is it a teamfight and they have an ulting Yi? Make him pay and zoom around yourself! Reducing the amount of time the speed buff lasts will also make it harder to stick to opponents, since his other abilities don't grant him target access or stickyness (no tenacity increases, no other speed buffs, no other slows, ONLY the ult) reducing the amount of time he goes fast will just make it harder for him to get to people. **W thoughts:** Please don't change the name! I personally happen to love it The loss of the armor boost (the 3x one) removed an interesting bit of strategy. Similar to how Garen can use an ability to increase his tankyness, being able to temporarily make yourself vastly more defensive was a huge plus in certain matchups. Also curious how this will effect the jungle clear as for the duration you took less damage from monsters and I'm a little afraid he'll eat a lot more from camps especially during his early clears. I personally don't want him to be a burst champ, he's a tanky and I think as a Living Mountain as you have emphasized, he should be focused around being tanky, not doing high damage. Removing a tanky tool makes me frustrated, as it leads me to have one less actually interesting tank interaction in the game. **Other thoughts** Malphite's a mountain, he doesn't need to throw a quick stone, I'd take a longer travel time and a larger slow personally. He's a mountain, I'll take a tankyness increase over a burst/damage leveling any time. HE'S a MOUNTAIN, when he builds armor it's like making it harder for people to climb over him, so they should take more damage from his abilities OVER TIME, not in a burst. HE'S a mountain, he wears people down, and then crushes them in an avalanche (unstoppable force), not just through a mountain at them. I appreciate that you are looking at him, and I'm glad you are taking feedback before committing the changes.
: this goes into a thing a think SHOULD be part of League. If you draft too many champs that are very strong early/mid, you better close out. I think it's perfectly appropriate to get completely outscaled if you drafted all early, AND they have a champ who gets extra latest-game scaling. Drafting well is part of being good at League
I agree if you have a late game team-comp, you should have an advantage late game. I just don't think it should be so large that it's impossible to overcome which is what I think would happen with adding the extra level.
Meddler (NA)
: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: January 9
I would argue against allowing any champ an increased level cap. There are ways to scale things into late game that can make a champion incredibly strong (veigar, nasus, etc.) in ways that make them strong, but don't make them feel out of reach. If my team is playing an early game comp, and we fail to stomp a late game comp, I get that it should put us behind and make it hard for us to win late, but it should still be possible via outplaying, however, champs like Ornn with his items, or letting someone break the level cap, would feel unfair as they are now accessing power that there isn't a way for me to compete with. I say this as someone who likes long games, and playing for late game, it wouldn't feel right to me to allow someone to go past level 18.
: Pretty shocking to see Riot not even talking to us anymore.
It's the holidays? Some of them are still interacting, but most of them that normally do so, do so on their own time. Thus given that many are away on vacations, visiting family and friends etc. why should they feel the need to come and interact on the boards?
AR URF (NA)
: Point and click rooting.
I miss old taric point and click stun. If it hit up close it did more damage and further away lost damage but the stun length went up. Was a good counter to some really mobile champs. They could still get away, over a wall or just fast enough to be far away, but was useful to help peel. While the multi person stun now is nice I would go back in a heartbeat.

Animation thoughts: Leblanc, looks like some weird clipping where her legs go into each other, kind of weird, may just be a perspective issue, looks great from the side Veigar, I kind of like the how he's holding his hands/staff so still in the old animation as it always gave me the impression of him continuously trying to look imposing, and then having his ridiculous hat throw it off. He feels much more whimsical in the new version which doesn't line up as well with how I tend to want him to be trying to feel. I guess he should feel whimsical with the impression he's trying to look intimidating and failing, not just whimsical. Karma- Very much dislike how much the bits behind her move in the new animation. If possible I'd love to keep the new body animations, but keep the floating objects more still. Right now she kind of looks like it's careening around behind her, and she's supposed to be the calm leader. - The old and new for different speeds kind of works, but I still feel the bounciness is too distracting. Fiora, not a huge fan of the new, trying to pin down why, and mostly it seems to feel like she's now longer moving forwards? The animation is more fencer correct, but even fencers don't maintain that over a long distance which may be why it feel weird to see it for more then 1 or two steps at a time.

Routinely, I post 3+ bugs with videos a patch (and explanations for things that lead up to the event). Many of which I still experience and have experienced for over a month. Just follow Vandirill on youtube if you're curious. This is the most bug riddled game that I've ever played. As a professional, it's extremely disheartening how bad their QA and bug patching process is (when you see 50 bug posts a patch, but like 5 in the bug notes...). I get that they are working with garbage base code from 10 years ago, but eventually that stops being a compelling excuse. I make these negative comments on bug reports like this so if Riot is reading, they at least see that it isn't 0 people who are discontent with the amount of bugs. : Karma Gameplay Change Preview
Are there some concerns around the old Soraka Mana Restore mechanic problems arising again in botlane? As an aside, I don't particularly like the direction of forcing the more supportive role on Karma. From my perspective the reason I want the shield bomb back, the reason I liked the old damage people with the chains mechanic, is because they allow karma to function on her own, and put the focus on what you as the player are trying to do. Giving the mana restore mechanic to her, keeping the shield mantra as AOE shields and speed, force her more readily into the support role, removing the aspect of the leader from the front mechanics that used to make up her kit. Feel free to ignore the middle and just answer the concerns around the mana restore mechanic.
: Preseason Dev Update Number 3!
Probably been answered some where, but I cannot find it, is there a reason why an option for Mana Regen isn't included in the stats? When I play mages, or supports I am quite willing to sacrifice damage, or HP for an enhanced Mana Regen option if I could get it (used to do that with my rune pages a lot, Mana Regen and Gold Runes), and it's been sad to me to see that go away.
: I've given it long enough: I don't understand the hate for Akali
There are two aspects of her new kit vs her old, that cause me to dislike her design, and to "hate" the champ. 1) In her old kit, her heal was attached to her auto attacks (until she got to gunblade), meaning she had to expose herself to more risk to gain access to it. It was designed around being used in an active fight, or on minions. Her new heal is from range, and serves the purpose of healing, poking, and farming, while exposing her to less risk. 2) Her old stealth had a couple of ways to play against it - Move away - Place a pink - Oracles - Trinket - Towers - Skillshots Her new stealth has a much more limited set of ways to counter - Move away (now a wider area that is threatened, so move further then in the past) - Skillshots ..... Those aspects, make her actively more frustrating for me to play against. Her sustain is easier to access (including energy return, don't get me started on shroud giving her energy rather then having a cost so her escape/hide is always available when off cool down), and there are fewer ways to play against her stealth. _Edited for some grammar_

But if you actually look at what the regressive left does and still think they're decent human beings, you're delusional. > > Lemme ask you a question: why is "diversity" somehow the solution to sexual harassment? How are the two related? Does having a "diverse" staff magically make the failures in the HR system in response to sexual harassment go away? If you're staff isn't diverse (including in HR) the inherent biases people have can cause them to ignore issues that are reported to them. I'm assuming that Riot has tried improving training (which they are doing more of), improving processes (which they have brought in outside consultants to do), and adding a diverse staff helps to future proof their policies and approaches so that every complaint and issue brought to HR is given a fair hearing and not ignored or downplayed because of biases the people in HR may not be aware they have.
: Hey just out of curiosity, what ARAM stats would you want to see that is helpful towards learning/making meaningful choices? Its an area we explored, but couldn't find a good handful(then again I'm not a hardcore ARAM player).
Speaking for only myself with the option for per champion variations of most of these: 1) First Blood Involvement (Both being the one to give it up and being involved in getting it) 2) CS score (can be relevant to certain champs) 3) KDA 4) Death streaks? Not quite sure how to phrase it, but basically how frequently do you die. 10 deaths in a 40 minute ARAM is great, 10 in 10 minutes isn't. But I've noticed I have a tendency to die a whole bunch in a match at some point, but be stable before and after. Could be useful to see where that spike is happening in game. 5) Damage Contribution 6) CC contribution 7) RUNES! I would love a more aggregate way to look at rune damages in general (say if I run electrocute vs predator, win percentages and am I doing better or worse with those runes then other players with those runes) 8) Build paths/Items (win percentages with Frostfang vs without, or compared to others etc.) As someone who plays ARAM a fair amount, these would be useful for me in helping to improve.
: Thanks for the response. IMO, a good way to strike a middle ground would be to have a mix of both 'stat sticks' as they are now and active items. The active items (in the long run) would have better abilities and shine far brighter than stat sticks could while players who are overwhelmed can stick to the stat-items. I think a good comparison is in WoW talent trees: Usually the additional ability/more complex rotation awards you more DPS. However, the passive is often serviceable at the cost of some lower DPS. Allows new players to get a feel for their spec of choice while mythic+ players will go for the complex, rewarding rotation.
I'd probably push back on this. It's honestly one of the reasons I've been moving away from supports for while now. Having to manage 4 abilities, a passive, track abilities from opponents in lane, as well as trying to predict jungle pathing, left me with little brain power to direct towards managing item CDs and passives. If the fact that I can't manage all those things and use items well means that I am basically forced into being less powerful by using stat stick items instead of the active ones you mention I would stop playing. From a personal perspective why I play league instead of Dota is for the item simplicity. I play because the ease of use with the items let's me focus on the more interesting (from my perspective) part of the game which is playing my champion and their abilities. There is still depth in the item choice, there are some champions who can build multiple builds and do fine, and defensive itemization does has depth to it, it's just mostly ignored because it's less flashy. If league changes to be more like Dota on the item front, I'd say goodbye to the game.

If you have your chat logs around, you can post them in Player Behavior and ask people to look through and help you identify what things you are saying that come off as toxic. It can be a useful check to see what the community opinion is, and they can give pretty god advice for how to keep calm and carry on. Also, there's a couple of programs out there to disable the enter key so you literally cannot type in chat which may be useful.

However, with my friends, if I ask them to play a game and they say "Nah, I'm just feeling solo" or vice versa, I get the idea. I might grief them a _little _ lol, but that's what friends do. It's the mutual respect we have for one another where, at the _very least_, my friends deserve a quick remark that I'm not feeling it. Random question on the ADC discussions and pace of game, has Riot considered upping the price for BF Sword and Needlessly Large Rod? Possibly back to the old costs of like 15-16hundred? While it was arguably too high, I feel that in many ways it really did help draw out and slow down the early game.

I find it pretty balanced that even the best ARAM players still hover around 50% w/r. Lol ARAM players, especially people who tend to prefer melee champions, tend to actually be pretty good mechanically, because they're constantly dodging shit from five enemies instead of one. HOWEVER, because there's no rotations & roams on ARAM, all of us who spend our League retirement on that map tend to be pretty much retarded on the Rift, lol.

: >Good luck getting everyone in a solo queue game to join though >I think that's why it's not a good feature to build into the game. Personally I'd never join voice chat with randoms. You're always gonna have people who don't want to. Make it the same as text chat. On by default and you can choose to mute people or make it an option to be off by default. This way you can judge every game if you want. Or have voice on but don't speak, so you can hear people and react gameplay wise to them, without having to speak. By enabling that, you can make sure more people use it, because most people won't join a discord channel for the same reasons why I don't want people in mine. So that goes both ways. Having it in the game would make it less of a commitment and more anonymous. Also having it enabled by default is easier than having to actively join a server, removing steps, making game voice more attractive than server voice.
As someone who basically never plays with premades, personally (and I really do mean just my opinion) I don't want to have voice chat in LoL. As someone who is often the odd man out (3-4 man premades and me) I get enough shit thrown my way without needing to hear it in my headphones. Again personally, I'm a dad so I often play with the sounds off if my kid is napping and I want to hear when they wake up, and I don't want people to be relying on me to hear something when I can't. Pretty much everything else in LoL has a visual indicator (Sion Ult excepted) so you can play the game with sound off without loss of quality of play. However if people are expecting voice by default it will then be incumbent upon me to always have sound on. Guess Work: Riot probably did a lot of surveying before deciding how/to-who to roll out voice chat. I'm guessing a lot of the community (or a rather large percentage) fall in the category of wanting to be able to opt into vice chat when they feel like it, but not feel pressured by having the expectation be that it's on.

When we made the "enemy vision here ping", we talked a bit about whether we could/should make more, but given the tech limitations (couldn't swap out pings on the ping wheel), I opted instead to just do the highest use case one (that the bush has a ward in it to warn your teammates). With the emotes wheel tech being complete, I'm **_hopeful_** that we'll actually be able to do stuff like this in the near future with some sort of configurable ping wheel (or maybe even a second one?). Your specific idea also came up in the dev corner post I made last december looking for dope ideas for 2018 (https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/aG96Psz9-featureqol-changeidea-generator-for-2018-and-beyond?sort_type=best&comment=0030), so it's obvious that the demand is there. I'd love for us to be able to expand this beyond adding the "need vision here" ping, so here's an open question for all you folks reading this. Assume that you were in a game and had neither voice comms, or the ability to type. What are the most useful ping additions you think would be valuable for helping you coordinate with a team? Ping Pitch: The "shit nvm" ping Use case: I just pinged that my enemy laner was mia, but then they came back into the lane out of fog of war. I'd love to be able to ping "nvm" or *erase* the initial ping to let my team know that there's no imminent threat.
Way late to the party, but I'd really rather a "ward here" ping was not added. It seems really open to abuse, especially directed at Supports. It could very easily turn into feeling like your team is just telling you where to go and what to do, and then god forbid you do something else and they flame you. It's bad enough currently when someone ask you to ward when you have no wards, base to get more, and they die and bitch at you for it. As a random user as well, I've kind of maxed the number of kinds of pings I can readily track already, combined with the recent addition of more things I need to track in game (Aeiry, PTA, Keisa Passive, Jhin Ammo, braum passive, Electrocute, Grasp, dark harvest etc.) and emotes being flashed everywhere,I don't really want more things that add clutter or junk on my screen. People can type "ward here" and ping pretty damn easily, or type "ward pixel", "ward drag" etc. and it's not that hard. Adding that to the ping options would I feel open up an abuse channel more then helpful information.
: Certainly an interesting idea. I'd be curious how many people would opt into an experience like it. I also think we'd need to be very careful about what sorts of things we tried to validate with this - also why? If we made it so there were no ranged champs for a game mode - what benefit do we get from it? We understand what the game looks like in a world where we remove half our roster? We wouldn't get much actionable info from that. A game mode where we could test something like damage reduction or something like that though seems to have some personal appeal.

As someone who plays mostly ARAM starting from back when it was on the Rift, I'd be willing to opt into weird variants of summoners rift for testing, it could be nice to play on it more.

: What push-to-talk key do you use for voice chat?
For league I would use Left-Alt or Space, generally I use caps-lock or q if I can.
: I don't play URF.. but.
There's a pretty large contingent of people who seem to enjoy URF, which is why they are trying to find a health way for it to exist. Unfortunately, classic URF apparently caused people to stop play LOL permanently, so they are a little hesitant to bring straight URF back. So they keep trying different variations in the hope of finding one that makes people happy and doesn't have other people leave forever.
: Why isn't 1v1 an official game mode already?
I feel like they did a 1v1/2v2 event mode at one point, but the problem ended up being server resources. Essentially, in ARAM or SR, you have 10 players on 1 game instance, but take the same players and have them play 1v1 you end up with 5 instances, in essence quintupling the server resources involved. That combined with a really really rapid drop off in play rates was I think why they don't do this. EDIT: Part of the reason why there is no IP/BE gain off of 1 player customs is to also discourage people from using a full games worth of server resources on 1 player. I know in the past they've even disabled customs if you have under 2 or 4 real players in the past when they were having some resource issues
: Its been an hour since you've said lets continue to discuss, and I have yet to receive a response. Saying something just so the community sides with you is in-effective unless you actually do it.
You might have to wait till a regular business day to get a full fledged response in a ticket. Especially if in MMR cases they do actually use humans to review the cases, the people with the knowledge and experience may not be in the office on a Saturday/Sunday.

: We have/had scattered reports if this one but it's bit hard to nail down - did you make all of your pages in one session (i.e all the pages before logging off?) Or did you made them over multiple sessions? 'A session' can be multiple days but only one 'login' if that makes sense (ex: I login Monday but leave my computer on and logged in to League til Wed, that's one session). We think there's something weird with hitting the server to save them, so that info will help us rule things out. EDIT: Ty to all the people posting their situations, helps a lot. Will show this to folks on Monday.
I ran into this when I logged into a different account from the same computer, then logged back into my main. All my pages were gone. Posting from main Alt: CountLucien

: The BE system right now isn't all that great because of the amount of BE you get when you level up is random(you can get a 450 champion thus only giving you 90 BE and that being all you get for leveling up) and you don't get BE after every match which sorta makes it a inferior system to the Influence Points system. If we got BE after every match then it would be a better system but as it stands I don't think Riot is gonna change it all that much.
I'm not even worrying about the overall amount of BE, it just feels bad to play a bunch and have nothing to show for it.

: I thought Warmog's was supposed to trigger at 2749.5 Health to avoid this issue? The problem might be that you have <2750 Health but that the number is rounded up to 2750.
That is a possibility, however I would argue that if your health bar is displaying the theoretical triggering number it should probably trigger. While it is likely to not be a huge issue, it was vastly confusing in game.
